Emerald hack: Pokémon Inclement Emerald: A Decomp Difficulty Hack [Version 1.13]

Hey, still loving the hack. So much fun. Couple things to report that I didn't see in the known bugs document: First, when I un-evolved a Leafeon down to Eevee, it still had the "Leafeon" nickname. This would carry over to any eveelution. Not a big deal and maybe not even a "bug" per se, but still something. The other thing ALSO might not be a bug since it's technically a Sw/Sh thing, is that Vaporeon can't learn Liquidation, despite being able to learn it by TR. Thanks for frequently checking the forum!

Thanks! Sadly I don't have the time or desire to police the discord (wasn't really planning to make one in the first place), so it's unlikely that will change.

Thanks! Yeah I'm aware of that one, thought it was harmless and kinda funny so I haven't gotten around to fixing it. Missing TM/TR compatibility that doesn't match gen 8 is usually a bug, thanks for letting me know!
 
Minor bug report: Lumineon is able to learn Aurora Beam via Egg Move yet unable to learn it via Tutor.

Also couple more suggestions. Any chance we could see Psychic/Dark Gothitelle? I love the type combination but having Malamar be the only option is kinda lame. There's plenty of pure Psychic-types that offer the same things as Gothitelle. So that extra Dark-type would be nice.

Also. Kind of a meme at this point but since it seems Flygon is planned to stay Ground/Dragon could we have Yanmega be Bug/Dragon? Just to really round out the unique type combinations.

Perhaps Fire/Electric Cinderace, Ice/Poison Hisuian Sneasel/Sneasler (Seriously. Such missed potential) and maaaaaybe make Lycanroc Midday Rock/Normal over Rock/Ground (maybe Dusk?)

Seeing Unique type combinations is cool. And I understand you don't always wanna overdo it. There is such a thing as changing too much. But I figured I might as well throw out some suggestions and hope one or two stick out to you enough.

Unbound Hoopa is also Dark/Psychic, it's just not available in this hack as of now. Absolutely agreed with Bug/Dragon Yanmega though.
 
I forgot Hoopa Unbound is Dark/Psychic. But I mean... I don't really think using one in a playthrough would be very interesting. I (and I'm sure others as well) prefer to leave Legendaries as a post-game challenge rather than actually using them during the run to the E4.

Plus, as I said. Gothitelle does a lot of things that other Psychic-types have covered. Like a Bulky Trick Room setter or Shadow Tag revenge killer. (The latter being handled more by Ghost-types. But the point stands.)

Also. When I evolved my Gothorita in my most recent playthrough. My Gothitelle wanted to learn Dark Pulse. I'd need to check if it was an evolution move or just coincidence. But it really stuck out to me. Kinda the reason I made the post in the first place.

Thanks, I've added that to the list of compatibility issues.
I've had a few requests for Psychic/Dark Gothitelle so that's quite likely to be added. Not a fan of Bug/Dragon Yanmega though; sure it's a dragonfly, but I just don't see anything in its design that says "this is a dragon". It's not like the Applin line where the whole concept seems to be a play on worm/wyrm, it's just a big bug. Adding Hisuian mons is still a "maybe" for IE; I'm not even thinking about changing them right now.

Nah, normal mode is fairly easy already (for a difficulty hack at least). Making something any closer to vanilla difficulty would be a whole new hack.

Hey, sadly there's no work around apart from playing on virtual console. I've fixed it for the next version but that won't be ready for a while.
 
I am not sure if this is a bug or not, however, when trying to get Archen, I received a "fossilized bird" from a rock smash rock. When I brought this item to the devon researcher who brings back fossil pokemon, he does not recognize this item as a fossil. I revived an omanyte, but it would not let me revive the Archen.
 
Is there a way to get pokeblocks because the blenders are bugged and I cant seem to win in master rank contests without them like can i buy them somewhere

You need the Plume Fossil to revive Archen. Fossilised Bird is for Gen 8's fossilmons. While the item is in the game's code, you cannot get the mon correlating to the fossil until 2.0 is released.

Nope no way to buy them. Contests are exactly the same as vanilla so you're not missing much (except for using the newer gen mons in them I guess).
 
So… how do we evolve inkay? I can't find anything in the evolution changes doc. I would like to use malamar, so this is a progress halter for me.

Also, any chance that when gen 8 comes out, frosmoth could be buffed up to volcarona's stat spread? I figure since vikavolt got fixed up and ice/bug is a pretty sad combo, it was worth asking! Loving the game so far btw!

EDIT: I forgot evolution methods are in the pokedex! Nvm the first question!

I started playing a while ago, had a burnout of Inclement Emerald and i want to know if the game recieved any updates recently as i'm interested in replaying this game.

It's not in the docs as it can be the same as it's essentially the same as vanilla; you can turn your device upside down if you really want to!
Frosmoth will be getting some changes, but I won't go quite that far - Volcarona doesn't get Ice Scales, Freeze-Dry or a 50% defense boost in Hail, so that'd all be a bit much on one mon! Glad you're enjoying it so far!

The date of the last update's viewable on the hack's github repo. "Recently" is subjective, so you'll have to take a look at the releases page and see for yourself!
 
Hi ! I played increment emerald on my 3DS and the game is really great ! I shared the .cia I made for the 3ds with my friends so they can play too, but the thing is: We are really bad, so I'm just asking, will someday there will be an easy mode ? Or maybe just an option to remove the level cap ? I know this is a difficulty hack, so what I am asking is pretty dumb, but the game is a bit too hard for me, and maybe for a few other players too, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, so I'm really struggling to advance in the game and a easy mode or something that could make the game a bit easier for noobs like me would be great !
 
Will OHKO moves be changed in any way? Their dubious appeal is decreased even further in level scaling hacks like IE, as most major trainers have higher levels than player so they can't function at all. (I kinda forgot they existed until now and as such didn't use them in this hack, so if they're already changed under the hood then sorry!) Not to mention people dreading them in battle facilities. Some ideas for changes:
  • Sheer Cold deals double damage if used against a frostbitten opponent
  • Fissure is turned into Ground-type Hyper Beam clone (and given to Typhlosion, hint hint)
  • Horn Drill deals bonus damage based on how much the opponent's defence is lowered
  • Guillotine becomes a powerful, but inaccurate Steel move like Focus Blast
