WAVE 41: MY, SUCH GREAT LORE YOU HAVE!
The better to show you an endless tale, my friend....
the remaining non-Legendary Folklore-type lines will be revealed in this wave, consisting of tales from all over the world that condense into one singular story that your team can follow. How are they related to the secrets of the OtherWorld, you may ask? You'll see once every Pokémon in this Expansion Pass has been revealed...and speaking of that, this wave also reveals more returning Pokémon for the NEONET, notably ones that take the page out of a certain Grass-type Pokémon's book when it comes to Gigantamaxing....
THE REMAINING NON-LEGENDARY FOLKLORE-TYPE LINES:
Folklore/Bug
Based off the fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper, Agrasp is a rather unique grasshopper Pokémon in that it's the third member of a trio those other members aren't even native to Oriva, not even through the Expansion Pass, though they still appear in a technical form in two Pokémon found later in this wave. On the topic of Agrasp, it's a referee Pokémon that can often be found watching races and determining who will win at the end. It also likes to walk down forests, and those that Agrasp pass by will be compelled to work all day rather than play, to ensure their own survival. It's said that Agrasp can jump the length of a skyscraper in a single bound, but no-one has ever seen it do so: In fact, it's very rarely seen doing anything other than those two activities, and some people believe that the fact that it is the only member of this trio to appear in Oriva is a contributor to this.
Folkore/Poison --> Folklore/Poison --> Folklore/Poison
Based off Tamamo-no-Mae, Narioto, the leftmost sprite seen above, is a rather odd Pokémon that releases poisonous gas wherever it goes. While it appears to resemble a bird, Narioto instead has the genes of a mammal, but the gas that it releases compels scientists think it is the latter, leading to chaos. It's said to only appear before those who prosper, which led some people to believe that Narioto was sent from the skies as a deity of revenge. It evolves into the middle sprite, which is known as Konmae. A strange Pokémon that appears to be midway through the process of turning into a three-tailed Jinari, this Pokémon's gas can now compel people to cut off the limbs of other people solely to send it away. Each of Konmae's three tails is laced with a deadly poison that can make people breathe out toxic gas instead of air, suffocating them in seconds, and it's also said to make it's victims intentionally ruin their own lives as well. However, historians are unsure if Konmae was the leading cause to certain wars, as it has only been documented being found in the wild at the OtherWorld. Eventually, it will evolve into it's final stage of evolution, the rightmost sprite known as Tameninn, a malevolent fox emperor that commands other fox Pokémon to destroy prospering kingdoms. Capable of infusing it's victims with enough poison to make them bedridden for life, Tameninn's six tails each contain a different toxin that influences a different emotion, always going for what it's victim is weakest at. It can also transform into a gas cloud to enter kingdoms unseen, and this gas cloud is similar to the gas that Sesshake makes, indicating a connection between them. Despite this, however, Tameninn is very smart, and supposedly can answer any question asked to it.
Folklore/Steel --> Folklore/Steel --> Folklore/Steel
Based off the fable of The Sparrow with the Slit Tongue, Cusai, which is the leftmost sprite, is a sparrow Pokémon that's made of the legendary material known as Mythril, which can never be dented no matter what. It often appears before people those parents are full of greed, and if they feed the Cusai and keep it healthy, they will soon have their troubles fly away. Cusai is also said to be a symbol of friendship, and that it always overcomes the evil of greed and jealousy. Cusai evolves into the middle sprite, which is known as Shisuzu, which has a set of sharp teeth, alongside a slit tongue. This tongue supposedly dawns from the first Shisuzu to exist, those tongue was cut by a ruthless mother who didn't want her husband to feed it. Unlike it's pre-evolution, if Shisuzu appears in your doorstep, it is a sign that your parents are abusive, no matter how long it might take, and you must do something fast before it's too late. Even though it is not a Flying-type, it can still fly despite it's heavy weight, mostly stemming from the harder Mythril on it's body that can deflect magical spells right back at their casters. Eventually, Shisuzu will evolve again into it's final stage of evolution, known as Mythrrarow. Now a fully capable flyer with a metallic coat that can deflect even planet-sized explosions away, Mythrrarow's main highlight is the basket on it's chest, which in turn contains two smaller baskets. The lighter one contains great fortune, but the heavier one contains all the sins it had suffered during it's lifetime. These two baskets serve as a test for anyone who finds them: If they take the lighter basket, they are full of grace, but if they take the heavier basket, they are full of greed. Since it is impossible to determine the contents of Mythrrarow's baskets until they are opened, many people have perished this way being consumed by it's own greed. Supposedly, Mythrrarow does not get along well with Hantage, indicating a connection between them.
Folklore/Ghost --> Folklore/Ghost --> Folklore/Ghost
Based off the play known as Yotsuya Kaidan, Kakklemm, which is the leftmost sprite shown here, is a lemon Pokémon that always emits a spiteful curse when anyone is near it. Despite being based off a lemon, it cannot actually produce acid at all, instead producing strange whispers in addition to this curse. Some people claim that Kakklemm is an emblem of jealousy itself, as it often appears before those whose loved ones have fallen in love with another person. When Kakklemm evolves into the middle sprite, known as Yotsito, the lemon shell cracks apart to reveal an evil spirit that is said to be an essence of the guilt caused by depression itself. Those that feel it's curse will be compelled to isolate themselves and avoid relationships at all costs, but it rarely does much on it's own, probably because Yotsito is the reincarnated spirit of a man who failed to marry anyone, his own guilt being his demise. The lemon shell is merely a husk at this stage, and scientists analysing the shell have found that it is completely unrelated to any fruit at all. It's final stage of evolution is known as Tōksuykai, which is the rightmost sprite shown here. Said to be the spirit of a crazed man who accidently killed his girlfriend in an effort to kill a man which had fallen for her, Tōksuykai can often be found near plays, similarly to Kohanji, indicating a connection between the two. When it raises it's hands, everyone near it will be forced to act out a deadly wedding where no-one survives to the end, their spirits then becoming Kakklems that join the Tōksuykai itself. For some reason, a figure that resembles a human child connects it's left arm to the body, apparently the baby that the man was expected should he have successfully married the woman he loved for all his life, and if you ever hear it crying, it is a sign that Tōksuykai is about to claim your soul!
Folklore/Fairy --> Folklore/Fairy --> Folklore/Fairy
The flying heart that you see on the leftmost sprite is known as Azee, a cute little fairy Pokémon that's common in fields full of flowers and singing. As it beats it's own heart, it produces a calming aroma that makes people want to befriend each other no matter their personality, and meeting a new friend is the highlight of an Azee's day. Apparently, this Pokémon can't be sad or argue with others, no matter how hard it tries, which made some people believe that Azee is the heart of a person that accepted purity itself. It's evolved form is the middle sprite known as Haizee, and in this form it resembles an actual heart to some extent. As it flies around, Haizee leaves behind fairy dust that promote love and friendship to those who catch them, and thus it's often employed as a form of therapist, being able to calm down any argument no matter what. In battle, it pumps out a different kind of dust that makes it's victims love themselves so much, that they tear their own organs out. However, this trait is rarely shown, as Haizee dislikes fighting and will flee if it cannot stop one. It's final evolved form is known as Rakirlo, which is the rightmost sprite, and in this form it becomes a fairy of friendship itself! It's actually a subspecies of Hayumi that spreads forth happiness through not just it's fairy dust, but also the beautiful songs that it sings, and when people who have witnessed Rakirlo feel their happiest, they release a strange heart-like essence resembling them, which Rakirlo then stores inside of it's bag. The heart wand that it wields not only serves as a microphone when it is singing, but also it's main weapon in combat, making their opponent's hearts literally fly out of their bodies. A common story in the OtherWorld tells a tale about how two girls who were the best of friends transform into a Rakirlo and a Hayumi every night at to help solve friendship problems in another world, supposedly the one that Rakirlo draws it's inspiration from!
Folklore/Fighting --> Folklore/Fighting --> Folklore/Fighting
Based off Kintaró, Littarō, the leftmost sprite, is supposedly a baby Pokémon that was orphaned at birth, being found in large mountains. Despite it's typing, it is completely defenceless without a trainer to command it, rarely getting any friends because it is so bossy to others. However, Littarō has a massive muscle mass in comparison to it's size, but most people can agree that Littarō is building up it's energy for it's evolution at this stage. Once it does so, it'll evolve into the middle sprite, which is called Jourtarō. It's true power now awoken, Jourtarō possesses an immense amount of strength, being able to lift Pokémon that are far heavier than it: In fact, some people have even seen it lift a Whumpback with only one finger. A friend to the forest Pokémon around it, it can supposedly speak their language, and even send them to get messages for it. It's main strategy in battle is to wrestle it's opponents and squeeze them so hard, all of their organs fly out like a cannon shot. Jourtarō then evolves again into Yukantarō, which is the rightmost sprite. It's strength multiples tenfold in this form, allowing Yukantarō to lift entire continents and throw them into space like it was a tennis ball. In it's left hand, Yukantarō wields a giant fish that weighs as much as an entire castle, while in it's right hand, it wields a hatchet that can always come back to Yukantarō even if it is thrown great distances. It has been seen helping out lumberjacks in lifting trees, and riding Bearisas at rocket speeds. Apparently, there has been a case where a Yukantarō threw a Scombtou so far into space, that it managed to hit the edge of the universe itself, and the resulting impact shaped a million galaxies.
Folklore/Sound --> Folklore/Sound --> Folklore/Sound
Nattergale, which is the leftmost sprite that you see above, is an artificial Pokémon made by an emperor to replicate the singing of a bird those songs could heal illnesses. Like Clatterkuri, it is operated by the wind-up key on it's back, which causes Nattergale to start singing it's tune. Like a music box, it's singing will gradually slow down as the wind-up key is wound down as well. Nattergale evolves into the middle sprite, which is known as Tattergale. It was clearly not designed to evolve further, as Tattergale can not only sing songs other than the one it was programmed to do, but it also starts to show signs of sentience, especially in areas where the bird that Tattergale was built off has since moved back in. It's a sign that flattery cannot outclass reality no matter what, but Tattergale is unaware of this, trying it's best to sing better songs than the bird it was built off by winding up it's key on overdrive. There's even rumors that the song that this Pokémon sings can't even repair wounds anymore, being silent even when death is at an emperor's door. It's final evolved form is known as Autottergale, which is the rightmost sprite. Said to be the essence of jealousy itself, Autottergale sings songs that mesmerize anyone who hears them into loving it more than the bird that it was built off, though it still needs to be wound up first. To do this, Autottergale plays a strange humming sound that convinces people to wind it up to try and get their worries away, only to meet their demise when Autottergale controls their minds with it's song, forcing them to remain in a bedridden state for eternity. Supposedly, the only friend that Autottergale ever had was the emperor that built it, as he was at least kind enough to repair it when it broke down, and it is singing in memory of this emperor.
Folklore/Light --> Folklore/Light --> Folklore/Light
Based off Tsuru no Ongaeshi, Uglicrugli, which is the leftmost sprite, is indeed very ugly indeed, and it is quite stupid as well, constantly believing why no-one loves it. It's said that this is the case because they often lose their parents when they are born by drifting off the lakes they were born in, and you can sometimes find Uglicrugli with a Sokuquack family, thinking it's one of them. However, it is smart at one thing: Finding out why no-one loves it. Fortunatley, once Uglicrugli evolves into the middle sprite, known as Tswann, it finally becomes a beautiful waterfowl. Often found in lakes that are clean and rich in light, Tswann elegantly swims across, looking for peat moss to eat. It hates having it's feathers dirtied, and can be sighting cleaning even a single one for hours on end. Should it ever face danger, it will use it's light infused wings and it's long neck to chop it's opponents up into sawdust. Apparently, Tswann has also been sighted buying items from marketplaces. When Tswann evolves again into the rightmost sprite, Swakeigo, it becomes even more beautiful by using the DNA of Lucrong in it's evolution. A very cheerful Pokémon that loves ballet, influencing it into it's fighting style, Swakeigo loves nothing more than to show off it's beauty at everyone. However, it is also quite a prankster as well: Because it resembles a human, Swakeigo will often fall in love with a person and give them gifts, and it's said that if you see one doing this, you have love without sacrifice, as long as you don't blow it's cover. Supposedly, there's even been some sightings of Swakeigo turning into an actual swan and flying for the sunset, never to return.
Folklore/Shadow --> Folklore/Shadow --> Folklore/Shadow
Rand is the Pokémon that you see as the leftmost sprite, and it's a tiny turtle Pokémon that likes to take things slow and steady. Although it's slowness might make it a laughing stock by other Pokémon, it's steadiness means that people copying it's style will always get things right, but apparently it is completely unrelated to the Sploshi line. Like other turtle Pokémon, however, Rand's main weapon is it's own shell, capable of spinning it with enough power to rip apart an oil tanker in an instant. The middle sprite is it's evolved form, known as Arfrand, and it is a very unique Pokémon in that it is a convergent variant of a Fakemon from another region that cannot be found here, an Ice/Rock type known as Torfrand. While both Pokémon love to take it slow and steady like it's pre-evolution, Arfrand is more specialized in combat prowess, using it's razor sharp blades to read it's opponent's movements, before taking it steady to react to anything it's opponent might throw at them. It's shell is also an indestructible force, capable of absorbing even a bomb blast. You'll often find Arfrand relaxing underneath waterfalls, eager to accept any challenges that it might be requested to do. Unlike Torfrand, which is actually a single stage Pokémon, Arfrand is capable of using the OtherWorld's energy to evolve further, evolving into the rightmost sprite known as Slowofrand. Although it has become even more sluggish in this form, Slowofrand makes up for it with it's immense strength and indestructible shell, which can survive even the force of a black hole. However, it's not as wise as it's pre-evolved form, as Slowofrand is built for combat, not exploration. It's said that if you see a Slowofrand wander across a forest, it is a sign that you should take things steadily and not rush through, as there is a danger in there that will claim your life if you do so.
Folklore/Beast --> Folklore/Beast --> Folklore/Beast
Wuff, which is the leftmost sprite you see here, is a type of wolf Pokémon like Wogolia, preferring to hunt in forests and sunny climates. Hunting in packs of ten to fifteen, Wuff's teeth are undeveloped and can barely chomp apart flesh. Instead, Wuff attacks it's prey by blowing out a gust of wind that can topple straw structures, injuring the prey by tumbling them down, before finishing the job with a powerful tackle. These puffs of wind also serve as a way of communication, as a Wuff pack can easily find a lost member by searching for which direction the wind went in. For some reason, it views Strawig as it's main target. Wuff evolves into the middle sprite, known as Pruff, and it not only gains a set of sharp claws in this form, but it's wind breath becomes far stronger, capable of blowing over a wooden structure, or even a Woodig off it's legs. Pruffs lead packs of Wuffs in hunting for prey in warm climates, never appearing where there is cold air. For some reason, Pruff tends to head for structures that are poorly built, blowing them down before they can cause any damage, though some scientists believe that Pruff is doing this solely so no-one builds on it's home. It is a wanderer Pokémon, never having a single den to stay in and always being on the move. When a Pruff leaves it's own pack behind, it is a sign that it is about to evolve into it's final form, the rightmost sprite known as Bolvroostruff. Finally gaining a set of big sharp teeth, Bolvroostruff's gust of wind is now so powerful, it can reduce a castle that has taken a thousand years to build into unrecognizable rubble in seconds, and like Horyusutsuki, Bolvroostruff's presence once made people fear building itself, though unlike the Poison/Flying woodpecker, Bolvroostruff was not hunted down as it only has a large enough population to be considered dangerous in the OtherWorld. Strangely, it often targets structures made by other Pokémon, as if it wanted humanity to be the only one who can build buildings. Bolvroostruff's greatest weakness is that it announces it's blowing with a great announcement: "I'm gonna huff, I'm gonna puff, and I'm gonna blow your house in!" It views Brickastrig and Scarlihood as it's main rivals in the wild, but the two are blissfully unaware of this.
Folklore/Athlete --> Folklore/Athlete --> Folklore/Athlete
Are, (Pronounced AIR) is the leftmost sprite that you see above, and can be considered to be the opposite to Rand, being a very hasty Pokémon indeed. It has an awful showboating personality that always likes to rush ahead, claiming that it has time to do anything it wants, though because it is small and weak, it never takes part in combat. Unlike other rabbit Pokémon like Ushagi, Are does not make any burrows, instead preferring to live in tree stumps and long dirt roads. Much like Arfrand, Are's evolved form, the middle sprite known as Ahare, is a convergent variant to a Fakemon that doesn't appear in Oriva. That Pokémon is a Fire/Fighting-type known as Thare, and both it and Ahare are very hasty Pokémon that never plan for anything, always coming up with the right ideas on the spot, but neither can seem to defeat a Torfrand or an Arfrand because of it's indestructible shell, often driving themselves insane in the process. However, while Thare is feisty because of it's fired up personality, Ahare instead is feisty because it thinks that it has no time to waste at all, getting mad if a process ever takes more than an hour to complete. In battle, Ahare uses it's athletic body to lay a massive stream of punches and kicks, before finishing off it's opponent by running straight through them. Thare is normally a single-stage Pokémon, but Ahare, like Arfrand, can absorb the energies of the OtherWorld to evolve further, evolving into the rightmost sprite known as Steadrare. Having apparently finally learnt about the concept of being slow and steady in this form, Steadrare formulates a plan by reading the movements of those around it, before using it's amazing speed to outrun it's opponents and bury them into the ground. It's also far less obnoxious than it's previous form, as it knows when things should be rushed, and when they should be taken with caution. It has even developed a way to finally get past Slowofrand's shell, by breaking it open with it's claws like a can opener. Despite this, you still might see Steadrare sometimes take a nap because it thinks it still has time to win.
Folklore/Wierd --> Folklore/Wierd --> Folklore/Wierd
Based off Kachi-kachi Yama, Kakochi, which is the leftmost sprite you see, is a rather strange Pokémon that resembles a bowl of mochi, and if you touch it, your whole body will become mochi as well. It has a hatred towards the Fanuki line, often spiking their brews with this mochi, which can cause unconsciousness if it is ever eaten, possibly as revenge from what it did to them in the past. Kakochi's presence can be noted by the crackling sound it makes that resembles fire, and people who heard mistakenly thought there was an actual fire, driving themselves insane trying to douse it. When Kakochi is ready to leave the bowl that it was born in, it evolves into Yamackle, the middlemost sprite. A most odd Pokémon that resembles a boat made of mud from a distance, it makes good friends with rabbit Pokémon such as Ushagi, often helping them in their deeds, and in the case of Lunochi, it will even help them make it's mochi. Sometimes, Yamackle will appear before devious people and offer them a ride across a river. However, once the person accepts the offer and gets on, Yamackle will dissolve in the water to get revenge, and since it is still made of it's strange mochi, the rider will also turn into mochi as well and perish. Yamackle's final evolved form is known as Manyestu, which is the rightmost sprite. Now carrying the dirt boat on it's back which it can use to get over even the most violent of currents, Manyestu is a seasoned general Pokémon that fights to avenge those who have been lost to devious Pokémon, using it's giant blade to cut apart it's foes: Those struck by it will be convinced to turn their body parts into a delicious dish, killing them in the process. It's severe hatred for the Fanuki line still remains, and it can often be seen challenging Danewster to a duel of tricks and strategy: Manyestu's blade can overcome even the effects of the move Stagger itself, and can cut open Danewster's barrel to force it into a massive disadvantage. Despite this, you might still sometimes see Manyestu helping other people make mochi that is supposedly delicious to anyone who eats them, even if they are cooked incorrectly.
SIGNATURE ATTACK: Crackling Blade: An 80 power Physical Folklore-type move that has Manyestu slice the target with it's giant blade. Not only does this move have a high critical hit ratio, it also ignores Stagger, doubling in power if it hits a Pokémon under it's effects, before dispelling them entirely.
Folklore/Job --> Folklore/Job
The leftmost sprite that you see above is known as Feefifo, a giant Pokémon about the size of a Whumpback that can be found in castles high atop the sky. It's very protective of the treasure that it has gathered or stole, though it also quite lazy, sleeping in on the job most of the time. However, Feefifo's strength should not be laughed at: If it catches you, while it's playful personality would make it want to use you as a bouncing ball, it can throw a stone at a hundred miles per hour. However, Feefifo should not considered a threat to most people as long as they stay quiet, and, if it is sleeping, do not wake it up. However, Feefifo's evolved form, the right sprite known as Kyojian, is a different story. Now the size of two Alolan Exeggutors stacked on top of each other, Kyojian is a guardsman Pokémon that, while not the brightest, is very strong and a lot more awake than it's previous form! It wields a giant stick of bread that can be used as a baseball bat in one hand, supposedly made out of the people it had grinded, and a beanstalk in the other which it can use to control others. It's said that Kyojian's dens hold the greatest treasures in history, and if you can get past a Kyojian and snag even the tiniest one, your life will prosper for all eternity. For some reason, a freshly evolved Kyojian often thinks that most of it's victims are a bunny rabbit named "George".
Folklore/Hero --> Folklore/Hero --> Folklore/Hero
Based off Momotarō, Meachy, which is the leftmost sprite that you see here, is a Peach Pokémon that was supposedly bestowed upon this world from the sky itself! A dormant energy lies within it, and Meachy spends most of the time gathering the energy needed to evolve, resting in one spot and absorbing sunlight. It prefers not to fight at all, as Meachy uses this same energy to unleash it's Hero-type attacks, though supposedly it will sometimes share it's energy with other Pokémon who would like to evolve. Meachy evolves into the middle sprite, known as Mutsugen, but behavior wise it's mostly the same as it's pre-evolution. Although it is friendly to families who have prospered, and has arms that can chop apart trees in a single strike, Mutsugen prefers to remain standing in one spot gathering energy, supposedly waiting for evil to arrive from the horizon. It is capable of moving, though it is clumsy as it is emerging from the peach shell that kept it safe in it's previous form, which it can also hide into as a form of defence. Supposedly, those who have seen a Mutsugen emerge from it's shell this way will feel the might of the Hero-type flow through their blood. Once Mutsugen finally gathers all the energy it needs, it will exit it's peach shell and evolve into the rightmost sprite known as Momozharo! Finally able to move around efficiently, and no longer worrying about having to spend it's energy, Momozharo travels across kingdoms, fighting against any Villain-type Pokémon that would dare to threaten them. Despite this, it has a code of honor, imprisoning any Pokémon that it defeats in a cage of peaches so that they can be rehabilitated for later. It also has a love for Pokémon evolution, often helping other Pokémon evolve to their next stage by acting as their own personal sensei, praising them when they do well. Legend tells of how a Momozharo recruited a Jingzon, a Mizseeque, and a Kartipavo, all capable of human speech, in liberating a kingdom of it's evil ruler, which is a common folk tale in the Oriva Region.
Folkore/Villain --> Folkore/Villain --> Folklore/Villain
Based off Uriko-hime¸Blackess is the leftmost sprite that you see above, and is a melon Pokémon that has a rather odd love for gothic clothing. Said to have dropped from a tree rich in spiderweb and drifted to a house from a river, Blackess spends most of the time waiting for a moment to strike it's enemies with Villainous energy, though it can sometimes be seen resting on a bowl and pretending to be an actual fruit. It tastes rather fowl, and those who do take a bite out of it will be compelled to gamble their life away, which made some people believe that it is related to Jackpot. It's skin feels like smooth silk, and clothes made with them always exhibit an aura of pure darkness. Blackess's evolved form is the middle sprite, which is known as Gothime. A strange teddy bear Pokémon that carries around an umbrella to protect it from the rain, Gothime is supposedly the reincarnation of a girl that was killed by a monster who seamlessly took her place, all because she ignored her mother's order to not open a door. It's favored by female collectors for it's rather smooth texture, though caution must taken not to hug it or steal it's umbrella, as that will cause the Gothime to tear your face off and replace it with a horrifying pattern that seems to resemble a dice. Supposedly, it is great at weaving clothes together, and some fashionistas employ them to make brilliant constumes, though they always seem to turn out black in the end. Gothime's final evolved form is the rightmost sprite, which is known as Celesuriko. It now behaves just like a fine class gothic girl, often being seen drinking tea and getting other people to get what it wants. Celesuriko is never seen without the doll that it carries around or it's umbrella, both of which are used in battle to plunge the battlefield into a gothic garden that Celesuriko feels at home with. Apparently, it has a love for not just gothic clothes and tailoring, but also gambling, and it never seems to lose any game that it is challenged to. It's lifelong dream seems to be to gather a horde of butlers, before employing them to serve it's needs in a castle for the rest of it's life.
MORE RETURNING POKÉMON NATIVE TO THE NEONET: EACH RIGHTMOST SPRITE IS A NEW GIGANTAMAX FORM!
Bug/Flying --> Bug/Steel OR Bug/Rock
Scyther is a mantis Pokémon just like the Manteach line, that possesses ninja-like reflexes that it uses to jump from one tree to another. It's razor sharp scythes can cut apart a tree in a single strike, and they never seem to dull at all, with Scyther sharpening them during battle by cleaving it's opponents in two using them. It can move so fast, that most people merely see it as a green blur, and if sprints in patches of tall grass, it can never be seen at all, allowing it to sneak up on both it's prey and it's predators without them realizing it until it is too late. Scyther's presence in an area can be noted by the huge amount of fallen trees in that area, and they train each other from birth to use these scythes in order to cut up to a hundred trees per day. Scyther has two different evolutions, but uniquely among all other Pokémon, it does not become any stronger this way, instead serving as a one-way change of it's battle style, which made some people believe that Scyther's evolutions used to be classed as the same species as Scyther itself! By being traded while holding a Metal Coat, Scyther evolves into Scizor, which trades in it's ability of flight and some of it's speed in exchange of a crimson alloy that reminds people of samurais. It's scythes are now claws that can break apart solid steel in a single grip, and they can also be used to intimidate opponents by making them think they are the heads of a dragon. Scizor has a much more merciless personality than Scyther, beating up it's opponents even when it's defeated, and it throws it's punches with such speed, it's wings need to cool it down during battle itself. Scizor is very popular with experienced trainers due to it's cool appearance and it's balance between power, armor, and speed, and, appropriately enough, it views Phynosca as it's rival in the wild. On the other hand, a Scyther that is exposed to Black Augurite, a volcanic material that used to be common in the Hisui Region but is now rare due to most of it being lost to greedy landlords who converted it into oil, will evolve into Kleavor. A very ruthless Pokémon that cuts apart friend and foe alike with the giant stone axes on it's arms, Kleavor is focused on offensive power, fighting just like a barbarian of the ancient times would. It has even been sighted cleaving down a massive tree the size of a skyscraper in a single strike of it's axe, and if you see a wild Kleavor, one's only defence is to flee. However, because of the loss of the Black Augurite, Kleavor is a critically endangered species in the present day, struggling to adapt to the modern era, especially with Scizor, indicating that Kleavor was the original evolution of Scyther. However, the NEONET's virtual world has no problem producing Black Augurite to evolve Scyther into Kleavor, and many of the Kleavor of the present day are ones that are from the NEONET itself!
Very uniquely amongst all the other Pokémon, Scyther, Scizor, and Kleavor all have the same Gigantamax Form, though each one has a different fighting style and a different weapon on it's body, which can be used to identify it. Gigantamax Scyther fights using it's wings as if they were swords, cleaving apart opponents with it's G-Max Scythe Saber. Gigantamax Scizor fights by clobbering opponents with it's claws, using it's G-Max Iron Crushtacian to smash it's foes with enough force to break apart bones as if they were sawdust. Finally, Gigantamax Kleavor fights by converting it's arms into massive axes that can convert a field into a barren wasteland with it's G-Max Timeless Cleave. It's said that if you see Gigantamax Scyther, Gigantamax Scizor, and Gigantamax Kleavor side by side, it is a sign that the warriors around it are the best at their field.
Fire --> Fire (The Alolan Form is instead Ice --> Ice/Fairy)
When a Vulpix is born, it starts it's life with just a single snow white tail. However, as it grows it, this tail splits into six gorgeous crimson tails, which serve as the source of it's Fire-type attacks. Commonly found in areas rich in oriental culture, Vulpix dislikes fighting, and will feign injury to dissuade it's opponents into attacking it. It can manipulate balls of fire to help catch small Pokémon, and some people think that these balls of fire are the lost souls of people who have lost their lives to fire, though Vulpix is blissfully unaware of this. It's also very popular among fashiontias due it's lustrous coat of fur that is always warm to the touch. By using a Fire Stone, Vulpix evolves into Ninetales, which, fittingly enough, has nine tails, each containing a different thousand year curse within them that Ninetales inflicts on anyone who dares to pull them. Said to be the reincarnation of a nine wizards whose lives were wrongfully claimed by a fire caused by Minillion itself, Ninetales is a very intelligent Pokémon that can often be found atop mountains, capable of living for a thousand years. It can remember anyone that it has cursed in it's life no matter how old they are, or even what form they are in, and it can know everything about that person or Pokémon simply by controlling the flames around it. Both the gaze from this Pokémon's red eyes and the flames that it harnesses can control minds, which leaves it's victims helpless to Ninetale's eternal flames. There's a common belief that Ninetales is the ancestor to Okamyubi due to their similar appearances.
In the Alola Region, exposure to the cold winds of Mount Lanakila has snuffed out Vulpix's flames, instead giving it a control over ice. If it is threatened, Alolan Vulpix will breathe out enough snow to freeze it's victims in a prison of ice instantly, before fleeing, having a much shyer personality than regular Vulpix. Before it was revealled to be a regional form, the people of Alola's past referred Alolan Vulpix as a seperate Pokémon known as "Keokeo", and showered them in gifts of snow to help it keep warm. Alolan Vulpix evolves into Alolan Ninetales using an Ice Stone, and compared to the regular Ninetales, Alolan Ninetales is a lot more calmer, and, most importantly, does not have any curses within it's tail. Instead, it serves as a guardian of the mountains that it lives in, helping travellers who are lost in them find a way out (Though some Rotom Pokédexes, especially ones controlled by crafty Rotoms, think that it is because they want them to hurry up and leave) and freezing those that oppose it in a massive blizzard that feels like an aurora touching your soul. People once referred Alolan Ninetales as a deity of snow, and they often blessed it with gifts to help them get through the winter season. The NEONET has both variants of Vulpix in the wild, though they are never seen together.
However, only the regular Ninetales is capable of Gigantamaxing using the NEONET's power spot, and in this form, all of it's tails merge into one huge tail which has all the curses they have combined into one massive curse. By using it's G-Max Infernal Torment, Gigantamax Ninetales will inflict anyone who dares to make a mockery out the world with enough curses to make their heads explode in a massive firestorm in an instant, and some people believed that it came from the sun itself, to bless those that it trusts with a burning soul.
Psychic/Fairy --> Psychic/Fairy --> Psychic/Fairy OR Psychic/Fighting
Ralts is a very shy Pokémon those trademark feature is the red horns on the top of it's head, which can read a person's emotion merely by looking at them. If it senses happiness, it will make friends with that person, but if it senses hostility, it will teleport away instantly. Ralts lacks a personality to begin with asides from it's shyness, taking on the emotions that it feels instead, and it will tolerate living with anyone at any age. Ralts evolves into Kirlia, which a lot more energetic than it's previous form. You'll often find Kirlia cheerfully dancing around from the happy emotions of it's trainer, and it is rather intelligent despite it's small size, capable of remembering complex mathematical equations for weeks on end. It is also capable of seeing the future, and will try it's best to make sure that it's trainer will survive within it. In battle Kirlia distorts the area around it to create illusions that are almost realistic. In the Oriva Region, Kirlia's evolution is determined by what gender it is when it reaches level 30, which contrasts with the Kirlias from other regions. Female Kirlia will evolve into Gardevoir, (In Oriva, Male Gardevoir must be caught in the wild or transferred) a beautiful maiden Pokémon those lustrous dress is like an elegant princess. Capable of seeing the future of any person it desires, Gardevoir has...uh, quite a powerful bond with it's trainer, and has even been seen falling in love with them, especially if they have raised it since it was a Ralts. It will do anything to protect it's beloved trainer, even if it meant sacrificing it's own life by creating a black hole that is said to lead to a dimension inhabitated solely by Pokémon. It can even survive in outer space, as it does not feel the pull of gravity, and it's said that Gardevoir represents sacrifice itself. On the other hand, a Male Kirlia will evolve into Gallade, (Most notably doing so without the need of a Dawn Stone, which is required to evolve Kirlia into Gallade in other regions) which can extend it's arms into psychic blades that can cleave apart solid diamond in a single strike. It is a self taught honorable warrior that will protect both the people it loves and other Gardevoir, fighting with an indominitable will that never gives up, though like Gardevoir, Gallade prefers to protect it's trainer the most. Although it has lost the ability to predict the future in this form, Gallade makes up for it for being capable of reading the opponent's movements and adapting to them accordingly. It is not to common for modern storywriters to write tales where a Gardevoir and a Gallade fall for each other, even if they used to be human!
Both Gardevoir and Gallade share the same Gigantamax Form in the NEONET, supposedly a leftover from when the two were once the same species. Said to represent bonds themselves, each form has a different way of fighting for it's trainer, which it now dedicates it's life towards. Gigantamax Gardevoir uses it's hands to produce a G-Max Juliet Space, a giant black hole that can consume reality itself, while Gigantamax Gallade detaches the wings on it's back to use as powerful blades, cleaving it's opponents apart with it's G-Max Romeo Claymore. Supposedly, this Gigantamax Form served as the basis of the design of Iron Valiant, though most people are skeptical on whether that is true.
Fighting --> Fighting/Steel
Riolu is a hard working Pokémon that has the ability to sense the emotions of others by reading the radio waves around it. Those who have a pure heart will be trusted by Riolu, but those with a wicked heart will be ruthlessly beaten by it's physical blows: Despite it's small size, Riolu is actually a very experienced fighter due to the constant training that it undergoes. Some people have even seen Riolu take down a Legendary Pokémon effortlessly, though it can only do this if it can fully focus, such as if it has constantly felt positive emotions for weeks. Once Riolu's happiness is maxed out during the day, it will evolve into Lucario, said by many to be the most experienced Fighting-type Pokémon in existence. It possesses a power known as "Aura", which allows it to read the thoughts, movements, and emotions of people and Pokémon from half a mile away, and Lucario uses this aura to amplify it's own attacks or launch them as powerful projectiles. It can also use this aura to see through walls and locate invisible enemies, so there is no escape from Lucario's tactics! Lucario is extremely loyal to it's trainer, and will do anything their owner desires at all costs. It's said that Lucario can be seen protecting massive sources of aura, usually massive trees, with the help of a human that it has shared it's aura with, and those who are gifted this aura are destined to have a brilliant life ahead of them. In fact, one Lucario in particular, a spirit that protected a tree that witnessed the beginning itself, was supposedly mistaken as a Legendary Pokémon.
While most Pokémon with a Gigantamax form can control their massive boosts in power due to both their trainer's assistance and their affiliation with the Dynamax Phenomeon itself, Gigantamax Lucario is a different story. Overwhelmed by the massive amount of aura that the Power Spot brings, Gigantamax Lucario becomes a savage beast that runs on all fours, firing aura blasts at friend and foe alike without a care of anything in the world. Using it's G-Max Aura Howitzer, it can fire a massive blast of aura that can pulverize a castle into dust in seconds. However, deep down, Lucario's own mind remains in Gigantamax Lucario's, constantly feeling the pain of those that it is attacking against it's own will, and wanting to change back as soon as possible, though once it does so, Lucario will have no memory of what it did as Gigantamax Lucario.
Water --> Water/Flying
The very Pokémon that Carpmen is based off, Magikarp is said by many people to be the weakest Pokémon in the whole world. Only capable of splashing about outside of the oceans that it calls as home, which it can live in no matter how polluted it is, some people question why Magikarp even evolved to begin with, as it is completely incapable of defending itself. A trained Magikarp can use it's Splash to jump over a mountain, and Magikarp Jumping, where two trainers put their Magikarp against each other to see who can jump the highest, is a very popular sport in some regions, but other than that is is completely worthless in both power and speed, making it worthy of it's title of the most weak and pathetic Pokémon in the world. Some people will even sell their Magikarp away by making the customer think that it is a powerful Pokémon, or even disguising it as another Pokémon entirely! However, researchers believed that this Pokémon was a lot stronger in the past, probably because of it's still strong evolution, known as Gyarados, Shanxyu's eternal rival! Gyarados is a Pokémon that is driven by it's own rage, appearing before towns and flattening them to the ground with massive ocean storms. It will go on a rampage at the slightest provocation, and it will not stop until everything around it is destroyed: Some people even claim that it can rampage for up to a thousand years. Gyarados, referred as a deity of destruction because of this, is said to only appear in areas where violence is an all time high, however. It's a very popular Pokémon among experienced trainers who can control it's rage, but most people aren't aware that Magikarp can even evolve, often kicking it away without realizing it's true potential: Apparently, only a Gyarados that has been treated well during it's time as a Magikarp will be friendly to it's trainer.
However, under the Gigantamax Factor, Gyarados becomes a living threat to existence itself, tearing it apart every time it rampages across the world. Armed with a second mouth that can fire a massive torrent of water and keep the original mouth free to act, Gigantamax Gyarados is constantly under a rampaging state, using it's G-Max Rage Storm to flatten cities into unrecognizable oceans in seconds. It's said that there once existed a planet filled with sentient life like ours, which was rich in violence: However, when a Gigantamax Gyarados visited the planet, it took only 108 seconds for the planet to become a barren volcanic wasteland just resembled the Moon.
