Crystal hack: Pokémon Orange: Island Walker

The hack is still being worked on, although it's been slow due to members working on the engine have RL stuff come up or burnout.

A lot of progress has been relegated to script mockups, the github will not reflect these as they are essentially development docs.

I am currently working with a member of Rainbow Devs on a final bugfix release for the old orange, to give everyone something to enjoy while they wait on Island Walker.

Hey there, I am new here. But confused AF. Is this game complete? I don't see a download link.
 
The game won't be complete for another year or two, minimum. This hack is going to be using a new and improved engine for Gen 2 hacks, and this engine itself is still being worked on. No one knows when the engine will be complete. This game will be worth the wait though. Piacarrot and the rest of the team contributing to this game are all extremely talented.

Tangelo is almost done...Still finalizing the Pokecenter and Mart so It's not quite there yet. I'm also still not sure how I want to handle the GS Ball just yet so I have rewritten the event a couple of time over. As you can see Mikan is mapped, but it has no events.

Im guessing there's some issue with Imgur or they recently changed guest account policy. Looks like an issue with Discord-hosted images. I'll see about using Imgur strictly going forward.
 
there's I think a bug in both the beta patch and the suloku patch, every starter I choose is always a female no matter how many restarts I try. never a male.

Content is picking up again, after another rebase. We're talking a brand new animated intro, titlescreen, and lots of fresh tiles and sidequests to enjoy. 16 bit items has not been overlooked, and Island Walker features over 170 new items including evolution, berries, held items and valuables.

TMs haven't been touched yet since the dex and moves still need a lot of work done on this rebase.

Speaking of rebase, check out CrystalShireEngine if you get a chance. It's gonna be the definitive crystal base to use...

Right now combat isn't where I want it to be, so the focus is going be be mapping, scripting and spriting.
 
Just wondering, will there be a demo of Island Walker? e.g., one that goes up to the second or third gym?

No, I will not be releasing it until it is done. The original was heavily pirated by bootleggers to the point that I was being swamped with bug reports of builds from 2017 as late as last year.

Lots of new trainer sprites, and for all these that are shown they now have OW sprites that match their model. I think the bug catcher girl is my favorite out of all of these...

Mikan Gym is fully scripted with a new Bath house inspired-tileset. Depending on your choice to play as Orange or Indigo, one side of the gym is locked off to you.

EDIT: New POI, Mikan Ranch. Cissy's OW has been updated, and there are now some Slowpoke enjoying a nice Hot bath while you hop around the pools.
