3rd Gen Pokémon R/S/E Jasmine and Pryce Cameo / GS Remake hint?

Why did nintendo put this there?

    Hey ;D

    I was playing emerald on VBA (it was a normal rom with no hacked-ness to it)
    and i saw Jasmine and Pryce or two good look alikes
    Here's a screen ... i've marked them out for you

    As you can see by refering to their sprites you can see them a bit more easier ;3

    Did nintendo put this in as a cameo or a G/S hint?

    Or both
    Or Is it just a coincedence and im being a nut job
     
    I think it was just a coincidence really, but still, a GS remake was kind of a given. The original games are most notable for having dead batteries, so you had to assume there'd be a remake for them since most people couldn't enjoy Johto anymore. And now they can. lol
     
    It does kinda look like them, but I think it was just a coincidence, besides we've got HG/SS now, alls we need is R/S remake or hints :D!
     
    I think it's a coincidence, because I think there have been a few young girls in the games with hairstyles similar to Jasmine's. And Pryce is your typical grumpy old guy. But they could have been put in on purpose just for fun, idk.
     
    Um....did no one ever get to the Master Rank of Super Contests on Diamond and Pearl?

    Anyway, if you haven't, Jasmine happens to be a part time coordinator on that game, so it's not unlikely that she is there observing them in Generation III. The Pryce one is a little harder to explain, so I don't know what to say on that.

    I got way too bored with Super Contests to get that far. That's interesting, now I kind of want to try...

    Hah, what if Pryce was just chaperoning her? Since a young lady shouldn't travel so far by herself.
     
    I definitely think they were put there intentionally. Whether or not the GSC remakes were already in the planning, or whether they had already decided to put Jasmine as a coordinator in Sinnoh, I'm not sure. But they look far to similar to the genuine issue to be mere coincidence... maybe like an easter egg type of thing?

    What Pryce's connection to Contests is, I couldn't even begin to answer...
     
    I still choose to believe its them and it is a G/S hint
    there are in fact many in R/S/E
    Like many references to Johto
    Such as a child in petalburg says how norman/Dad used to live there
    This one (jasmine Prcye)
    And many others
    And for the guy that asked who cares about G/S hints we should look out for R/S ones
    ...
    I just thought u'd like to see what i found! :'(

    EDIT: and incase you didnt know
    R/S/E took place 3 years before G/S/C
    and if you look at Jasmin's (cameo?) she has shorter haair and a pichu doll suggesting being a child :3

    To me, Pryce and Jasmine were simply cameos. We already got remakes of Gold/Silver in the form of HeartGold/SoulSilver.
     
    It's not a coincidence. Everything had to be programmed like that on purpose. This cameo is even mentioned at Bulbapedia.
    I don't think it was a hint at remakes, though. I think it was just an Easter Egg.
     
    I think that was intentional.

    Jasmine participates in Contests in D/P/Pt, and is even talking to Erika about contests in HG/SS, so I can kinda believe that she'd be there.

    No clue what Pryce is doing there though. He doesn't exactly strike me as the Pokemon contest type...
     
    I think that either the graphics designers got bored, and put it in as an easter egg, or it was just a coincidene. Nothing that really matters.

    This is on emerald
    Which was made before
    Heartgold and Soulsilver
    So this could be a hint ...
    but still looks like most people think cameo
     
    Why Jasmine? It's not that I don't like her, but why? Why not Bugsy? :)
    Jasmine's been in the contest audience in Emerald, participates in contests in D/P and also makes an appearance in Sunyshore City!
    It's pretty cool.
    Maybe it's because she was the first leader to use a new type? (She used steel in Johto)
     
    I only noticed Jasmine in the background. I didnt really care much for Pryce xD. I was curious about it too, but I didnt really take notice to any remakes at the time. I was like 9 or 10 when I noticed her lol.
