I had nothing to say before we set off. This Hinori man was trust worthy, none of his emotions gave me any reason to distrust him at all. He was a bit annoyed, but all in all, he was a trustworthy person. His emotions didn't show in his voice, so he seemed to be good at masking them, but still, there was nothing around him that would point him out as someone who would back stab us at all.

One of the pokemorphs of the group had came up to me. He had a scar along his right eye, his left eye was blue, so I guessed that it was his natural eye color. He stood at a tall five foot seven with his tan skin and lean build.

    "You alright?" He asked.

I nodded my head, "Now I am, it was just the emotions of the people staring at us were intense and since like almost half of the town saw..."

  • Tei noticed a tall man in armor standing in the middle of the plaza. He had two other guys standing behind him, who also wore armors. He didn't like the looks of this. Armor is equal to war, and Tei most certainly didn't like wars. He made a face towards the tall guy, being careful not to get on his bad side. He looked like a man not to be messed with. Suddenly, the man walked up towards the group. This made Tei shiver in his shoes. What if he just started a fight? He definitely didn't want that. He readied himself to transform.

"Adventurers," the man said. "I am Hironori of Blackthorn. Even though you managed to get here by yourselves, I have been asked to guide you down the mountain."

Tei breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness this man wasn't about to kill him. But then again, he said he'd be traveling down the mountain with the group. Why, exactly? Tei knew the group was made up of nine Pokémorph, including him. They didn't exactly need a baysitter. And besides, they were off to collect the sacred shards. If they needed someone to go with them down the mountain, then why did they pick them in the first place? Tei sighed again. He guessed he's in no place to complain. The man nodded at someone in the group, then he looked at each and everyone of them, stating their name as if they've met before.

"Alana, Mitchell, Diiju, Flavia, Felix, Raymond, Teijii, Jolim... and Farin, is it? I have heard your names spoken quite often lately. By tradition, the city of Blackthorn supports the Order of Celebi, and so we shall make sure you set off on your journey without troubles." he said.

[Well that answered my question...sort of.] Tei thought to himself.

  • Felix narrowed his eyes as his vision zeroed in on a tall, older looking man standing in the center of the plaza. His golden armor reflected and refracted the morning sunlight, giving it almost a mystical aura; and his mustache alone looked like it could knock out a Machamp. Felix felt his body tense up (but didn't let his face show it) as the man approached the other PokeMorphs.

"Adventurers," the old man, judging by the length of his whiskers, said. "I am Hironori of Blackthorn. Even though you managed to get here by yourselves, I have been asked to guide you down the mountain."

Felix let out a silent chuckle. Gramps over here was about to lead them down a dangerous mountain? And anyways, he wasn't interested in having some old man babysit him.

To be honest, though, he was surprised golden-armor-gramps wasn't here to chase them out of town, let alone introduce himself, especially after Dratini-boy transformed in the center of the town.

"Alana, Mitchell, Diiju, Flavia, Felix, Raymond, Teijii, Jolim... and Farin, is it? I have heard your names spoken quite often lately." The man continued. "By tradition, the city of Blackthorn supports the Order of Celebi, and so we shall make sure you set off on your journey without troubles."

With a scoff at the man's words, Felix stood up, dusted off his cloak and followed a few feet behind both grandpa and the group. A bored look covering his face as he walked. His cloak flaring as the wind passed by.

Hironori and his men turned, and started to walk away from the plaza. Finally. They reached the fortress walls, which were high and thick and made out of stone from the mountain, and passed through the gate. Now they were out in the open. Here, right outside the fortress walls, bloody battles had been fought. The Order had done so much to keep the jewel safe... and now it was gone.

Hironori's eyes narrowed as he glanced backwards at the group. They didn't look too happy with him "guiding" them down the mountain. Fools. They didn't know what they were up against. He should probably warn them, but Celebara should already have done that.

Pokémon with jewel shards in their possession aren't normal. They grow bigger, rougher and stronger. Sure, if a pokémon was really good-hearted, it could probably use the jewel for good things. Like Celebi had. But were there really such pokémon around this time?

Far away, in the Castle of Alph, there was a band of pokémon... no, pokémorphs. But different from these ones. They had been pokémon from the beginning, and had now gotten the ability to turn human, as well as gotten some jewel shards. Bad combination. And what was the worst.... Hironori sighed when walking. The Alph Band somehow knew about the mission of the human pokémorphs. If you knew how they were working, it didn't take much intelligence to realize they would be coming after them. The least he could do would be to lead them down the mountain, where they were vulnerable due to the open road without vegetation. He had slain too many pokémon in his days already, and he hoped he wouldn't have to slay a pokémon pokémorph. Or a human one...

((OOC: I can throw wild pokémon and bandits at you from time to time, but if you want a jewel shard, don't be afraid to invent your own pokémon attacker or bandit gang and make them come at the group. As long as you don't bunny another player, it's only exciting if something happens. Just don't finish the opponent in one post. Let others react as well.

And I guess the most fair way to do it would be to let either the one who created the opponent OR the one who kills it, have the shard it carried. A little argument or two can be fun to read about~

You are allowed to bunny my characters.

On another note, of course you are free to leave the group, or split up into several groups. 9 people are a lot. ))

  • Raymond was not impressed with everyone of this so called "group". Only two of his peers impressed him: the young confident girl "Flavia" and the boy with enough balls to scold the child who couldn't control his transformation. If he HAD to pick two travel with, he would not hesitate to select them. Let's face it, everyone else had the potential to be baggage. Raymond travels light for a reason. Less risk, less problems, and he didn't have to worry about anyone.

The poor boy with headaches? Suck it up and deal with it, Raymond thought to himself. I have a headache looking at you.

The other one who bothered to check on the kid? Nice person, terrible traveling partner.

The one who couldn't control himself? Sure getting in trouble with local enforcement is fun, but Raymond rather cause trouble on his own terms.

Everyone else in the group barely left much of an impression on Raymond and that means they are forgettable in his group. He would be willing to give them a chance, however. Don't want to miss out on a chance for fun, now do I?

An armored and well equipped man entered the plaza, quickly introduced himself as Hironori and insisted he and his men escorted them out of the plaza and pointed them in the right direction.

This did not sit well with Raymond. If this "order" had allies that were better equipped than the Morphs, why gather them in the first place? Made no logical sense. Raymond was not necessarily complaining. More confused.

Raymond sat up and began to follow Hironori, standing in the middle of the group.

Confusion overwhelmed Raymond and he had to speak up.

"Yo Hironori! I got a question. If this 'order' or whatever has got allies like you, why does it need to gather people like us to do its dirty work? It seems you could handle the situation perfectly fine," Raymond spoke rudely in tone and crossed his arms waiting for a response.

A man that was older than most of us in the group had spoken up. He was annoyed, I could tell, he didn't seemed impressed with the rest of us. He was annoyed with me, I could tell when he was staring at me. Tapping deeper into that annoyed emotion he was probably annoyed with my headaches. Well it wasn't really my fault, try feeling the emotions of half the city.

"Yo Hironori! I got a question. If this 'order' or whatever has got allies like you, why does it need to gather people like us to do its dirty work? It seems you could handle the situation perfectly fine," The older man spoke rudely in tone and crossed his arms waiting for a response.

"Because he can't," I stated staring at the man, "The jewel shards could be anywhere and with anyone. If a Pokemon could get it they could be supercharged. They would be able to kill any normal person in three seconds flat."

Hironori closed his eyes and a deep wrinkle of suppressed annoyance formed on his forehead as he continued walking without looking back at the large man who had posed the seemingly taunting question. Hironori wasn't easily taunted though. Before he could answer, another pokémorph replied for him.

"Because he can't," the youngling with the golden ear hoop said to Raymond, "The jewel shards could be anywhere and with anyone. If a Pokemon could get it they could be supercharged they would be able to kill any normal person in three seconds flat."

Now Hironori slowed down his steps and turned to glance at Mitchell. At least he wasn't too arrogant to realize that. "That is true," he told them both in response to Mitchell's words. "At least it often is, since pokémon with jewel shards tend to evolve quicker than normal and on top of that gain strangely strong powers and perception. It takes several of my warriors to bring one strong sharded pokémon down, while the Order believes that the pokémorphs have the ability to become even stronger than sharded pokémon when you get ahold of shards. Plus, you can communicate with both humans and pokémon, can't you? That might be a bonus on this mission."

He turned back forward and picked up the pace again. "And sharded humans aren't an easy bunch either. Many... weaker people seem to lose their ethics and become blinded by the sensation of strength and perception they receive..." he stopped himself for a second, remembering the time he had carried a jewel shard himself... it took a lot to remain in control of one's self and not begin doing things just because you could. "... while we have noticed that pokémorphs aren't affected like humans or pokémon are, by the shards. You are the logical choice of collectors."

((OOC: Note - there are no pokémon trainers in this era. Pokémorphs are humans' only way of fighting enemies with pokémon powers.))

  • Alana had been very quiet every since the huge group left. Most of her time had been used to think about the many oddities in life, such as why a man wearing armor was leading the group down the mountain.

She sighed. Maybe this was a dream and all she had to do was ram her head on a tree. Reality couldn't get any weirder.

Hironori was, apparently, a man from Blackthorn. It seemed that the majority of the poeple there were on the Order of the Celebi's side. Alana noticed that she hadn't used "her" or "our". Made sense. She wasn't exactly the most trusting person in the world. She gripped her staff tighter.

Alana looked around, trying to evaluate the PokeMorphs now currently wallking beside her. Most of them didn't leave much impression on her. Heck, she already forgot some of the names!

That "Flavia" girl...she was likely to either be the leader of this mess of people that hardly anyone would calll a group, or seperate. Maybe with a few people in tow. It would probably be wise to stick with her.

The antisocial man and the guy who pulled on the "Tei" guy's tail. They looked to be good allies, also. Unlike most of these people, they looked actually serious about the whole shard gathering fiasco. Speaking of he antisocial man, Alana noticed that he was brooding about something. He looked like he was going to seperate from this bunch. It would be nice if he was on her side, too.

She didn't get why the other guy was clutching his head like it was going to fall off. A headache? Forget that he was in agony, he was muttering about it, too. Alana felt like hitting him with her staff to see whether the headache or the possible broken bone in his body hurt more. But then, he would probably whine more.

She didn't even consider the "Tai" dude. Why should she? Of course, he should have some ability to fight, considering that he survived this long. Or maybe his parents coddled him, protected him from the other wild Pokemon? Alana grimaced at the thought. Depending on someone was weak and idiotic. She thought of the other PokeMorphs. It depended on whether they were strong or not. Strength and intelligence were what mattered in this crusade.

She snapped out of her thoughts to see a giant, looming shadow in front of her. Without warning, she struck it with her staff, shattering it to pieces. Wait, pieces?

Alana glanced at it again. It turned out to be a semi-large boulder, not unlike the one she used to strike at to train before her village burned down. For a sad second, she was reminded of her village. Hopefully, the people who fled were safe somewhere. This quest was first. Her village had to be shoved to second.

Aana stepped over the pieces and continued on her way. At least that would give the other PokeMorphs something to think about.

((OOC: Wait, boulders don't count as enemies, right?))

Farin listened to the others and occasionally nodded as if he understood what they where saying. He was walking close to Diiju for the sole reason that he also appeared to have difficulty with human speech. The only question on Farin's mind was a simple, where are we going exactly? He was also feeling weird, he never really stayed a human for too long, he was becoming uncomfortable and stretched every once in a while, and his right ear twitched periodically.

He heard a crack which snapped him out of his focus on his discomfort. He looked ahead and in front of a girl with black hair, of which he couldn't remember her name, Was a pile of gravel , <Di-did she just shatter a rock?> He thought to himself. He walked around the pile of rocks, "W-where are we g-going?" He said, concentrating on his words, stumbling on a few of the words then looked at Hironori, who he made it a point to remember his name.

  • Emotions? This could be a bonus along the way. Jolim took another look at the other Pokemorphs as they started out; it did look as if only a few, if any, of the others were even remotely happy. Just be glad Hironori's here, Jolim thought. Blackthorn's leader surely has his reasons for taking them down the mountain.

After another look, it seemed to Jolim that, other than Hironori and his two men, the only other person that looked close to his own age was the man-

"Yo Hironori! I got a question. If this 'order' or whatever has got allies like you, why does it need to gather people like us to do its dirty work? It seems you could handle the situation perfectly fine," the man spoke rudely in tone and crossed his arms waiting for a response.

-who'd just rudely asked a question. Probably not the nicest guy around, but it was too early to tell.

"Because he can't," the kid with the headache stated, "The jewel shards could be anywhere and with anyone. If a Pokemon could get it they could be supercharged they would be able to kill any normal person in three seconds flat."

The kid could sense emotions and seemed to have a head on. Good. After Hironori's explanation, Jolim said to the emotions-kid, "I didn't catch your name, by the way." His attention was momentarily drawn when he heard rock shattering. The girl with the staff had just broken a boulder. And she looked like she couldn't be older than fourteen. Good, someone who knew how to fight, it seemed.

"W-where are we g-going?" the short boy said.
Depends on who you go with, Jolim thought. Would this group stay together?

The person who had talked to me earlier had come up to me. He seemed a bit, worried, no content? Nope that wasn't it either. The feeling of usefulness directed at me?

"I didn't catch your name, by the way," The man said. Come to think of it, I never caught his name either. We were soon distracted by a shattering noise. A girl had just shattered a boulder with her staff. I stared wide eyed at her, shattering a boulder with only a staff? She must be strong.

"W-where are we g-going?" The short boy, who was beside the boy who couldn't speak in complete sentences, said. I was pretty sure I was feeling worry and nervousness from him, but what made me so unsure was the rest of his emotions. I could feel so many tugs of emotions just wanting to come out and be expressed, but they were held in tight. This boy was bottling up his emotions and it was giving me a headache. Bottling up one's emotions wasn't healthy and this boy, he might explode soon.

"Who knows, Hironori is to answer that," I told the short boy. I wanted to tell him that bottling up emotions wasn't healthy and that he should just express it, but I couldn't. Not in front of all of them, maybe when they were all asleep, I could deal with the headache I was getting until then.

I had turned my attention to the male who asked me for my name, "My name is Mitchell, how about you?"

  • (OOC: Got a red-bull and the will to write a post. This (post) is Sparta happening!

As the bolder shattered to the ground, Felix's eyes shifted towards the girl. Yeah, he was slightly irked about her showing off, scoffing at the random act of power (he could do better anyways), but his eyes weren't fixated on the overconfident girl or even the destroyed rock; they were fixated on the staff. It was obviously reinforced well. He briefly wondered what master crafted it, before briefly tuning into the conversation the others were having.

"W-where are we g-going?" one of the Pokemorphs, the one that had the ears of an Eevee, stuttered. They twitched periodically, reminding Felix of when he couldn't control his own powers. But that was years ago, and he had long since mastered his transformation abilities. This kid, like the Dratini-Pokemorph, seemed like they were going to get the group in some awful situations around people. It was hard enough being a Pokemorph, a creature regarded as a abomination by many, and yet sought after (by the Order, mostly) at the same time.

Re-adjusting his cloak, Felix continued to keep his distance from the group, into the sky as he buried his hands into his pocket.

  • Tei was still stuck in his thoughts when he heard a rock shatter, a sound he was familiar to since he broke a lot of them with his bare hands when he was still learning about martial arts. He turned to see that a girl just smashed a medium-sized boulder with her staff. He saw many the people in the group stare in awe as they kept walking. [Big deal,] he thought to himself, [I've broken larger boulders with my bare hands.] It was true, of course. Although he was not fond of using his strength, he had a great amount of it. Ten years of self-defense training really does pay off. Of course he didn't want to brag about it. He thinks that if he does, others may end up challenging him to a fight, and we all know that's not gonna happen.

He changed his gaze towards some guy in a cloak. Tei recognized him as that guy who grabbed him by his tail when he was in his Dratini form. He felt like he should go apologize to him, but then he asked himself why. For all he know, he should apologize to Tei. But then again, he thought it'd be best not to bring that up. He tried focusing on himself again, but trying not to lose his control over his conscience. He didn't want to go transforming again, does he? Suddenly, he onto something hard. He stared at the large boulder in front of him and thought of breaking it with his hands. But before he could even touch the boulder, it seemed to stand up, casting a shadow over him.

He looked up and noticed that the boulder did stand up. It had legs made of rock, heck it was made of rock. Its whole body was one big rock with limbs. It took him several more moments to realize that he had just bumped into a Graveler. It swung its hand towards the stunned Tei, but luckily, he jumped backwards just in time. "I can take down this guy in a minute." he muttered to himself, but he knew he couldn't. Well, he could take the Graveler down fast but he couldn't lay one finger on that thing. He didn't want to hurt anyone, or anything. Humans or Pokémon. He decided to step this one out until he is needed, which is probably not needed since he knew the other guys could take this one down easily, too. Well, that was until he noticed something weird about it...

((OOC: That is very much allowed! I'll just speed it up a little bit~:3 ))

Hironori glanced at the short, odd looking boy in the group. He who always stuttered when he spoke... Farin. "I will lead you down to the rocky road between Blackthorn and New Bark. You are several days from either of those towns, unless you can teleport or fly, I guess. But this is an area, close to Mt Silver, which has always been infested with pokémon lured by the sacred jewel in the temple. Now... some of them have shards of their own, and constantly battle each other for more of them, as well as anyone who tries to take it away from them. It's as a good place as any for you to start collecting shards. Not all pokémon are wearing them, of course, but the wary ones are. Unless you have got a shard on you, then the normal pokémon will try to... well-"

A loud rumble made him stop and look to the back of the group. What? The Dratini boy Tei had encountered a wild Graveler! Hironori swore within himself. He should have led them more carefully. But if this was an ordinary Graveler, it was probably just a little annoyed by Tei walking on it. But if it had a shard...

As it turned around, Hironori swore within again (he would never swear aloud). On the forehead of the Graveler was the tiniest, glimmering spot. In these parts, that could only mean one thing. A shard.

"It has a shard! Bring it down!" Hironori shouted and hoped some of the pokémorphs were able to use their powers properly.

  • The first thing that came in Tei's mind was to try and reason with the enraged Graveler, so he closed his eyes and focused on his Dratini form. While he was transforming, he had a brief vision of the first time he had transformed. It was so out of the ordinary. He received no notifications, no warnings, no instruction manuals, no everything. He figured everything out by himself. But now, he was regretting he has ever become a PokéMorph. If he wasn't one, he would've been in his grandfather's house right now, planning for his next fishing day. It's too late now, though.

As he opened his eyes, he realized that he has become a Dratini pretty faster than usual. He then decided to push on with his plan now. "Um, hey there. Would you mind not going on a rampage and just give up that shard you have there?" he told the Graveler. The Rock Pokémon replied with a loud roar. Clearly it was not about to do that. Of course, the others only heard Tei say something like "Dra-dra-tini-dra?" but maybe some of them understood what he had said, and if they did, they would be so disappointed of him right now. Tei was now certain he needed to fight this one, but he still couldn't get himself to. Finally, he decided to give up on his beliefs just for now. It seems like the only way to stop this enraged monster was to fight it.

As he decided to just fight the Graveler, one really big detail slipped off his mind: he didn't know how to use any of Dratini's moves. [Definitely bad.] he thought to himself. How was he going to fight now? If he didn't know how to fight in his Pokémon form, how was he going to in the future? That's when a crazy idea hit Tei. Frantically, he closed his eyes and started demorphing. He became a blur and in a flash, he was back in his human form. The Graveler swung his rocky hand towards Tei again. This time, Tei grabbed the hand, and with all his might, he lifted the Graveler up and slammed the Rock Pokémon backwards. The Graveler flew and hit the side of the mountain. Tei had just carried over 100 kilograms of rock and didn't break a sweat. He should be feeling really proud of himself right now, but instead, he was ashamed of what he had just done.

  • OOC: I have no idea how we are distributing the shards, so I kind of just guessed I could nab the first one. If there was some greater plan here, I'll change my post X___X I also assumed that Gravelers have eyes in a similar spot we do :P

Zoning out was a habit of Raymond's, mostly because walking takes little effort.

"It has a shard! Bring it down!"

Then those words were uttered. Raymond looked around to see a Graveler…with a shard. "Perfect," Raymond grinned to myself. Not only could he show off but he could nab his first shard. In his mind, he was clearly the strongest one here. Logic states he should get the shards. All of them if he could. But it seemed it wasn't the only one with this train of thought.

Snake boy leapt into action, transformed and then…talked to the Graveler? Wait, what? Raymond was too far away to hear the conversation but it was safe to say he attempted to reason with a clearly hostile Pokemon. That is like talking to the man who is about to execute you with a giant rusty axe. Raymond struck his face with his rather large gloved hand. Needless to say the Graveler responded with an attempted to strike only be heaved away by the foolish child. The child's strength was impressive to say the least. Shame it was wasted by a pacifist.

Raymond stepped forward and stopped but the solemn child who seemed to regret his decision. "Nice try, kid. How about you go run home to mommy while I'll take care of this?" he began as he cracked his neck and knuckles in order to get more limber for the fight. "The rest of you. This shard is mine, got it?"

Raymond drew his 6 foot sword from his back and walked slowly to the Graveler who began to stir from the ground. The massive throw from earlier only angered the beast and it rose with fire in its eyes. Come on beautiful, show me what you got, Raymond thought to himself. The Graveler wrapped itself in a ball-shape and rolled towards Raymond and the group (OOC: Think Rollout). The speed was slow at first but the monster began to gather momentum at it continued to roll. It knew where it was going: It was a head on collision course. First target? Raymond.

"No mercy, eh? Good," Raymond spit. With that vote of confidence, Raymond knelt down and transformed into his own form in a matter of a few seconds: Rhyhorn. Standing ground, Raymond dug his four hooves(?) deep in the dirt. With a loud crash, Graveler smashed into Raymond and the fused mess of rock bodies powered through the mountainside until Raymond's back was at a large rock that provided a nice cushioning. The sheer weight of the two caused the rock to crumble slowly. Damn. The strength on this guy is impressive. I can barely keep him from rolling over me. Guess I have to turn it up a notch. With a roar, Raymond used his horn to knock back the unsuspecting Graveler, who hopped on one foot as it attempted to regain its footing. Realizing his opponent was off balance, Raymond charged at it like a battering ram, launching the Graveler into the air.

Rolling down the mountain like the oversized boulder it is, the creature appeared defeated at least for the moment. Raymond returned to his human form. With a happy pant, Raymond looked at the group: "No wonder you guys can't take them." The snide remark was clearly aimed at his escorts. Taking a deep breath, Raymond made his way down the mountain (with a few near falls as the rocky path provided no solid footing), following the Graveler's path of destruction and debris with the hopes of finding its crumbled remains.

Only a few moments later did Raymond find his opponent, as it struggled to assume a standing position. With a pout, Raymond took his 6 foot blade once again from his back and readied an attack on his unaware victim. With an overhead swing (allowing gravity to do some of the work), Raymond chopped at his enemy. Graveler's rock armor provided to be an overwhelming challenge and the sneak attack failed. In fact, Raymond's sword found itself embedded in the stone skin.

"No way!" he exclaimed in horror. That was rare. Raymond for once was afraid. For good reason.

Not amused, Graveler turned around and delivered a rock hard punch to Raymond's face (OOC: Pun intended). Grounded, Raymond held his face in agony easily realizing that his nose was likely broken for the second time this month. Graveler laughed to himself despite Raymond's blade remaining within his skull and slowly walked over to Raymond's body. Grasping Raymond by the throat, Graveler began to clench tightly, squeezing the remainder of whatever life dwelled within the corpse.

Or that is what Raymond wanted you to believe. Reality was, it was part of the plan. Raymond drew the pair of short swords from his belt and plunged them into the so called eyes of the behemoth. Clutching over in the pain from the attack, Raymond seized the opportunity to free himself before gasping for a few breaths of fresh air.

Seeing the window of opportunity close before him, Raymond sought to finish the job and grasped his sword with what little strength he had left and freed his blade after using his foot as leverage, kicking the wounded Graveler as he did it. As he did the Graveler roared and lunged for Raymond. Almost by instinct, Raymond went for the kill and thrusted his sword into the core of his opponent.

The two seemed frozen in time for a moment. Then Raymond removed his blade from his rocky victim. The Graveler had been defeated. As the corpse sunk into the ground, Raymond retrieved his prize: A shard.

Making his way back to the group, Raymond held his broken nose, still bleeding profusely.

OOC: I tried making the fight somewhat even. Hope I succeeded :/

  • "I guess I should've watched where I was going."

Alana let out a small sigh as she looked back at the remains of the boulder. She was raised to attack anything suspicious and mysterious, and the boulder that she hadn't noticed until she was out of lalaland surprised her. Now, a lot of the PokeMorphs were staring at her. At least they didn't get an impression that she was weak. But still...

Alana mentally shook her head. She thought of how weird this whole thing was. A village. People. Pokemon. People eat Pokemon, Pokemon eat people. Simple enough. But now, Pokemon had shards. People had shards. A fight could be easily on one side, depending on the shards. It was annoying how lives depended on something so small. Alana bit her bottom lip. The fire that burned down the village wasn't an accident. If it was, it would be out in minutes. If a Pokemon burned it, however, it would take much longer for people to notice, since smoke was such a common sight. Nobody really noticed much in that village; the house next to yours could be burning and as long as you didn't look outside, you would be blissfully unaware. Even so, the only real way that village could really burn down was if the fire was extremely strong and spread quickly. No natural fire could burn down the whole village, much less the surrounding area. That left only one explanation.

    A Pokemon with a shard.

"W-where are we g-going?" A PokeMorph stuttered. Alana turned her head to see a person with the ears of an Eevee. She resisted the urge to facepalm, something she had been restraining herself from a lot lately.

"Depends. Maybe we have the infinite good luck of finding all of the shards in one place. Or maybe we will have to destroy them, if that was possible. Better than some random idiot stealing them." She thought to herself as she dodged a small rock in the road. "I seem to have the lovely aspect of subconsciously getting in the way of rocks."

A yelp was heard. Alana immediately turned to the source of the sound. It seemed that Tei had stepped on a Graveler. Even better, a Graveler with a shard on it.

"Oh, crud." She readied her staff, ready to attack it if it came close. However, she was saved from the waste of energy as 1) Tei had grabbed it and flung it away ("At least he isn't weak.") and 2) The slightly dark PokeMorph from earlier had defeated it, taking the shard. He had paid for it with a bloody nose. She almost smirked when the man's face was contorted into fear for a split second. She probably would've if it was a normal Pokemon.

"Nice weapons. And he seems to know how to use it properly." Alana quickly stored that information in her head; she probably would need it later. She looked around until she found a small bunch of weeds at the side of the road. "Perfect."

She took the whole bunch, in case of later use, and dandily plucked one weed from the cluster in her hand. Alana handed the weed to the PokeMorph with the bloody nose. "This'll help you with the pain a bit."

She placed the weed in the man's hand and walked away, storing the rest in a pouch she had found on the side of the road one day.

  • "Jolim Winchester," he answered, half listening to Hironori. "Nice to meet- Whatthe--"

Great. A Graveler with a shard.

Jolim drew his sword, ready to fight, only to watch as the kid flung the Graveler. That was good, if the kid would only stop looking...ashamed. Then the rude-question man had stepped in to fight the Graveler, after saying a rude comment to the kid. Definitely rude, Jolim thought, putting his sword back in its sheath. Mr. Rude could fight this on his own.

When the rude man left to finish off the Graveler, Jolim turned his one eye back to Mitchell to ask, "Could you tell what his emotions were, Mitchell?"

Farin watched the Graveler attack, when he revealed himself Farin felt the same thing as when the hunters attacked. He was about to change to Eevee to fight it, but someone else finished it. He eyed the gem, wishing it was his. He walked closer to the jewel now. Being around the jewel reminded him of Jolteon, he pushed the memories back, trying to distract himself.

"Could you tell what his emotions were, Mitchell?" Someone asked the person who had answered his question first. Farin looked at him, "W-what?" he said, struggling to get the second 'W' out.

  • Part of Raymond truly wanted to believe he would received as a hero for saving a small child and defeating a terrible beast single handily. However, that was his expectations. This is reality.

No one clapped, cheered or celebrated. Instead empty stares and silence. Disappointed to say the least, Raymond's mind drifted to worst case scenarios. In all likelihood, his display scared the group and made it all too obvious of his intentions to nab all the shards for himself disregarding the well being of the group. Then again, maybe it wasn't too bad. He didn't have to worry about everyone. No one bothered to help out anyway. "Bunch of pidgeys," he muttered to himself. One gathering of about 3 people chatting to themselves worried him the most. It was no secret there were speaking about him…or at least he assumed so.

Would they try to take Raymond down before they got started? Would they steal the shard? Would they wait it out? All possibilities. All of them foolish. Raymond outclassed them as this point. He has shard after all. In theory, it made him stronger already. Enough to hold his own. Whatever, it didn't matter. In case anyone in the group glanced at them, he stared at them with cold eyes. Enough ice in his glance to freeze them in their boots.

Blood kept pouring from his nose to the ground and the stress of the Pokemorph drama probably didn't help. Much to surprise, help arrived in the form of a small girl. Well small compared to him. He had about a foot on her, and she appeared to be only old enough to be his very little sister. Something about her reminded him of himself. It was strange in a way. Surreal in some demented fashion.

"This'll help you with the pain a bit." Without much warning, she placed a weed in his hands and walked away. Staring at the weed for a moment, Raymond slowly became perplexed. Not at the gesture. He was more the willing to take anything to make the pain go away, even for a few brief moments. But what was he to do with the weeds?

"Hey, kid!" Raymond called. "Thanks for the…thing. But what am supposed to do with it? Eat it? Put on my nose and say some shamanic lyrics?" He tried to force a chuckle to make his questioning not so…rude. He had been since the gathering. Not without his reasons. Most of these people didn't seem worthwhile. The girl, maybe. She reminded him of the woman who saved his life. She didn't ask his name or anything. Just offered help. True concern for a stranger. It was rare. He couldn't ignore the gesture. He owed her. He didn't know what. Something. Maybe a Ponyta. Girls like Ponytas. "Oh, name's Raymond by the way." He finished, holding his nose as he winced in pain.
