I'm not sure about the golem farm, but there's a skeleton farm. If you go to the Detroit Subway station (located north side of town, slightly east of my house and behind the hill), there's a Minecart Track that will take you right to it.

This may not be something we'd want to consider currently... but next time we decide to reset the server, maybe you should consider switching to a different provider. It seems like we use nowhere near our capacity (as far as number of people available to be online at once) goes, but we could certainly use a pretty substantial RAM upgrade.

Problem is that because I bought the server through Beastnode - the server host - there's no guarantee that the world in which we play in can be transferable to a competing Minecraft host site; if we were to go for a server/host site that offers more RAM, then we'd most likely have to abandon the world in which we've created (which I'm pretty sure no one would be keen on doing considering the bad history this forum has had with destroyed worlds.)

I would assume that it wouldn't be transferable, but honestly I'd be willing to start over again if it meant a large improvement in performance. As much as I hate to see our hard work go to waste, I hate ridiculous lag even more. I'd say there'd probably have to be at least a little bit of overlap between the two, though, just to make sure the new one really did provide us a noticeable benefit.

The other option would be to make the switch once this world gets to the point where it's kinda gotten stagnant (people have lost interest, everything major has been explored/built on, etc). Then it's a clean switch, and nobody would feel bad about the world not transferring.

What are everyone else's thoughts on this?

I'm pretty sure we should wait a long while before we even think of resetting again. I kinda like Detroit, and want to stay that way for awhile.

The iron golem farm is kind of in between the pet shop and the storage tower. It's 2 holes in the ground. Round up iron golems into the larger hole, then pour a bucket of lava in. Pick up the lava and collect the iron from the smaller hole.

Like wels said, the skeleton spawner can be accessed through the subway, or through Anna's sheep room. (follow the black and white banners)

There's also a zombie spawner that Penta made. I made a trail to it outside the Tomb of Heka starting area.

As for resetting the server, I've only really been here a week, so I wouldn't have much to lose, but others probably wouldn't want to. I don't know. :/

As long as I'm around, there will be new and interesting things going on. I am enjoying creating things for you all to do and I enjoy the feedback I get about my work.

I'm making this announcement so nobody will ask: The giant floating thing above spawn is A MOON. If you go to the Transport Hub and find the Moon teleporter, you can get into it and then see what is coming soon.

Beyond that, we may as well end discussing a reset. If Matt can find a better server for RAM, I can do my part to transfer our map. I will need to work on it some to transfer it 100%, but I will put in the work to get it fully transferred if we find better RAM-servers. The map can transfer though.

Yeah, I didn't say I disagree with you either. I would love a better server, but if it costs resetting the map, then I'd prefer it to stay until the situation gets stagnant like you said.

Uhm can someone explain where the sodding hell my chest went?

I had one next to my furnaces and it vanished along with my crafting table which I can replace easily, but there was some stuff in the chest I kept in case I died and now it is vanished :/

There's a hole which I lead the golems into, then burn them when I have more than 7. You'll see a hole with signs and a water trail which is close to the pet shop.

EDIT: I might consider making an iron golem farm outside of town at one of the border corners.

I had one next to my furnaces and it vanished along with my crafting table which I can replace easily, but there was some stuff in the chest I kept in case I died and now it is vanished :/

EDIT: I also found out my bed is gone...

I also had a chest in that area for when I go underground, and that's missing as well. There wasn't anything but torches and cobblestone in it, but it is kind of annoying.

Well, if we were to upgrade, generally it's not hard to back up the world. I did it before closing my personal server last year, I can load it into ftb unleashed and play it any time.

I do a lot of caving in my 1.8 Single-Player Survival LP world. And in general. =P

What stuff did you guys lose? I can probably help replace it. No idea who the culprit is, though.

I lost 5 stone swords (in case I died I could pick one up and go into battle again straight away), lotsa wood (cause I had that for my wooden structure), some polished green brick idk the name of it, some diorite, a shovel, lotsa coal, 6 iron and meat.

Someone broke into the Gauntlet (original) and spam-collected diamond armor and iron swords then broke back out. I've since taken out the exploit, but it's a bit annoying that someone is taking advantage of our trusting server.

Once again (I've said this before): If you see someone where they shouldn't be (AKA in someone's house suspiciously, off-limit areas, you know what I'm saying here), tell us! Matt and I can't do a single thing unless you all are being proactive and watching out for each other. I'm on the server almost every day and the "/msg Klippster" command sends a private message to me if you need me to know something privately and PC has PMs for the same thing.

There are a lot of people on the server now (twenty or more, almost, I believe), so Matt and I are going to need some assistance in making sure the server is fun and safe and not ruined by someone stealing.

I can replace a good chunk of that, although I'll be gone over the weekend for military stuff.

Another awesome episode. I always love seeing the Gauntlet from your perspective because you usually offer some good insight into each level and I enjoy hearing your strategies. :) Mostly so I can improve my methods of killing you. Haha.
