Pokemon Anime SUX!

    Okay First Off, I made this account to get this off my chest. Call me a no life or whatever you want... but... that does not change the fact that pokemon anime sucks?!?!

    First season was so good! Ash would be in a totally awful situation, but used strategy and good pokemon moves to turn the situation around. What do I mean? For example, Muk suffocating bellsprout to win in the pokemon league or whatever.

    Now... all Ash does is call the same move over and over and over again, even though it didn't work the first time! Example: Pikachu Volt Tackle.. oh no it didn't work.. you know what... Pikachu Volt tackle again.. maybe it'll work O.O... Like seriously... THEY NEED BETTER WRITERS!

    I know how they are trying to make it mimic the pokemon games. Evidence: 4 moves only a pokemon can learn? No variance to a move they call? Come on, you all have to admit... if it was the old ash.. he would have made pikachu start off with a quick attack to dodge and charge up into a volt tackle for UBER power or something! Frankly, Dawn, who is a contest battler, has MUCH MORE interesting battles than ash. Honestly... if they were to battle, Ash might lose to Dawn simply because his moves have NO STRATEGY anymore.

    UGH!!! Don't get me wrong, I still watch pokemon anime... its just that I'm so sick of the writers who do not know how to throw an interesting battle together... If they are trying to make it more like pokemon games.. they should stop... because... DOES ANYONE FIND IT INTERESTING TO WATCH A POKEMON GAME? I mean its fun to play... not very fun to watch somebody play it. Watching pokemon right now... seems like watching someone play pokemon. Okay.. you still need further evidence that the writers are crapping??? Orange islands battles with the last opponent with 6 on 6. Ash had to face against overpowering pokemon like dragonite... but still managed to win with lots of strategy.

    The only move that i've seen him use in the sinnoh league that was at all ash worthy strategy was infernape digging into the ground and blasting it with close combat or something... (against paul)... even then.. that would have been a BASIC and normal strategy for the old ash to use... Now.. its like.. HOLY ****>>> HE DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT>>> WOAH!!!

    Sorry that is my little rant... they should just fire the writers or hire new writers for battles... seriously...
     
    Lol, I don't even watch the anime anymore. It's just too corny. ><
    Besides, every episode is pretty much a repetition of the past one (IMO).

Sure, Ash uses attacks but that's kind of the point of the whole battle, no? And you can see strategy im ost of his important battles, especially the Sinnoh League battles.

Well contests are for displaying and combing Pokemon moves for beautiful outcomes. And enough of this "old Ash" because that's the past, things change. Things can't always be the same or it would get boring.

    UGH!!! Don't get me wrong, I still watch pokemon anime... its just that I'm so sick of the writers who do not know how to throw an interesting battle together... If they are trying to make it more like pokemon games.. they should stop... because... DOES ANYONE FIND IT INTERESTING TO WATCH A POKEMON GAME? That's why it has the storyline, character depth and all the other stuff that makes anime different from video games. And saying that the writers are "crapping" the episodes is completely rude. They take the time to make all these episodes, and all you can do is call it "crap".

Listen, valid points or not, the anime isn't amde just for you. It's amde for a younger audience, and they probably don't care about half the stuff you listed. So you just have to suck it up or not watch the anime because you obviously don't like it.

    And don't make a whole thread just because of these small, insuficcient remarks that will in no way make the show any better IMO.
     
    Did you even watch his battle with Fantina? Where he uses the counter shield to block attacks? That's strategy right there. Then he used Chimchar's flames to counter Drifblim's that's not something you find in the game and that was a good plan from Ash. I would say Diamond and Pearl are way more interesting than the original because Ash isn't an idiot anymore.

    OMGG ;;__; I totally loved that episode; Swellow looked so hot amazing :D

    But Ash does have strategy he doesn't use it much though >> but when he does its good!

    I love the Anime; although I need to catch up on the latest episodes u.u
     
    There was just as much Thunderbolt abuse back then as there is now. Take the nostalgia glasses off.

    Also, the anime isn't making it self out to be high culture or Pokemon Special. It's just a 24 minute advertisement for a child's series of video games. As long as the kiddies like it, Oriental Light and Magic will probably just keep doing whatever.
     
    You decided to make this thread in this type of forums? Really?? Don't like it, don't watch it, don't like it, don't post threads like this an forums dealing with the anime series. I respect people's opinions, you don't have to like the series, you can give it up if you want. And did you really make a new account just to make a thread like this?

    EXACTLY! Why even make a thread about something you hate? Just to let people so you rant hopelessly rant about it?
     
    I actually like the anime and still watch it. Satoshi does come up with new strategy here and there like that one episode when he fights Fantina and making another account just for this somewhat made me laugh a bit but was it worth it at all?

    I agree with these points because they show that Ash hasn't forgotten the concept of strategizing over the years.

    And as for the rant itself: Just because some concepts are repeated over and over again doesn't mean the Pokemon anime sucks. While it does get boring, some twists have been added to make it more interesting.
     
    I completely disagree. The battles over the years have actually become more interesting. There's more strategy involved, and Ash comes up with many unique offense and defense moves that could never be done in the video games. The "new" Ash is, in my opinion, much better than the "old" Ash.
     
    As much as I'd love to hear your opinion on the anime, I'm going to close this. This thread really isn't going anywhere, aside from flaming and spamming. You could have gotten your point across in a much better manner.
