    [PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon for Adults! :D

This was so cool when I found it. One day when I have enough time, (And money :D) I'm definitely going to try this! Has anyone else seen adult type things incorporated in the world of pokemon?

To be fair, Pokemon Red / Yellow / Blue have a fair amount of adult concepts.

    - Gambling: Slot machines in the casino.
    - Bribery: Give water to the police guard to allow you access to Celedon city I think.
    - Drug abuse: Pump up your Pokemon with various different stat boosting drugs.
    - Animal abuse: Team Rocket pretty much.

Nah, the road's just closed because they're all simultaneously thirsty. :P

And they are "vitamins". Calcium, Protein - they're normal parts of food. They refer to the shop level as the "drug store" because that's the American name for it.

In an attempt to stay on-topic, I'd argue that half of the appeal of Pokémon is that it's "ageless". For the younger audience, it's an adventure and everything is mysterious, working by trial-and-error. For the older audience, it's an well-matured technical RPG with an incredible amount of options. The competitive metagame is evidence of this.

Sure, the Eeveelution shots sound like fun (need to try that), but I'd assume they're mainly going to be appreciated by the audience that grew up with Gen I.

That's an interesting thought. As a subset of Generation Y, our age groups could be broken into Pokémon generations. I'd be a Gen Y-I. Many of the younger users might be Gen Y-III...

There's also drinks for the first generation starters as well which can be found here along with a lot of other nerdy drinks ;)

There's also a drinking board game.
    Spoiler:

As Archer said most of it is intended for Gen 1 fans and probably created by Gen 1 fans seeing as how they're older and stuff.

.................i think i just died from happiness. legit i am gonna play this at some point.

I had the same reaction! I was wondering if that could get a lot of adults to start playing pokemon! lol :D

who says they have to be adults? ;]

    it's the best topic imo.

Ha-ha, ftr, I lolled at that last statement... But the only way I can think of that could implement Pokémon in adult's lives is making some pump action Pokémon movie with loads of death and blood and what not...

Woah, definitely playing that board game with my next paycheck. Just to find people to play it with...

I at least want to try one of the eeveelution shots this weekend. I'll be playing pokemon while I take it :D

    I've had a Charizard/Blastoise/Venusaur before, and they're all delicious.

Also, I've played the board game a couple times and it is really fun, as long as you don't get screwed over with stuff like Diglett.

That game would probably be the only reason for me to ever actually do a drinking game...maybe. In my opinion, I think the Pokémon shots were made by adult Pokémon fans to compensate for the fact that Pokémon is mostly made for children, but since teens and adults like it too maybe we need something that benefits us more than the child-like themes...? (Even though there are a ton of adult references in the games, like Drakow mentioned.)

Those stat-boosting items are in every game, though, not just R/B/Y. :x

Right when I leave the Europe... I discover this... Now I have to wait until next year until I go back... Or just wait 3 years until 21.... Greeeeeaaaaaaat

Pretty sure most people here have seen this. XDD

Also Lavender Town is still scarier than any horror movie I've ever watched. Especially now reading the creepypasta stuff that went along with it.

After RBY it lightened up a lot... and for some reason the 8-bit graphics make it creepier to me. XDD
