Pokemon: Hybrid Chronicles

(OOC: Kansas, you're in. Accepted.)

"Hey Mav," Ashley said, without even noticing Kite standing there, waiting for her to move aside. "Did you hear the rumors about the basement? There's been some pretty weird stuff going on lately. Have you noticed how the scientists have been acting the last few days?" Her tail stiffened at something. "What happened to you? And I don't want to hear you say 'nothing' like Aiden. I want the truth."

She turned slightly, then out of the corner of her eye, saw Kite standing there, arms crossed and tapping his foot impatiently, somehow in virtual silence. She might have blushed, although it was difficult to tell what with all the fur and all. Making hybrids must be a very imprecise process, Kite thought, and not for the first time. The variations in appearances the process could create were enormous. On one hand, you had people like Ashley and that little pushover hybrid from earlier, who looked more like Pokemon than human, as though they were Pokemon who had learned to walk on two feet and wear clothing. And then you had people like Kite, who barely had any changes in their appearance at all. In his own case, all that had happened to Kite was a change in color of his skin, eyes, and hair, plus those tattoo-ish things on his face. He didn't really know where those had come from; there wasn't anything too like them on an actual Magnezone. He reckoned that if he ever did escape from the facility, he would pass off pretty well, at least in appearance, for just a human. Ashley on the other hand, well, unless she was going to die if she stayed, then Kite doubted that she would be any better off outside.

Kite uncrossed his arms and walked past Ashley. He now saw she had been talking to a Swampert hybrid. He couldn't quite recall his name, although he believed it began with an M. Ashley had called him "Mav". Maveron, maybe?

"Alright! You may be able to hide in the shadows and walk quietly, but you can't hide your scent. Come out now or I'm using you as charcoal. If you're not an enemy than come out and show us. There's no reason to sneak around listening to others' conversations like a criminal."

Kite stopped walking and glanced behind him. Ashley was turned in the direction he had been coming from, a small flame spurting from her mouth, and smoke flying from her nostrils. Apparantly she had either heard or smelled someone hiding in a corner somewhere. Kite himself didn't see anything, but he reached out with a weak magnetic field. As one of the field lines crossed a disturbance, he detected the presence of a person there too, although the kind of which he couldn't even begin to tell. Feeling for objects via magnetic fields was much easier underwater.

"You might not believe it, even if I went into huge detail." The being whose name Kite thought began with an M started talking. "You see, it just happened today. When I was having my physical, I was suddenly told to lift a whole 3 ton weight, so that's what caused the muscle strain. But then, for some reason, I was directed to the battle arena! Then I noticed that no one was in there. The scientist who was doing the physical set 2 dummies as, you'll never believe it, a Sceptile and a Venusaur, set to an aggressive hard level."

Oh, shut it, Kite thought, as the hybrid continued to go on telling his little story. This is not a good moment for storytime. But the hybrid didn't seem to notice his annoyed glances and continued on with his story, ending with, "And then, I woke up in my room and wondered why I was dragged up the stairs. Then, I went down to the Cafeteria, had my food and then was taken to another physical. I realized at about that point that the first physical was fake! But why…?"

Well sounds like they're paying extra attention to you for some reason, Kite thought, although he didn't actually say it out loud. Ashley, on the other hand, hadn't seemed to have paid much attention to the story, and was still peering down the hallway at their unseen eavesdropper. Eavesdropping, Kite reflected, wasn't really a crime. He for one, did it all the time. But if Ashley thought it dangerous, than maybe it was. His chains started to slink around his arms, legs, and torso, quietly unraveling themselves into combat stance.

"Hey Mav," he heard Ashley say in a gentle, friendly tone. Mav...That had to be the Swampert hybrid. "Did you hear the rumors about the basement? There's been some pretty weird stuff going on lately. Have you noticed how the scientists have been acting the last few days?" The basement stuff again...Jasper licked his lips, accidentally nicking them with his sharp fangs. The male hybrid winced, sucking the precious drops of blood into his mouth. But the Flareon hybrid went on and, well, he needed to pay attention.

"What happened to you? And I don't want to hear you say 'nothing' like Aiden. I want the truth." The words were gruff and fast - he could almost see the frown on Ashley's face. There was a quick, hardly audible sound, like the swish of air and Jasper stiffened. His ears were flat against his head and his muscles tensed, preparing to fight or flee.

"Alright!" Ashley's voice was firm, Jasper noted and sparks of panic jumped from his heart. "You may be able to hide in the shadows and walk quietly, but you can't hide your scent. Come out now or I'm using you as charcoal." Jasper's sharp eyes saw flames briefly light the room with an eerie glow and he fidgeted.

"If you're not an enemy than come out and show us. There's no reason to sneak around listening to others' conversations like a criminal." What to do, what to do...If stayed quiet, perhaps she would think she was imagining things and Jasper would hear more about their plan...And yet, if he gave himself up, then maybe he could participate in their scheme. But before he said a thing, another voice spoke.

"You might not believe it, even if I went into huge detail." The speaker's voice was slightly low in tone, but loud enough as it was. His ears twitched painfully for a moment. Jasper recognized the speaker as the young Swampert hybrid - the one called Mav. "You see," Mav continued, seemingly oblivious to Jasper's listening. "It just happened today.

He snorted in disbelief. As if a scientist would do that to a kid. They were scientists, sure, but they weren't stupid. Jasper rolled his eyes. Mav sounded completely sincere, but...The kid went on, explaining his strategy, how he eliminated the Sceptile but with the Venusaur launching a Solarbeam which was barely dodged and how the Venusaur launched an earthquake and knocked him out.

"And then, I woke up in my room and wondered why I was dragged up the stairs. Then, I went down to the Cafeteria, had my food and then was taken to another physical. I realized at about that point that the first physical was fake! But why…?" Jasper heard the kid's voice finally trail off. He let out a small sigh of relief. At that rate, he had been wondering when The Kid (as Jasper had dubbed Mav in his mind) would run out of breath.

Jasper stepped out of the shadows at last, yellow rings glowing and wine red eyes gleaming. He ran an absent hand through his raven-black hair. "Because - what is it? Mab? Ma-duh? Mav? S'mthing like that, I'm sure - your scientists didn't want the higher ups knowing much 'bout you, or they're playing mind games with you." Jasper rolled his eyes and gave a little half-shrug, his tail twitching in time with his shrug. "Not much you can do 'bout it, 'nyways." His tone was somewhat mocking. Somewhat belatedly, he remembered his 'manners'. "Hello, Kite, Mab, Ashley." He hadn't previously seen Kite, but was only mildly surprised to see him. Kite always seemed to be where the action was, although he was usually in the background. Jasper cocked his head to the side, in curiosity.

"What's going on?" the words were hushed and quiet, carrying a serious air Jasper's previous words hadn't held. His gaze darted from Kite's face to Ashley's. They looked like they knew the most out of these hybrids....But whether it was true or not, Jasper wasn't completely sure.

Aiden realized there was no answer and turned at all the commotion "Wow a big group of People" Aiden Didnt Really like that all these people were Here in this cramped little Hallway. "Geeze People Move out of the way" said Aiden was he was pushing his way through he became veyr closterphobic in this tight space. Pushing his way past a couple of People he dropped his notebook without noticing and kept walking on. He got to the stairs he wanted time to train some more. He went down the steps into the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria he passed straight through ignoring any scent that was picked up along the way. He got to the doors of the room and pushed them open. Walking over to a computer he put it on
Agressive-Medium. Plop! Plop! went the sound as two machines popped out. The first machine to come into view was Electrike much like a Manectric but smalle and green. The second machine was a Pidgeotto. Aiden smiled as he saw the bird type it would be easy to take down. He stepped back to the wall letting the machines take the first strike. I hope the Pidgeotto comes first and tries to use peck or Arial Ace or Something of the sort. The pidgeotto did come first and used a sand attack Aiden dodging it for the most part getting sand in his left eye. This was bad if they were to split up he could focus only on one. Sure enough the Machines Split up.

"Man just my luck.." cried out Aiden as he charged at the Pidgeotto Machine trying to Jump on its back he succeeded but didn't expect the machine to smash against the roof. Hitting the roof the Pidgeotto flew away Aiden was about to the ground when the Electrike tackled into the Pidgeotto. Aiden's Head and arms ached a bit but he ignored it. He went back to the wall and then charged at the Pidgeotto full speed he jumped into the air just before hitting it. He turned around used a Thunder bolt hitting the Pidgeotto before he dove down with a tackle smashing the bird to the ground. That took it out. "One Down one To Go!" cheered Aiden.

Aiden looked around the room for the Electrike he couldn't find. He whipped around only to be met a tackle from the pokemon. The unexpected tackle cause Aiden to fall back. Trying to get up he was hit again by the machine. "Alright.. ill play like that" Aiden said to the machine. Standing back he used a quick attack smashing into the Electrike knocking it down. When it got up Aiden used another quick attack hitting it the ground again. It layed on the ground and Aiden tackled it as the machine stuggled to get up. He backed up and waited for the dirt to settle. Through the dust he saw the Electrike preparing for a Take Down. Aiden stepped out of the way and watched as the machine smashed into the wall it let out a sound of defeat and the machine's retreated. Aiden felt exhausted and slowly made his way back to his room.

Seeing the crowd if people he ignored them opening his door and then closing it. He sat down on his bed and kicked off his shoes. He slipped off his sweater and then lied down just like that preparing to go to sleep. He fell asleep thinking about the raid of the basment. As he drifted to sleep his mind began to play an image. He was at the basement door. It creaked open revealing a dark room. He stepped inside and was flooded with memories. His ringed with yelling. "Stop!" he yelled. The voices went quiet except for one that said "You did well on making it hear but that stroke of luck ends now.."

Maverick was a little surprised when he saw an Umbreon hybrid step out of the shadows, with rings glowing. The hybrid ran a hand through his hair, and suddenly spoke. "Because - what is it? Mab? Ma-duh? Mav? S'mthing like that, I'm sure - your scientists didn't want the higher ups knowing much 'bout you, or they're playing mind games with you." The hybrid rolled his eyes and continued his little speech. "Not much you can do 'bout it, 'nyways."He said that last bit in a mocking tone, something which annoyed Maverick a fair bit. Then, suddenly, the Umbreon hybrid said in a slightly more polite tone, "Hello, Kite, Mab, Ashley." He looked over behind Ashley and seemed mildly surprised at something. Maverick looked as well, and saw Kite, a hybrid who had, as far as he knew, no friends in the entire complex. Maverick started concentrating back on the Umbreon hybrid, who quietly uttered something. Maverick wanted to get things straight. "First off," he began in an annoyed tone, "my name's Maverick. Second, you make a point about the playing mind games thing, and third, what's your name anyway?"

Before he could hear the Umbreon hybrid's answers, Aiden barged through the group, quickly saying, "Geeze People Move out of the way". Then Maverick turned towards the Umbreon hybrid and said, " Now he's gone, what's your answer? Come on, tell me your name! "

Jiro had made it to his room, plopping down upon his bed, and staring at the celing. His bed felt very comfortable to him, ailing his sore body, however to a normal human being it would be anything but. In actuality, the bed was firm and lumpy, but living with these kind of conditions his entire life, not knowing anything else, Jiro didn't really know the difference. His body ached, but he was sure it would go away by itself. Taro's weight had been evenly distributed across his body, so he didn't end up with any serious injuries. Taro had been bullying him for long enough to know how to hurt him without seriously hurting him. After all, the scientists wanted their precious guinea pigs in tact for the next time they decide to experiment on them.

Jiro glanced to the table at the side of his bed. A blank drawing pad sat on it. This one was fresh, so it seemed the scientists had taken his old one not to long ago. Whenever one of his pads came close to filling up, he would always have it taken from him and given a new one. Jiro was a bit discouraged by this. What did they do with his drawings? Burn them? Examine them? Either way, Jiro was a bit discouraged by the fact that all of his works of art were not preserved by him. Part of him, the human part, said to stop drawing altogether, it was pointless if he couldn't keep his works, after all. However, a much larger part of him, his smeargle part, drove him to. It was one of his base instincts to let his tail loose on a piece of paper to see what he could create. It was the art of drawing that was the art itself.

Instincts overpowering his human judgment (as they usually did in this situation) he found himself with his tail in one hand, guiding it across his new pad of paper to create an image. It was odd. Jiro had no idea what to draw. In fact, most of the time he had set out to draw with no actual picture in mind. It was almost as if it was his smeargle half that was creating the picture, not him, almost like they were two separate minds, trapped within the same body. After an hour or so of drawing, his image was complete. It was a scenery picture, with either the sun or the moon setting behind a large mountain. It was more likely the moon, because since Jiro's tail only secreted blue paint, his pictures always contained a blue tint, making his image seem more like a sorrowful nighttime image then one in the day.

As he was marveling at his picture, his stomach let out a loud growl, the loudest one today. Setting down his picture, he placed both hands on his stomach. Man, he was hungry! Dinner most likely would be served soon, so he saw no better option to get some food . He would try to stay away from Taro and eat in peace, as skipping two entire meals a day could have very bad effects on the poor hybrid. He didn't want to wake up in the morning to find he had devoured his pillow while sleeping out of sheer hunger.

Leaving his room, Jiro began to walk down the hallway twords the Cafeteria. He saw what appeared to be a notebook on the floor, however he left it where it was. Whoever it belonged to may go looking for it later, and it was best it was in the same spot it started at. Plus, food was on his mind at the moment, not being generous. A group of hybrids blocked the way through the hall. Apparently they were all talking about something, but what, Jiro didn't know.

"Um…" Jiro said in his usual, quiet voice, attempting to move through. "Excuse me?"

(O.S.S Geez I have a lot of stuff to address :P)

As she peered into the darkness at the intruder, Mav started to speak, "You might not believe it, even if I went into huge detail." He paused. "You see, it just happened today. When I was having my physical, I was suddenly told to lift a whole 3 ton weight, so that's what caused the muscle strain. But then, for some reason, I was directed to the battle arena! Then I noticed that no one was in there. The scientist who was doing the physical set 2 dummies as, you'll never believe it, a Sceptile and a Venusaur, set to an aggressive hard level." He explained his battle with the Venasaur and Sceptile. "And then, I woke up in my room and wondered why I was dragged up the stairs. Then, I went down to the Cafeteria, had my food and then was taken to another physical. I realized at about that point that the first physical was fake! But why...?"

As Jasper stepped out of the shadows, his rings gleaming, she relax just enough to be able to turn back to Mav but watched Jasper out of the corner of her eye. "Because - what is it? Mab? Ma-duh? Mav? S'mthing like that, I'm sure - your scientists didn't want the higher ups knowing much 'bout you, or they're playing mind games with you." Jasper said, rolling his eyes and shrugging. In a mocking tone he continued, "Not much you can do 'bout it, 'nyways. Hello, Kite, Mab, Ashley." Ashley tried to hide her irritation and succeeded, mostly. Although he was kind of a sibling evolution to her, she never felt the least bit close to him.

Jasper seemed surprised to see Kite. "What's going on?" Jasper asked quietly. Seemingly annoyed and obviously unable to hear what he asked, Mav said, "First off, my name's Maverick. Second, you make a point about the playing mind games thing, and third, what's your name anyway?" Pushing through the group Aiden inturrupted the conversation saying, "
Geeze People Move out of the way" Where does he think he's going? Ashley thought, watching his retreating figure. Looking down, she noticed the notebook that he always carried and picked it up. She glanced at the page it fell to and saw her name under Possible Teammate and closed it, smiling to herself. Guess he's planning to put a whole group together. Well if he would give me two minutes of his precious time, he might not have to put me in the list of possibles. Her thoughts were interrupted when Mav spoke again, "Now he's gone, what's your answer? Come on, tell me your name!"

She decided that this would be the best place for her to break in. Trying to keep her voice from sounding irritated and sharp she said "Alright Jasper! I should've figured it was you, and I think we've all had enough of your mocking. If we told you all that we know, what would you do with the information? How would it benefit you? You don't seem to be the type that would ask a question without a good reason. What do you think has been going on around the laboratory lately?" Seeing Jiro walking up to them, she added, "Perhaps we should continue this discussion elsewhere. It's about dinner time anyway." She glance up a clock hanging from the wall.

Jaydin- Sorry, I just saw your post, if anyone is familiar with tests, its me (believe me, my math and science teachers LOVE giving random quizzes, tests that count for like, 25% of our grade and stuff. I hate math and science with a passion this year.) The post itself was fine.

Kansas- Welcome to the Roleplay!

Lostt- Nice post. You're definitely improving on the post length.

Goulerbot- Somewhat short post, but it doesn't fall under the minimum, so its fine, and the post in itself was pretty good.

Gamekrazy- Interesting character you've got there, very good post.

namora- you can edit it if you'd like to, but its okay. Yeah, I could tell it was rushed, but it really is a good post.

All- if you guys could wrap up your conversations, we probably should move onto a new day, I know the first one was forever, but I thought we should probably give people that just joined time to jump in. The next day won't drag on for quite so long, though I've got something planned for the next day.

*rustle rustle*

It had always been a nuisance for Marc to get in and out of narrow door ways and such. His wings made a muffled fluffing sound as he maneuvered his way sideways out of his dorm room.

"hmpf...stupid wings... slept in again too..." Marc said to himself non nonchalantly, yawning as he peered just barely over his wing tip to see outside only to be greeted by the mid day sun. Silence had consumed the corridors and it appeared he was the only one nearby. Shrugging off the strange seclusion, Marcus proceeded quietly down the dim lit hallway, staying close to one side and sliding his talons along the wall with his right hand, creating a soft scratching noise that seemed to echo forever through the silence. It felt like a great deal of time had passed before the hallways finally ended in a large double door. A smell leaked through the cracks of the door which betrayed the room's hidden interior, it was the cafeteria. Marc pushed the doors open calmly, ready to greet everyone with his usual over enthused welcome.

"Morning everyone! Can you believe I slept in Aga--" He cut himself off to see that no one was even sitting down and eating. He glanced cautiously around the room, his bird like eyes darting from left to right. The training room doors on the other side burst open as a boy that he had seen frequently around the complex came out, looking a bit beat up. Obviously finished with a day of training. He walked speedily to his room, pushing passed a group that was just now seen, tucked into a small hallway across the cafeteria.

"What're they doing over there... they know its off limits..." Marcus said to himself silently. Looking at the ground, he noticed a small notebook underneath their feet. Finally sick of not doing anything, Marcus gave a large flap of his wings and a small jump which allowed him to make a large, calculated jump to a spot across the cafeteria where he could grab his favorite muffin and eat breakfast for the first time all day. With another flap of his wings, he grabbed his muffin and glided to the group who was talking about something that seemed rather serious. A kid could be seen behind them, also wanting to know whats wrong. Marcus stood quietly munching on his muffin with large mouth fulls as he listened to the group talk. He stepped back, pulling out a chair and flipping it backwards and resting on it. He continued eating as the group talked and exchanged serious phrases and glances at each other.

"pretty fishy... I wonder what they're up to... Marcus thought to himself as he munched silently. Amidst his thoughts, Marcus finally heard what he wanted to hear, it was Ashley's voice.

"Perhaps we should continue this discussion elsewhere. It's about dinner time anyway." she said over the group. Marcus' head immediately perked up.

"Yeahmpf! Dinner! Lets duu itff! I'm starfing" Marcus exclaimed acting as though he was with them the entire time through a mouth full of muffin, leaping into the air and forgetting about the whirlwind his wings kicked up every time he got too excited. He remained flying above them, unintentionally flapping large gusts of wind over the whole group as he stayed a constant 5 or 6 feet off the ground. Remembering that no one really liked having the wind blown in their faces, Marcus' quickly dropped to the ground in attempt to snuff his excitement a bit but he couldn't help it... he was hungry...

From the Kid's annoyed face, Jasper presumed the younger couldn't hear him. "First off, my name's Maverick. Second, you make a point about the playing mind games thing, and third, what's your name anyway?" Jasper opened his mouth to answer when the Pikachu hybrid weaved his way through the crowd, saying "Geeze People Move out of the way." The Umbreon hybrid smirked, running a hand through his hair again. "Now he's gone, what's your answer? Come on, tell me your name!" the Swampert kid, Mac, burst out angrily.

There was no time to reply, and as it turned out, Ashley seemed perfectly happy to explain his name away for him. Okay, perhaps happy wasn't the best way to put it. "Alright Jasper! I should've figured it was you, and I think we've all had enough of your mocking. If we told you all that we know, what would you do with the information? How would it benefit you? You don't seem to be the type that would ask a question without a good reason. What do you think has been going on around the laboratory lately?"

Jasper scowled, his ears twitching. It was less because of Ashley's words and more because of the two other hybrids that had joined them. The furry mutant-looking one (although, Jasper supposed, they were all very much mutants, but this one always appeared rather beaten up to boot) was not someone he was very much familar with, but - like everyone else - he knew the former was bullied continously. And the other hybrid - a tall teen about eight inches taller than Jasper and with large wings on his back. The older teen was noisily munching away on a muffin and had pulled a chair seemingly out of nowhere to sit on it. Jasper frowned in annoyance, his bands flashing brightly with his annoyance. His wine-red eyes focused on the elder hybrid, fangs baring instinctively and a low growl rumbling in his throat. His annoyance was building.

"Perhaps we should continue this discussion elsewhere. It's about dinner time anyway." Ashley finished off. Jasper's eyes darted to Ashley, before returning warily to the noisy bird hybrid.

"Yeahmpf! Dinner! Lets duu itff! I'm starfing!" the idiotic creature howled, hurting Jasper's tender ears with his shrill, loud voice. His large wings beat about and he flew into the air, sending bits of dust flying into their faces. Jasper shielding his face with his arm, but couldn't help sneezing. Luckily, the idiot dropped down sheepishly after a moment, but Jasper's anger was triggered.

"What is your problem?" He snarled, the growl louder now. He shifted subtly into a stance, in case he had to fight. "We were having an intelligent conversation here!" Jasper's tattoo-like bands glowed brightly, matching his anger and Jasper spat at the ground, but it was quickly apparent that it was not mere spit. The 'spit' sizzled as it hit the floor. If the floor had been any less solid, it would have been dissolved, that much was clear. It was fortunate nobody was standing in that particular spot.

((By the way, Kansas, I'm not insulting you or anything, Jasper just doesn't particulary like your character.))

The figure, whoever it was, stepped out of the shadows of the narrow corridor. Kite recognized him immediately as Jasper. The Umbreon hybrid was easily defined by the gold rings that shimmered on his limbs, ears, and tail, as well as the startling contrast between his pale skin and his hair. Jasper ran his hand through his hair. "Because - what is it? Mab? Ma-duh? Mav? S'mthing like that, I'm sure - your scientists didn't want the higher ups knowing much 'bout you, or they're playing mind games with you." The Umbreon-hybrid rolled his eyes and shrugged, his tail giving a little twitch in harmony with the rest of his body movement. "Not much you can do 'bout it, 'nyways." He turned towards the other two in the hallway. "Hello, Kite, Mab, Ashley."

Kite relaxed his posture upon seeing the hybrid, the chains slinking about somewhat less aggressively, and recrossed his arms across his chest. He knew Jasper, although it was by reputation only. Although he didn't much like to think of other people being a lot like him, he had to admit they did have plenty of similarities. They were both loners, and sometimes expressed psychological instability and mood swings. And he felt rather certain that Jasper also viewed others as inferior to himself. The latter didn't bother Kite at all; he cared very little of what others thought of him, except those who could actually do something about it. However, Jasper was a bit more talkative than himself, and he seemed to lack Kite's bloodlust.

"First off," the person who Kite believed to have a name that began with an M started, "my name's Maverick. Second, you make a point about the playing mind games thing, and third, what's your name anyway?"

Suddenly, another hybrid barged through the hallway, practically shoving people aside. While the others might have moved to accomadate his volume in the narrow corridor, Kite himself didn't move so much as a millimeter. He watched the hybrid storm through the hallway, and felt him brush ever so gently against his arm.

"Now he's gone, what's your answer? Come on, tell me your name!"

Learn some manners, Kite thought, annoyed.

"Um… Excuse me?"

Kite turned ever so slightly to see yet another hybrid. This one was the same Smeargle-hybrid that had gotten squished by a Snorlax-hybrid.

"Alright Jasper! I should've figured it was you, and I think we've all had enough of your mocking. If we told you all that we know, what would you do with the information? How would it benefit you? You don't seem to be the type that would ask a question without a good reason. What do you think has been going on around the laboratory lately?" Ashley's voice sounded sharp and irritated, but at the same time as though she was trying to conceal it. "Perhaps we should continue this discussion elsewhere. It's about dinner time anyway."

"Yeahmpf! Dinner! Lets duu itff! I'm starfing!" Another hybrid had entered the hallway. What was this, a convention center?

Oh great, another genius, Kite thought irritatedly as the bird-hybrid hovered four or five feet above the ground, blowing wind everywhere. He seriously considered zapping him and leaving him unconcious on the ground for the janitors to pick up.

"What is your problem?" Jasper snarled"We were having an intelligent conversation here!" He spit out a lob of acid that left a small pit in the floor.

Now that was amusing. Kite stepped forward, a ever-so-slightly maniacal grin on his face. "I'm going to dinner," he said, chains retracted to wrap themselves around his body. "Anyone care to join me?" He walked forward through the group down the hall, leaving the very distinct (and dangerous) smell of ozone in the air.

The overjoyed flaps of his massive wings definitely wasn't welcome among the group of other morphs, but that was really to be expected.

"Hm, everyone around here is so uptight..." Marcus thought scratching his head while taking an onslaught of malicious stares that seemed to go straight through his soul. He stood uneasily as one of them proceeded to yell at him.

"What is your problem?" He snarled, the growl louder now. He shifted subtly into a stance, in case he had to fight. "We were having an intelligent conversation here!"

Marcus stood awestruck at the boy's bold statement towards him. He quickly shifted from his happy-go-lucky mood to a more serious tone as he bent over to eye length with the small boy, cocking an eyebrow as he spit an acidic glob onto the floor that sizzled away.

"You'd do well to watch your manners, kid. What are you? Like 12? I could step on you." Marcus said snidely through narrow eyes.

With that he reared his head back, pulling globs of snot in his throat into a huge loogie, spitting it on the floor next to the boy's own sizzling glob. The loogie began to burn and sizzle next to the other one. Marcus leaned in closer to the boy and whispered quietly.

"Anything you can do... I can do better..."

He stood back up straight, ruffling his feathers a bit. He spread his wings out to their full span and gave a massive flap, with full intent to knock the small boy off his feet. As the mighty flap let whirlwinds loose at the small kid, Marcus turned around, not waiting for a retort. He had heard another one, the one with chains, talk about eating but he didn't care anymore.

"Seems I'm not wanted. Later." Marcus called over his shoulder as he slowly walked across the cafeteria. "Who's that kid think he is tryin to start crap with me... He probably wont even be able to figure out that I copied his little trick with Mirror Move... Whatever.

He walked to a small counter, grabbing another muffin and remaining silent as he scooted out a chair at a table across the cafeteria and kicked back on two legs, facing the opposite direction and starting on another delicious muffin as he mumbled angry remarks to himself about the rude kid.

The voices went quiet except for one that said "You did well on making it hear but that stroke of luck ends now.." Those words rung through his head all though the voice had stopped. He continued walking through a the dark and was surprised as a man jumped infront of him. The man said he was a scientist but he was a hybrid this confused Aiden. He used a Thunderbolt on the man who jumped and dodged countering it with a Tackle, Aiden smashed into the wall.

"What was that for?" he groaned and then Tackled the man back. He followed it up with a thunderbolt.

"You have worked well" said the man again smashing Aiden into a wall. Aiden became mad and thunderbolted him again and then followed it up with a tackle. The man hit the wall and slumped over.

"Well, well theres the door you can leave now Aiden..." Aiden was confused why didn't the man call him by code. He didn't care as he skipped to the door. He noticed it was creaked slightly open the otherside was a bright light. He grabbed the knob and pulled the light flooded his face. He stepped out and said,".. everything is so.. so.. green." He took a step on the soft ground and then he woke up. "Wh-wh-where was i?" Aiden looked around he was still in his bed. "Man..." he stayed there for a bit then got up. He was hungry he stretched and then walked out of his room. He wanted Dinner. He went down the stairs and turned into the cafeteria.

In the Room he got in the line got his food and sat down. He took a drink of his juice and then a bite of his food. He took the rest of his juice and drank it down while taking small bites of his food. He felt much better while he sat in the room he couldn't go to sleep for two reasons one he lost his journal and two he had to get into the basement soon.

A flash of movement - Jasper's scarlet eyes focused on Kite, before flickering to the idiot, back and forth...Kite had a slightly disturbing grin on his face and Jasper felt a tendril of unsettlement. "I'm going to dinner," the formed hybrid said, his chains retracting to wrap themselves around his body. "Anyone care to join me?" Jasper watched silently as Kite walked forward through the group down the hall, leaving the very distinct (and dangerous) smell of ozone in the air. He sniffed and sneezed again, considering joining Kite. Although Kite was older than Jasper, and he didn't know him very well...Jasper figured it was better than sticking around with the likes of the idiot and the kid - although Ashley seemed interesting and he knew very little about the Smeargle hybrid.

Tilting his head upward defiantly, he watched as the much taller bird hybrid bent down down to Jasper's eye-level. Jasper's three-fingered, one-thumbed hands tightened into fists. A low growl, which had previously stopped after Jasper had spoken, resumed and he bared his fangs once again. The tall teen seemed to take Jasper's spit as a challenge (which it hadn't been) and heaved a loogie far bigger that the spray of Jasper's acid, which sizzled as it hit the floor. Jasper was momentarily stunned, but he hid it well. The tall boy cocked an eyebrow in challenge and Jasper snorted in defiance, unclenching his fists and hooking his thumbs into the belt loops of his pants as though he could care less.

"You'd do well to watch your manners, kid. What are you? Like 12? I could step on you." the tall boy said, his eyes narrow and mean. Jasper scoffed, about to speak. "Anything you can do... I can do better..." the boy whispered in what appeared to have been an attempt to be intimidating. Then he let out fullout whirlwind without any notice. The impact sent Jasper to the ground and he snarled.

"Seems I'm not wanted. Later." the idiot called over his shoulder, walking away. Getting to his feet, Jasper scoffed just loud enough to be heard by the idiot. "Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic."

Maverick listened for the Umbreon hybrid's answer, but found it answered by Ashley. "Alright Jasper! I should've figured it was you, and I think we've all had enough of your mocking. If we told you all that we know, what would you do with the information? How would it benefit you? You don't seem to be the type that would ask a question without a good reason. What do you think has been going on around the laboratory lately?" Ok, Maverick thought. I guess that means the hybrid's name is Jasper.

When Ashley looked towards where Maverick had first walked here from, He followed with his own eyes and sidestepped to let Jiro, who seemed to have come from nowhere, through. He then whispered in Jiro's ear, "Meet me after dinner at my room or maybe in the morning at the training arena." Ashley suddenly spoke up again. "Perhaps we should continue this discussion elsewhere. It's about dinner time anyway."

Maverick was about to agree when some Pidgeot hybrid jumped into the conversation while, apparently, eating something. "Yeahmpf! Dinner! Lets duu itff! I'm starfing!" Suddenly he flew up with enthusiasm, unfortunately flapping his wings so hard, it almost blew Maverick off his feet. Man, he better stop that before things get nasty! Almost as though reading his thoughts, the hybrid stopped and landed, but not before Jasper growled, said "What is your problem? We were having an intelligent conversation here!" and spat what appeared to be acid on the ground. Wow, looks like that set him off… Jasper's rings suddenly glowed brightly, causing Maverick to shield his strong vision with his arm before the light Jasper gave off blinded him. The other hybrid, who Maverick paid almost no attention to before said, "I'm going to dinner, anyone care to join me?" and with that he promptly left the room, leaving behind a very distinct ozone smell.

With that, the Pidgeot hybrid spoke in a menacing tone, "You'd do well to watch your manners, kid. What are you? Like 12? I could step on you. " He reared his head up and spat out a huge blob of acid, and the hybrid leaned in, saying, "Anything you can do... I can do better…" Then he stood up straight, flapped his wings, and blew Jasper over. If Jasper didn't mock me so much, I would have cared a lot more about that. The Pidgeot hybrid called over his shoulder as he walked away, "Seems I'm not wanted. Later." After Jasper got up, Maverick heard him say, "Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic."

Maverick suddenly said, "Wow! That was pretty sudden. Don't you agree?" He turned and looked at the crowd of people who had gathered during the conversation, which now held only him, Jasper, Jiro and Ashley, and with Jiro only being here because he wanted to pass through, that could soon change. Maverick faced Ashley and asked, "Now, what was that about rumors?"

Entering the hallway Marcus, a Pigeot hybrid spoke up, "Yeahmpf! Dinner! Lets duu itff! I'm starfing" He lept into the air and sent a whirlwind whipping around the group, causing Ashley to sneeze a couple of times in the dust it stirred up. Man! This guy needs to cut the sweets out of his diet! Luckily, he stopped as sudden as he started and the hallway grew quiet again. Noticing that Kite was about to do something to Marcus, she started to move to stop but stopped when Jasper started to growl.

"What is your problem?" He snarled, the growl louder now. He shifted subtly into a stance, ready for a fight . "We were having an intelligent conversation here!" He needs to stay calm. I didn't like it anymore than he did, but Marcus didn't mean it! She touched her delicate nose, frustrated that her sense of smell was temporarily diminished. Jasper spat out on the ground, which surprised Ashley when it began to sizzle. Undaunted, Marcus eyed the younger boy and arrogantly spat acidic spit on the ground next to Jasper's saying, "You'd do well to watch your manners, kid. What are you? Like 12? I could step on you. Anything you can do... I can do better..." Ashley sighed, disgusted. What a childish fight.... Marcus accidentally blows dust in Jasper's face.... Jasper spits and Macus spits back.... How ridiculous...

Kite walked toward the cafeteria, grinning like he enjoyed the whole thing. "I'm going to dinner," he said, chains retracted to wrap themselves around his body. "Anyone care to join me?" Ashley sneezed two more times on the ozone smell he left behind. Well, he's definitely not helping anything.... Knocking Jasper down with a massive whirlwind (and blowing around more dust), Marcus walked into the cafeteria calling over his shoulder, Seems I'm not wanted. Later." Snarling, Jasper stood up and sneer just loud enough to be heard, "Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic." Ashley sighed, thinking about the ludicrousness of the whole scene. These guys need a referee and I'm not volunteering!!

Massaging her temples, she tried to think of something to say to Jasper that would fit after what just happened. Adopting a slight growl in her own voice, she turned to Jasper, "You guys sure know how to stir things up around here! I know that Marcus was clearly at fault as well, but you know as well as I do that he didn't mean the first whirlwind. If we start fighting among ourselves, what will happen to us if the scientists decide to destroy us? Not one hybrid has managed to escape yet acting alone." She paused, letting her words sink in. Baring her fangs, she added, "I won't tell you how to act or how to live, but if you start a fight with another hybrid, I will stop it. Other than that we should have no problems."

Covering her fangs again and softening her voice she continued so softly that only Jasper's keen ears would be able to pick it up, "To answer your earlier question, I'm not exactly sure what's going on. You know as well as I do that the scientists can't be trusted, and their behavior and the weird occurrences lately make me more sure of that than ever. Whatever the case, I plan on exploring the basement since it seems to be to root of everything. You can either join my group, explore the basement yourself, or just stay out of it all. I won't tell you what to do. You just need to be aware that someday soon this place will probably become a pandemonium." She walked toward the dining area but stopped and called over her shoulder. "By the way, watch you back or you'll attract more of the scientists' attention than you want or that is healthy." She went into the cafeteria, hoping that Jasper understood. Hearing Mav asking her a question she motioned for him to follow her.

Aiden began to exit the room when he noticed Kite he sat down next to the older hybrid. "So.. did you hear? We are going to explore the basement.. we sure could use a Strong Dude Like you.." said Aiden Hoping to Flatter the Hybrid so that he would come. "Hold on a Minute" he said. Aiden walked back and grabbed his Tray stacking it with the rest. "So.. are you gonna come or no? So far I am and i think Ashley is.." He walked closer and sat. " Don't you think it would be easy taking over?" He scratched his head. " 'cuz i do i mean we have pokemon powers and they don't.." he stopped thinking he was talking to much. "Well, see me tommorow with you answer I'm Tired" he walked off.

Reaching the staircase he walked up he was back in the narrow hallway. The crowd had definetley died. Good not so many people. He opened his door. He looked all around for his Journal but he couldn't find it. Aiden got out a blank piece of paper and began to write something down. It looked like a football play when he was Finished it had the Xs and the Os and the lines. He labeled the Os Stronger Hybrids and the Xs weaker hybrids so far he had down Him as an X and Ashley down as an O he was going to add more when he got more teammates.

While waiting for Ashley to reply to his own question, Maverick took the opportunity to think about the events of the day. It was a habit of his to do such things while he was bored. What a day. First, the physical that might be just a mind game, then Jiro getting crushed, then this conversation where I met Jasper, and now the sudden fight between Jasper and that Pidgeot hybrid… what an eventful day. His thoughts were interrupted when Ashley started talking to Jasper. "You guys sure know how to stir things up around here! I know that Marcus was clearly at fault as well, but you know as well as I do that he didn't mean the first whirlwind. If we start fighting among ourselves, what will happen to us if the scientists decide to destroy us? Not one hybrid has managed to escape yet acting alone. I won't tell you how to act or how to live, but if you start a fight with another hybrid, I will stop it. Other than that we should have no problems." Maverick was beginning to wonder whether Ashley had heard him at all. She continued, but in a voice too soft for Maverick to hear. Obviously not meant for me to hear… Ashley started to walk to the Cafeteria, motioning for him to follow. Ahhh… so she did hear me… On the way, Maverick said to Jasper, "You don't seem very happy about me, at the moment, do you? Ah well, I heard first impressions never last. "

The kid suddenly said, "Wow! That was pretty sudden. Don't you agree?" He turned and looked at their crowd. Jasper gave a simple nod, not feeling the kid would understand anything more. Ashley massaged her temples, turning on him with something that looked like anger in her face.

"You guys sure know how to stir things up around here! I know that Marcus was clearly at fault as well, but you know as well as I do that he didn't mean the first whirlwind. If we start fighting among ourselves, what will happen to us if the scientists decide to destroy us? Not one hybrid has managed to escape yet acting alone." So, Marcus. That must be the idiot's name. Jasper gave a little shrug. Yes, he was at fault -and Jasper acknowledged that- but there was no way he was going to apologize to the idi-to Marcus, if that's what she was getting at. Ashley paused, letting her words sink in. Baring her fangs, she added, "I won't tell you how to act or how to live, but if you start a fight with another hybrid, I will stop it. Other than that we should have no problems."

In a softer, quieter tone (so the kid couldn't hear it, Jasper presumed), Ashley continued. "To answer your earlier question, I'm not exactly sure what's going on. You just need to be aware that someday soon this place will probably become a pandemonium." Frankly, Jasper had to agree with her. Even with the kid, (though hopefully not the idiot), there was strength in numbers...

She walked toward the dining area but stopped and called over her shoulder. "By the way, watch your back or you'll attract more of the scientists' attention than you want or that is healthy." She went into the cafeteria, and, idly, Jasper followed. It wasn't as though he had much else to do and besides - he was curious.

"You don't seem very happy about me, at the moment, do you? Ah well, I heard first impressions never last. " the kid said to Jasper, and he chose to ignore the comment. Ashley would probably get mad if he replied, and for the life of him - he was too curious to quit now.

Snatching up a meal consisting of (twelve) cherries and (fourteen) strawberries, Jasper counted the steps to the table silently in his head. One...two...three...seventeen...twenty-four... At last, he reached the table and sat his tray down, glancing warily at the kid and Ashley.

"So you know, I'm with you." he hissed quietly, just loud enough that the kid should be able to hear him and the Flareon hybrid would understand perfectly well. "But the basement...that's not smart." he gave a single shake of his head. "They - the scientists - must know 'bout these rumors that been flying 'round, impossible for them not to." Jasper's eyes darted around warily. "I 'pect this might be a test or something, but even if it's not, they'll be 'specting somebody to try and break out, so if we do go, we gotta disable the cameras..." Jasper thought for a moment. "Kite, or the Pikachu hybrid might be able to do that, but I dunno." He popped a cherry in his mouth.

Surprised that Jasper was following them, Ashely quickly grabbed an apple, a roll, and a glass of water, not hungry enough to eat much more. Sitting at a secluded table, she looked up when Jasper started giving them a wary look."So you know, I'm with you." he hissed quietly, "But the basement...that's not smart." he gave a single shake of his head. "They - the scientists - must know 'bout these rumors that been flying 'round, impossible for them not to... I 'pect this might be a test or something, but even if it's not, they'll be 'specting somebody to try and break out, so if we do go, we gotta disable the cameras..." Jasper thought for a moment. "Kite, or the Pikachu hybrid might be able to do that, but I dunno." When Ashley was sure that Jasper was finished speaking, she nodded at him thoughtfully and answered just as softly, "I understand that, Jasper..... I really do. But I feel that we have no choice but to explore the basement." She paused, trying to gather all of her thoughts together.

"I know that going into the basement is risky, but we have to consider what may happen if we don't. By what has happened to Mav and some others, I think it's safe to say that there's some kind of experiment going on in the basement that they don't want us to know about. Another thought that I had is that maybe the extra physical is a way for them to see which hybrids are the most valuable. Maybe they think that keeping so many of us around is a waste of resources or even dangerous." She scanned the room looking for anyone who looked suspicious. Satisfied, she continued, " Plus, the scientists seem to be more cautious around us than they used to. What happens when they consider us too dangerous to keep around? Yes, we could try escape the laboratory without going into the basement, but I hate to leave anyone trapped down there and besides, we need to know what they're up to. Ignorance may be bliss anywhere else but here it can kill."

She took a long drink of water and a bite of apple. "Aiden- the Pikachu hybrid- believes that we can simply storm the basement, blasting at any human that we see, but I can see that we both think that handling it in that way is naive and foolish. The scientists made us this way, didn't they? They should know how to keep us under control..... So if we do indeed go into the basement, we need to be extremely carful. Jasper, will you go with me to talk to Aiden? Perhaps together we can convince him that caution is the better way. I also have something that belongs to him that I need to return." Turning to Mav, she added, "You can come, too, if you want. I'll explain anything you don't understand later." She figured that after what had happened to him and the fact that Jasper didn't seem disturbed by his presence that he could be trusted.

Jiro observed the situation as events unfolded infront of him. It seemed that the Umbreon hybrid and the Pidgeot hybrid had gotten into a slight dispute with each other, though who exactly was at fault, Jiro could not tell. They both seemed equally responsible to him. The Umbreon hybrid, Jasper, he believed the name was, spit acid onto the floor out of annoyance. The Pidgeot did the same, and while to onlooking pokemon it looked like the real deal, Jiro could tell the difference.

Mirror move... he absently thought. Because of his potential to know any pokemon move, the scientists had tried to get him to sketch all that he could. He could only guess there were a handful of moves he hadn't learned, belonging to pokemon whom the scientists hadn't captured yet. Regardless, Jiro was attack-wise enough to tell the Pidgeot was merely copying the move, and not genuinely using it. Once their ordeal had ended, the Swampert hybrid, whos name he believed was Maverick, moved aside to let him through, and Jiro indeed took the oppritunity.

"Meet me after dinner at my room or maybe in the morning at the training arena."
Jiro was suprised at the Swamperts words. That had came completely out of the blue. He merely continued walking twords the cafeteria as if it hadn't happened. He wondered what he wanted with him. Nonetheless, he would go. He couldn't say no to anybody. That was his problem.

Moving into the cafeteria, he looked around. No Taro in sight, which was good for him. The big lug had probably retired for the evening. Keeping with his hybrid qualities, he had a Snorlax's lazyness. Late to rise, early to bed. And that meant that Jiro was safe to eat in peace. Lining up and getting his dinner, Jiro spotted an empty table off in the distance, and proceeded to move twords it, to eat by himself as he usually did. As he was walking, he passed by the table where Maverick, Jasper, and Ashley were sitting, and couldn't help but overhear a bit of their conversation.

"They - the scientists - must know 'bout these rumors that been flying 'round, impossible for them not to." Jasper's eyes darted around warily. "I 'pect this might be a test or something, but even if it's not, they'll be 'specting somebody to try and break out, so if we do go, we gotta disable the cameras..."

Again, Jiro continued onward as if he had heard nothing. They were planning on investigating the basement? And, to that extent, possibly attempting to break out? True, Jiro had thought more then once that what the scientists were doing was wrong, and his life inside this building was far from perfect, but he knew to never go against what they wanted you to do. He was one of the more obedient experiments, because he knew the defiant ones were the ones who got punished, sometimes in very cruel ways. And of course it never crossed his mind, not even for one second that an attempt to sucessfully break was possible. These scientists had created them, and though he didn't know exactly what they had up their sleeves, he knew they would be able to keep them in line somehow. And even if they were able to somehow escape sucessfully, he knew deep down that it still would, in a way, end in failure. His body had been drastically altered. Humans on the outside would all see him as some type of freak. There was no way he could hide his features like other hybrids could, and he was sure his tail would attract a fair bit of attention.

Now, though he was loyal to the scientists, would he rat the others out? Heavens no. They would be severely punished, and that would haunt the Smeargle hybrid as long as he lived. No, he decided to simply stay out of their affairs. If they suceeded, good for them, but if they failed, Jiro couldn't say he had any part of it. Finishing up his meal, which was extremely satisfying concidering he had no lunch, he retired to his room, laying on his bed once more, and drawing a bit, before putting his tail and paper to rest, and getting some sleep. In the morning he would go to the training room to meet with that Swampert. He wondered what he wanted to talk about...
