In B/W we spotted before technical references to R/S/E, but in B2/W2 there seems to be even more of them.

I know it's not Dewford Town, but it looks kinda like it, especially with that pier on the right.

This one looks similar to houses in Pacifidlog Town.

No, I wasn't talking about your idea, I meant Wombateiro's idea of having Rayquaza stop Groudon and Kyogre, but for some reason, you would go after Groudon/Kyogre, but not Rayquaza. The thing about your idea is that Rayquaza wouldn't be able to stop Groudon AND Kyogre, when it clearly could before and has the ability to.

Well if you think about it, even though they are loved dearly by many, there was a lot that was just plain wrong with their plans, etc. in the originals. This is where the remakes would come in, especially since they even had it said that it would be pointless to do the exact same thing. They could actually improve on the story while keeping the main basics intact.

One of the changes could be so Rayquaza probably only takes out one of them(the opposite) while you're left with handling the one standing(your mascot). I mean come on(I didn't really keep up with the anime when the colossal battle thing was going on, so I'm not sure how that played out entirely) but I doubt Rayquaza would be able to subdue both that easily(although the GBA's limits could be why it just 'screamed' while they ran off). It would be a little more interesting and a bit more realistic, imo, if it was able to subdue one entirely(the opposing one) and at least weaken the other before it has had it's fill of battle, especially if they both 'help out' in a sense to take on it and just have a triple threat period. The only way I could see him doing the former is if he arrived that late in the battle where both Kyogre and Groudon are weak, but I'm sure it would be in the interest of the game to get him there asap; so they probably haven't gotten so far as to being able to be taken out by him single-handedly.

Sorry I went on a bit there, just one of the instances I hope would get right if they do split them. Others could be making the teams a bit 'smarter' with their plans, etc.

Or, like you said, since we are getting B2 and W2, we could possibly see one Emerald remake as GF is being more unpredictable now, but I still see it unlikely. ;) See? Not gonna shoot off your idea entirely as I'm hoping for a 3rd gen remake period, haha.

And again, there are 2 ways to obtain most of the Hoenn Legends already: 1-From the original GBA games themselves, and 2-HG/SS. If you don't have either of these games, you can still trade to get these Pokemon with people who do.

With the 3DS lacking the GBA slot, as has been said before, and not knowing what will become of things once the 6th gen(?) arrives, I guess we won't know how long that will keep up.

It also will become more of a convenience thing rather than just 'oh, we can trade 5 gens, one after another' as I'm sure having EVERY single Pokemon be obtained in like 2 games wouldn't exactly be in their best interest probably.

True but you could get Ho-oh & Lugia in FRLG from Navel Rock and you saw what happened, just because legendaries exclusive to that game are available in other games doesn't rule out the need of a remake, there are other factors that comply.

I think there's a huge misunderstanding about what happens at the end of the Weather Crisis. Rayquaza never actually battles Groudon and Kyogre. It has the ability/authority to calm the two of them, not by literally defeating them, but something about it's very presence calms Groudon and Kyogre. That's why it is regarded as the Trio Leader, it's like they have some kind of respect for Rayquaza for whatever reason.

I'm kinda torn between the 2. Personally, I'd much rather have a new Ruby since I have the original. But my brain tells me it might make more sense for just an Emerald remake, but that's only if they wanted to keep the Weather Crisis story in it. It's all really confusing.

Also, look for the Regis in B2/W2. If they're in those games, I'd say chances are that we won't be seeing R/S/E remakes. BUT, if they aren't there, chances are better.

Those were events, and if I'm not mistaken, you had to actually go somewhere to download the event, you couldn't just use it like Wi-Fi at your home. Ho-oh and Lugia were not easily obtainable in anyway before HG/SS because of these:

1=Navel Rock was an Event, and the old Events were much harder to get than today.
2=Ho-oh was also in Colosseum, but you had to finish the story mode AND Mt. Battle. You'd also have to own a Gamecube, link cable and other things necessary to trade to obtain the Ho-oh.
3=XD had Lugia, but again, you'd have to have a Gamecube and the other stuff if you wanted it on your GBA game.

So while they were in previous games, they weren't exactly easy to come by. The difference between Groudon and Kyogre from Lugia and Ho-oh is that in both HG/SS and in R/S/E, they were encountered normally and did not require anything extra to obtain them.

Fair enough but there are still some Pokémon from Hoenn that are only obtainable via RSE, yes there is Hoenn sound and several in Unova but not all are available IIRC.

Imo R/S/E soundtrack in 5 gen soundfont will OHKO other soundtracks. That's imo one of important reasons to make those remakes.

There are some good gen V style remixes of gen III songs on YouTube. Though, those usually sound nothing like the finished product haha. But I'm looking forward to it. We already got a little taste of Hoenn Legendary music in HGSS, as well as whatever Hoenn Sounds plays (never used it, so I'm not sure).

Well RSE music was the best out of all the games IMO and for them to improve on them would just make it ten times better as you've said, not to mention the GB Sounds assuming they return that into the remakes.

Also, I doubt you could really class this as a hint but still interesting, the new city in B2W2 looks very familiar to Pacifidlog town Town in Hoenn:

Yeah I wouldn't count that as a hint or anything. ;( More like coincidence...

^A serious coincidence. I don't think anything in this game is hinting at R/S remakes, really.

But I do hope that Pacificlog Town will be remade to be much bigger that two logs strapped together, and actually be on top of a coral reef like the description says it is. Maybe even see a bunch of people standing with their Corsola, see they live in the coral. That'd be super cute. <3

I'll try and comment on some other stuff in this thread later, but I agree with the above idea about having Pacifidlog Town featuring actual colony of Corsola below it as well as Trainers standing around with Corsola. I mean, you can't even catch Corsola in Pacifidlog Town or any of the adjacent water routes. -.- The only iota of a reference in gameplay is someone who's willing to trade away a Corsola in order to receive Bellosom...

I wouldn't say that new town's resemblance to Pacifidlog is coincidence because R/S remakes will technically need buildings like this, as well as B/W's and B2/W2's desert and dive areas. All those thing will be simply imported to R/S remakes, maybe with some little graphic changes.

Btw, man at Valor Lakefront says:
"Do you know about the Space Center in the Hoenn Region? A rocket launching into space... I must see that during my lifetime"
We know that rocket launching in R/S/E is only mentioned, so it should be really shown in remakes. That man also mentions seeing Lugia, Ho-oh and dancing Clefairy. We saw all that expect of mentioned rocket launching.

To see something like that on 3DS would really be great, you can just imagine how good the cutscene would be and even if it's not on 3DS it will still be 3D rendered.

It'd be great if you could actually go on the spaceship as an event and fight Deoxys. You know. Like the rumor. lolol

If there are remakes, I would like them to redesign the Hoenn Region to make it a little better. One common complaint is the long water routes that dominate the last section of the game. A problem compounded in Emerald with Juan and Wallace being Water-Type only.

If they added some small islands along the water routes, there would be an opportunity to battle non-water-type pokemon. Also, you could have a wide variety of locals in those islands. One could be an expansive cave, another is a volcanic area with Fire-Types.

Also, Change the Water-Type Gym to something else. Because that section of the game has too many water types. Having a another type at Sotopolis would help break up the dominance of Water-Types in that section of the game.

Change for what type? Water type gym is perfect for Sootopolis. Also, I noticed that first half of Hoenn's badges ends with fire gym (reference to land) and second half ends with water gym (reference to sea). So, imo gyms should be kept as they are now.

The point of a remake is to make the game pretty and bump it up to this generation while keeping the same things it had originally. Maybe add a few changes, but don't drastically alter the story or gyms like that, no. That's not a good idea. Besides, Hoeen is a tropical region. If you were expecting it to have any less water than it has, you need to play another game. Simple as that.

Great observation. I noticed that as a kid too, and thought it worked nice. Besides, there's plenty of land in the beginning of the game. So that's another way that it's even in land and sea. People that complain about sea routes need to realize what Hoenn is based on and look at the story more. Of course there's going to be water. Were you expecting ice?

Eh. It's an aright idea, but the big problem is space. This is not Wind Waker - adding more islands, unless they were tiny and awful and stuff, would require adding more water for them to sit on anyway which kinda defeats the point of it. Also the idea of a volcanic area kinda clashes with Sotopolis City being an inactive volcano and yeahhhh idk. It's cool but it's probably overdoing it and there'd be space issues.

Not, tbh, that I thought Hoenn was ever bad at all. The Water sections never bothered be since the variety of areas elsewhere more than made up for it. Probably my favourite region in any of the games.

There was already a volcanic area...anyone forget Mt. Chimney, haha?

Also, I too love the water routes as it sets it apart from most of the other regions; it's a nice change from having land dominant areas...and, as has been said before, it's a tropical area anyways. In all honesty, it wasn't that the water routes was bad but, moreso, that there was kind of a big lack in poke variety; I think most people hated the routes because of that rather than the routes themselves.

Ha, this is bringing back memories of not knowing how the heck to get into Sootopolis for a little while at first; using Dive to access a town was something really neat.

It's still really odd that it would just show up and they'd be like "oh god, Rayquaza is here, let's scram"; Especially seeing as how they were really disturbed by the powers of the orbs awakening them; it just doesn't seem like it would really have ended that way. I'm not saying you're wrong, but rather that that could be one of things they could freshin up if they make 2 games instead of one(to keep true to the originals) yet still have the big battle, with your mascot standing tall in the end. :P
