Kind of a pointless question, but what do posts look like for you?
    • What is your post style display (standard / legacy)?
    • Do you display avatars?
    • Do you display signatures?
    • What postbit elements do you have shown?

A picture is worth a thousand words:

I display everything, they have it there for a reason.

I use Legacy though! It just looks nicer imo.

I have it set to legacy and I let everything show. All the extra bits don't bother me, I actually don't even notice them unless I want to check something about that person, but that's rare.

I could probably do without the postbit information, but as for avatars and signatures I generally like to see what people have.

I prefer Legacy, it looks less cluttered. I display everything, just because I hate seeing the empty spaces in the user info on the left.

I decided to test legacy after reading this and it definitely does look nice, though I'm very used to standard lol.

I have mine set to show join date, age, gender, post count, rank image, and user title. I actually had nature unchecked but it shows anyway (as does everything else I had unchecked iirc) on Route 167+ standard sooo. I display both avatars and signatures since I feel they're a vital part of figuring out a little about the user's personality.

I use Legacy and I display avatars and signatures. It's always been like this since I joined, since I'm too lazy to block any post bits out.

I use Legacy. It's the best post style evar imo. I have everything displayed, actually... from signatures, to natures, to location too. I don't feel like unchecking those options because I'm sorta used to seeing postbits like that. The Legacy postbit organized everything. :P

    • Standard. It means that things look a little bit better on mobile displays even when I'm not using a mobile-specific style, as well as being less cramped in general for both the postbit and the actual post.
    • I always display avatars, lest I forget who is who.
    • Signatures are always visible and repeated. To me, it's a way of expressing oneself, and one should embrace it whenever possible.
    • I allow every single element to be shown, as it does give information, no matter how useful or useless one might find them.

From what I'm told, Legacy = the avatar and postbit on the left rather than on top? Yeah... I don't like that, so I don't use that. I think it looks a whole lot nicer spread out along the top of the post, I much prefer it that way. I think having things on the left makes it look too much like it's "just a message board". It looks generic, I think.

I also display everything. I like to know and see as much as I can. It bothers me a little bit when a member hasn't filled out all the parts on their postbit. I like to know gender, age, location, join date... all of it. I realise that's their right, but it annoys me lol.

I don't understand it when people hide parts of the postbit - particularly the parts that show for every member like post count and join date. If I were to do that I'd feel like I was flying blind.

I didn't even know of legacy but I just switched now and I'm finding it much better. I include everything that the message board presets. I personally don't like changing things. I don't like signatures, to be honest I don't even like avatars (I mean could I not find something better than what I have). But I just use the default system. And they both seem to be included.

But legacy suits me better as it reminds me of the old UBB boards which I always thought were really good. I'm not very creative and I tend to like things staying the same.

    Edit:

The one thing I really don't like about PC is how big the banner is. Is there a way to get rid of it? Ok me = stupid. Just choose a different skin but I do like the colours of New Directions just not the banner.

I use legacy because it keeps the thread all nice and aligned which makes it look tidier to me.
I always display avatars because I remember pictures better than names so without it I'd have trouble knowing who's who.
I always display signatures because most people actually spend a lot of time making a signature so the least I could do is look at it. If I could disable certain peoples signatures though I would do because some just annoy the crap outta me.
I display most post bits just in case I need to check something out about then, like if I needed to have a conversation starter for example. But I've disabled the useless ones like nature because it's just completely pointless. I also disabled contact images because they don't always fit in with the styles so just look ugly.

I use Legacy, and I display everything. Until someone got me to use Legacy, I didn't think the standard display was too bad.

What is your post style display (standard / legacy)?
Legacy, so that this place is consistent with almost every other forum ever, and it's just better: takes up less vertical space on pages and keeps all user information in one area.

    Do you display avatars?
    Yes.

    Do you display signatures?
No, due to the obnoxious sizes they're allowed to be. More concerningly, I often found that regulars with large signatures (ergo huge posts) posting a couple of lines overshadow randoms with verbose posts of quality.

What postbit elements do you have shown?
    All.

I'm weird... I originally used Standard when I first joined, I switched to legacy in 2007 because someone mentioned it, I kept Legacy until September 2011 when I released Stunfisk'd because I thought Standard made postbits look better on that. Now I use Top Dog, where something is missing on Legacy display and I haven't got it fixed yet AND I haven't changed back to Legacy since I haven't got around to it, now I'm used to it which kinda creates an issue for me so I'm probably never going to swap back, lol. I display signatures and avatars though!

Oh yeah, I have usertitles disabled so I don't get sick of my own, and locations etc. I have join date, posts and genders though!

    I'm using standard at the moment, with purple New Directions. I've tried legacy many times, but I just couldn't get used to it. I might give it another go some time, seeing as it looks like a lot of people actually use it. I was expecting a majority to use standard. xD;

I display signatures and avatars, I haven't a clue why some people find them annoying. I love the creativity people put into making them.

I haven't really thought about disabling anything in the post bit. a) I don't see the point, that information is there for a reason, it's not like it's irrelevant. b) Bouncing off what I said about it not being irrelevant - if I wanted to start talking to someone, it's cool to know those little things about them before mistaking their gender or something.

Like this, and with signatures off:
    [PokeCommunity.com] Postbit.

Do not even try and attempt to surpass my incredible Paint finesse, for it would be futile!
But, seriously, why can't I use the clock system that makes sense to me? Or have I just failed to find the button that changes that so far? The same goes, by the way, for the date, which I would prefer to be 27.12.11 or 27.12.2011, (taking the above example), but it's not that bad, as it's not as confusing to me.

Legacy postbit, avatars and usertitles on, rank images and signatures off, only displaying age/gender/location/postcount/online.

I find rank images a waste of space, natures don't interest me, I don't care when you joined, and if I want contact info, I'll go on your profile. As for signatures, I turned them off in 2010 when I was browsing on a PS3, and since I've had pretty small screen resolutions since then, decided to keep them off.

For the record, I cannot imagine myself ever using standard postbit on PC ever again. I've been using Legacy for most of time I've been here, which has been way too damn long.

    tl;dr version:
    [PokeCommunity.com] Postbit.
