Typhlosion
Pidgeot
Sudowoodo
Ampharos
Red Gyarados
Dragonite

I don't like grtass types much

Typhlosion
Machoke
Red Gyarados
Lugia
Those four were my team in all Silver games I've played
And other two... I'm not sure, some Electric and Grass pokemon should be the right choice but I haven't decided yet

Typhlosion
Ampharos
Sneasel -> Weavile
Pidgeot
Bellosom
Red Gyarados

In Heart gold
Mostly Undecided but i know for sure i'll choose Meganium as a starter

Just look down a few spaces to see my Pre-Determined team...it's the one that got me through Gold and Crystal.

I can honestly say I dislike all three Johto starters. I just want them because they are Johto starters. I will get each, and bung them over to Platinum before starting with w/e and ditching it as soon as I catch some more guys. I want to build a monotype team. Not Bug, I'm doing that on Platinum. Maybe Grass, in which case I would obviously start with Chikorita. Then a Bellsprout at Sprout Tower, and from there I honestly don't know, because I never played GSC.

This team might change:

-Vaporeon (I want one to follow me [lol] and I like Vaporeon)
-Croconaw
-Umbreon (I'll try to have a shiny one on my team)
-Electabuzz (?)
-Scizor (?)
-Miltank(?)

I am really not sure of the last three, but like I said the team might change during gameplay when I actually know what Pokemon I would want on my team.

This would be my team

Meganium
Tyranitar
Heracross
Blissey
Kingdra
Crobat

How can any of you make a team without wobbuffet!?!?!?!?

- Meganium
- Wobbuffet
- Gyarados*/Kingdra
- Nidoqueen/Ho-oh
- Pidgeot
- Hitmontop/Marowak/Tyranitar

I'm a little torn on this one, honestly. Silver was the first Pokemon game I played, so part of me wants to resurrect my old team, which was:

Cyndaquil
Pidgeot
Mareep
Wooper
Dragonair
Lugia

Yes, I didn't like evolving my Pokemon back then. But actually, I liked keeping Dragonair from evolving because it didn't have a 4x Ice weakness - no Flying type.

I'm considering this as my new in-game Soul Silver team:

Typhlosion
Pidgeot
Ampharos
Lapras/Kingdra
Umbreon/Scizor
Lugia

I haven't used Ubers in an in-game team in a long time, but I'll probably make an exception here out of nostalgia and because Lugia is one of my favorite Pokemon ever.

-Meganium
-Umbreon
-Red Gyarados
-Tyranitar
-Ho-oh
-Heracross/Miltank/Porygon-Z/Alakazam/Scizor/Scyther

Lol, the last one is really tough. There are a lot that I want. xD

my team would be based on my original team from silver that I had before the internal battery died.

Meganium
Lugia
Skarmory
Ninetales
Jolteon
Pigeot (though seeing as i have 2 other flying types on here already he may be replaced with Tyranitar)

So many typhlosions @_@. I did Typhlosion way too many times in gold and silver. Time for something different... CHIKORITA! If I remember correctly that was the "expert" level starter to use back in the day =P.

Not sure about the actual team though... I always used Graveler to help me up to Ecruteak and Ampharos just because...

Grass ain't preferable for a start considering the fact that Valkner, the first gym leader, is a Flying Type. You'll just get pwned. I'll choose Totodile as my starter. Hehehe,...

Yeah, that's why it was considered "expert" starter. It's not even that hard to be Falkner with the chikorita. I'd probably just go and get a geodude (pretty sure I can find one in that area above Ruins of Alph) and train that up to fight for me. If all else fails, there's always spearow/pidgey to train and just overpower Falkner. (thanks sprout tower!) I could even get bellsprout and just trade it for that onyx named rocky.

Typhlosion
Sunflora
Gyarados
Pikachu
Ursaring

That takes care of having a Fire, Water, and Grass type. As for the remaining, Im still choosing between Sudowoodo, Murkrow, Hitmonchan, and Jynx.

P.S. Im in Japan, and there seems to be some sort of downloadable Jirachi (to HGSS)if you get the POKEMON MELEE game.

Without Legendaries-
Typloshin
Shiny Crobat
Red Gyarados
Pidgeot/Gliscor
Weavile
Houndoom

With Legendaries
Typloshin
Lugia
Suicune
Raikou
Hitmontop
Lucario

I was actually thinking about it the other day, I even went through my old G/S guide and drew an outline through it.

Meganium
Ampharos
Dragonite
Espeon
Magmortar
Gliscor
Gengar
Scizor
Lapras

those are the 9 pokemon I'm planning on using for the first half of the game (Johto). And I'll change my team up every so often. Depending on who I'm wanting to train, etc.

I Believe that I will have the following team:Typhlosion,Crobat,Pidgeot,Dragonite,Scizor and last but not the least, an Espeon. Actually I am not TOTALLY sure about the last one.
