What are the top five things you are saving up for, or would like to save up for and why?

For me, my priority saving list would be...
    1. A car, because I would like to be able to get around without having to ask to borrow my dad's or relying on public transportation.
    2. A new iPhone, because mine is in need of a replacement and I'd like to stay with an iPhone as my means of communication.
    3. Some of my necessary living expenses, including food, insurance, car payments, subscriptions, and cell phone payments.
    4. Costs that I would pay when I would eat out, spend while hanging out with a friend, and use on things that I don't necessarily need, like new music, video games, less subscriptions, other entertainment purposes, and the like.
    5. Money for eventually moving out of my dad's house a few years after I graduate from college, because I can't live with him forever (nor would I like to).

    1. An actual house. - Because I'm currently living with roomates / parents while I go to university, so afterwards, I want to actually have someplace by myself.
    2. A set of money for bills - ie. Electric, Hydro, Phone and Insurance.
    3. A new car - I honestly hate my old car. Its beyond repairing. The only thing I'm worried about is the car insurance; its so high nowadays...so I'm going to wait until I'm just a little bit older for that.
    4. Money to travel - One of my personal goals in life is to travel. ^^ My first destination? Japan.
    5. Some...extra money for pleasure. Like entertainment.

    1. London - Got a band trip there, so this has been getting all the money that I've earned, which...isn't a lot. I'm broke and still looking for a job.
    2. Entertainment - Nintendo mugs me.
    3. Travel - I'd like to visit a friend or two. I'd rather them visit me, but no one wants to come to Alabama.
    4. Loans - GONNA HAVE TO PAY THOSE BACK SO YEAH
    5. Don't think I have a 5th.

The only long term thing I will be saving for is a house. That's it, other things will just fall into place in time. I've had a fair bit of cash in the bank for a while now, I've only spent a small amount of money on a few novelties. I just like the comfort of having money so I know I've got it when I really need it.

The only expensive thing in the future I would really like to do is travel the world.

    1. Car Insurance Payments - Kind of need these seen car insurance is mandatory where I live.

    2. Saving up for 3DS games.

    3. College Tuition - Got to have money to pay for College so I might as well save up since my parents can't pay for my college forever.

    4. Formula One Race in Austin next year(pending it happens) - I really want to see this since it is close to me compared to when they used to race at Indy.

    5. Maybe money for the Wii U. I dunno I really don't have money for much else to save for.

    Right now?

    1. Wii-U
    2. Smash Bros 4.
    3. All the other crazy awesome releases coming out soon.
    4. The rechargeable battery pack I'll inevitably need to get because Nintendo doesn't cater to people like me who hate wireless controllers mainly due to batteries.
    5. College

    INB4 College should be #1. ;o
Me saving up for college is so second nature right now that I don't even think about it. I save 50% of every paycheck for it and the rest is "spending" money. ;o

    1. Vacation expenses. Already got my plane ticket, but I need money for everything I'm going to do when I get there.
    2. Moving. Which I'm doing soon. Gonna need to set up internet, get my things moved, etc.
    3. Food? Somewhere after all that I'm going to need to eat.
    4. Retirement? idek what to put next since all my money is going into 1 & 2 there's nothing left.
    5. Everything else I spend money on that I should really save instead.

My top desideratum would be a new apartment. Why? If you meet my roommate you'll know why. I cannot change dorm rooms. Don't ask.

I also am saving up for a car. It doesn't seem highly practical now, but I'm getting there. With good paying two part-time jobs and a weekly allowance from my 'generous' step-dad, a C63 AMG will be attainable some day.

There is also a plasma TV I have had my eyes on for a while, but it doesn't come cheap. An iPhone would be nice. And maybe bits from here and there.

    1. Laptop - My computer is located in my living room and there's basically no privacy, ex. if someone wants to see what you're doing on Facebook and you're on Facebook all they need to do is turn their head, also it's pretty noisy whenever people are over and I can't really concentrate if I'm typing/writing an essay.
    2. Books - I'm an avid reader and I go through about 50 books per year, and it's also more of a hobby to read them, then store them so I can re-read them later.
    3. Vacation Expense - I'm going to the Amazon rainforest right after I finish my senior year of high school and my parents said they would pay 1/4 of the expense if I could get the other 3/4.
    4. Car - I'm going to be volunteering, getting a job, going other places away from my house as soon as I get my drivers license this Sept. and I don't want to always have to go whenever my parents have free time.
    5. College pocket money - I always hear stories of people in college not having enough money to enjoy themselves while they're there, so I might as well save some money for when I go, heck, I'm not even going to be in the same state, so some emergency/free time money would be good.

    1. My own house
    2. My own car
    3. A trip to Europe (maybe London or Paris)
    4. Video games
    5. A big screen TV

i only really want two things rn. XD

    1. An iPhone 4 (cause my lame old iPhone 3G lags like fudge and has been dropped multiple times. oh, and i like the picture quality on the iPhone 4 better than the normal iPhone XD).
    &
    2. Australia (cause i've been wanting to go there for like, two years now. and so i can hear the hot accents for myself ;o;)

    ~ 1: A car
The car I want costs a little ($30,000, or $33,000 depending on the model I end up getting). So I can't get it right off the bat.
A car is really the only thing I'm saving for. Everything else I list I can get right now, it's just a matter of not needing it ATM.

    ~ 2: iPhone
I'm waiting to see what the new model is, if it's a big jump over the iPhone 4 (and it likely won't be) then I'll get it. And if it's not then the prices of the iPhone 4 will go down and so I can get a better deal on it.

    ~ 3: Astro A*Star earbuds
I'm sort of sick of my current ones and so I wouldn't mind getting a pair of A*Stars but since both pairs I have now work... I guess I should wait.

I guess that's about it. I mean I could throw some games and such in there, but I'll be getting them anyway.

The only thing I can think of that I would be truly saving up for is a place of my own. I'll probably end up being that person who has a house, but with little to nothing in it since I won't be able to afford anything else nor could I really be bothered to spend a ton of money on useless furniture. I'd be pretty happy with just a bed and tons of trinkets/pictures for decoration anyways.

I really don't care about cars. A car is just a car to me. As for other electronics I have a smartphone, but after a while they get pretty boring so I could see myself just using a regular phone. I barely watch TV so I don't see the need for a television and if I wanted to go online I would just buy a cheap desktop or laptop and be fine.

I am all about investing in the future! Roughly in order of importance, these are the things I'm saving for:

    1. My plan to move to LA as soon as I can once I graduate college in about a year and three months. I don't know how much I'll need but I know it will be a whole lot so I better start throwing money at it now.

    2. A copy of Zbrush - the last major piece of software I need, and I gotta get it while I can still take advantage of student discounts.

    3. I had a very minor fender-bender a couple months ago and my front bumper still needs to be fixed.

    4. I would love a color laser printer/scanner/copier to replace my old inkjet one that's going senile.

    5. A neverending list of reference books and other small things for my library and studio.

There are a lot of things I'd like to buy these days... but I need to like... know what's more important. Here's my top 5:

    1. A new car - I'm driving a piece of junk to school sometimes and to my old home. It's hoooooooribleeeee.
    2. College Tuition & Loans - I hate them.
    3. A Nintendo DS - The lite is $99 now, so I guess I can put that back on my list? :D
    4. An Android phone - I regret leaving the Android world by joining my sister's family plan. I hope to get back to it soon!
    5. A new desktop computer - No explanation needed. :P

I'm mostly saving up for college supplies and for a 3DS.

    • College supplies
-Pens, folders, and other stuff I need for college next year.
-Steel toe cap boots (Since I'm on an animal care course, I need steel toe caps in case I'm working on a farm).
      -Overalls (Same reason as above).
    • Nintendo 3DS
      -Luigi's Mansion 2
      -Street Fighter IV
      -Mariokart 3DS
-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

I'm also saving up for Okamiden, since I didn't have the money to buy it when it came out.

    1) Travel money: After I finish my LPC, I plan to go travelling somewhere (either 'round continental Europe or across the US/Canada). These things cost money, so I guess I need to start saving now.
    2) iPhone 5: My current iPhone is getting slightly too old and is showing its age. I assume I'll eventually wind up getting the next one when it comes out, but am not entirely sure when that'll be or how long after it comes out I'll be getting it
    3) Blu-Ray player: I like my films to be as vivid as possible, hence this thingymabob
    4) General expenditure: Need to eat/pay bills and such
    5) DVDs/Music/Games: No real reason; just like them all
