4th Gen Professor Rowan

Professor Rowan was the professor of the Sinnoh region. He studies Pokemon evolution. He is confirmed to be about 60 years old, and is a rather stern man. He also knows Professor Oak.

What was your opinion on Professor Rowan? I found him alright... I'm glad he was involved in some of Sinnoh's story, at least.

I think he was okay character, but I never found him interesting enough for me to care about him more than any other character. Thinking about it, I'm not even sure what his research was about.

Yeah I found he was a decent character, I liked how he ventured around the region and was involved in the game's story, he was the first Professor to do that iirc?

I was hoping someone would mention it but nobody did, so anyone remember how much of a sasser he was back right after the first gym when those grunts were first encountered. I overlooked it when I was younger but looking back at it, what a savage. It may have had an impression on me.

I found him pretty bland actually, he just seems to generic. I just used him to get a free return.

i'm with pageemperor on this one, he's got some sass lmfao. so i appreciate that. other than that though, i didn't really think that much of him. but it is nice that he has a personality. he's pretty stern, no-nonsense type and he's got clever wit to back it up, though we don't get to see it often, which is unfortunate.

I feel he was a good Professor.

He was also the last Professor to not be too involved with the player's journey.
Apart from his appearence in Jubilife, Canalave, and Spear Pillar he doesn't do much.

Juniper, Sycamore, Kukui, and Sonya are all very involved with your journey appearing in almost every part of the story, a trait I'm not fond of, it's not a proper adventure with someone holding my hand and telling me where to go.

I always thought Rowan was a pretty cool character. I like how unlike the previous generations professor (Birch), he actually had a known history of battling and even being a champion at one point. It would have been cool if we got to see him in action at some point during the story, b/c I feel like he would have been a powerful trainer in his own right. That, and it would have been a cool reference to the omitted battle VS Professor Oak if we got to battle Professor Rowan.

If I had got to battle Professor Rowan back in Platinum, (Or Diamond/Pearl..) I think he would have beaten me to a pulp. His history suggests it.
