    idek.

    Do you often use public transport, or are you able to drive or be driven most places instead? Maybe you prefer to walk if you never need to go anywhere long-distance. If you do use it, then which types do you use? Underground if you live in a city, buses, trains, whatever?

    And another thing; is the public transport in your area satisfactory for where you need to get to? Do you think the overall quality of public transport should be improved or is it fine for you? What about the prices?

    I've spent years using buses and trains to get myself around virtually everywhere. I love using the Underground when I'm in London, which I can get to directly by train from a station near where I like, too! It's quick, convenient and not too expensive, especially if you have a certain pre-paid card which lets you use London's buses and underground for discounted prices, or different one-time card which lets you use them for free for a single day . I never really need to take massively long journeys and when I do I can generally find cheaper routes anyway, even if they take a little bit longer.

    As for range, eh. The train goes into London but that's about the only place of interest so I have to wait on a bus quite often which takes a lot longer and I find less comfortable, but I can't complain too much since I can normally blag a child's ticket.

    I don't use public transport often since the bus drivers around here are kinda rude imo. In fact, I've only been on a bus alone here two times before (both this year) and I felt kinda "meh" about the bus drivers. They don't seem to care that we don't know the exact prices and that it's our first time catching the bus since a kid and thus we don't really know what zones mean... then again I intend to take a bus again tomorrow so just think of how much FUN that'll be. >__>;

    Oh and I also took a Taxi once. Costs more, but a looot nicer than a bus. Yeah I sound bad but Pop drives me to everywhere I need to go to :x

    The closest thing I've ever been to public transport is the school bus. xD We don't have any of that stuff around here, except a bus for elderly people. Once in a while, a taxi goes through town. And we laugh. xD So I have to be driven everywhere.

    But when I go to Boston I'm going to go on the subway, and it'll be awesome! :D

    I live in America where public transportation is a joke, but I still have to use it. I've gotten used to walking a whole lot, too. Not that I mind walking, but sometimes I wish the buses could be a little better about where they go and how punctual they could be. I don't always want to walk a mile when I'm carrying things. Luckily now I have a housemate with a car who can help me with shopping.

    When I was living in Japan I used the trains, subway, and buses all the time because they could take you almost anywhere, didn't cost too much, were clean and comfortable, and ran on time. I so wish I could have that here.

    then again I intend to take a bus again tomorrow so just think of how much FUN that'll be. >__>;

    Lol.

    My sister is my driver. :D

    It's my father usually but sometimes my mother.

    Luckily now I have a housemate with a car who can help me with shopping.

    HAHA GET IN! Back when I was in university, I had a roommate who usually took me to my karate training - purely for my benefit - because I'm the Overlord and that's how I roll. We also did a few joint shopping trips too, like you mentioned.

    -----------

    Bus services where I did my degree were pretty reliable and inexpensive, probably to lessen the blow on the wallets of students. Back at home where I'm at now, the bus service is so bad. Probably not as bad as what I've read from previous posts but much less reliable and more expensive too. It's really annoying because I live in such a secluded location so I need transport to get pretty much anywhere V____V

    I almost always use public transportation to get around everywhere, it's make me very convenient to get around because I don't know the way on the place where I currently live. Bus and subway are the public transportation that I use, subway on the place where I currently live is very practical and profitable, the last time I went to the airport, subway makes me save a lot of money. =)

    I try to avoid using public transport whenever I can. The vehicles are usually in a horrible state, the drivers rude, and, in the area I live in, the other people using public transport aren't exactly nice...

    For the foreseeable future, I'll be living in London - home of the red double decker buses and the Tube - but I'll probably end up walking everywhere. I need to live relatively frugal so as to go travelling after the end of law school, so cutting spending on public transport will be something I'll need to do. It'll be a shame though, as I like the bus and the Tube. Buses can frequently run late, but they're still quite quick and relatively cheap. The Tube is quick and reliable, but it has gotten really expensive in the last couple of months.

    That being said, I've been back home in Durham where I have access to my wonderful car, and I'm going to miss it when I return to London in a few weeks. It may be old and a slight gas-guzzler but there's nothing that beats the satisfaction of going down a motorway at 80 mph with the radio on at full blast. Bliss!

    I drive, but not that much for me to be wasting gas. So I take the Trolley to school, it's much more fun that having to take the dirty-o bus and switching routes.

    I miss them so badly!!! I lived in London but now in Columbus and I haven't been out much. Bus Station is a walk from where I am and I don't even know where it goes. It's like there's only one bus. Teens got free transport for buses in London is it was very easy, though I walked sometimes because walking is fun/bus didn't come/lost my bus card. Anyway, public transport is great, saves the planet too. I can't drive yet but I should be able to soon. Speaking of which, lemme go study driving.

    I almost always have to take the bus or walk. I don't actually mind, really. What I hate is when I don't make it to the bus stop on time and the bus leaves me, so I end up having to wait another half hour. But then again, that's my fault. And also, I don't appreciate the new fareboxes because I keep sticking my coins where the Change Cards now go >:/

    My Dad and Brother drive, so I don't usually take Public transport that much. I have used Buses and Trains when out with friends and stuff, or when my no one is able to drive me. I can't wait to learn to drive. :D

    I used to take the School Bus, but then I got kicked off. That was about the only form of public transportation that I took. Plus it's summer. We have a transit system, but I don't use that because A) it costs money, B) it honestly isn't that useful. My town is small, I could get from one end to the other in about an hour via walking. It would be a bit of a fast walking pace, but it's still possible. The only places I would ever want to take it to would be out of town, but I don't go out of town very often, and whenever I do, I could get a ride from someone first.

    Unfortunately the town I live in doesn't have good public transportation as of yet. It's at the annoying stage where you can't walk everywhere, but it's not quite big enough to warrant buses. There's some sort of small bus system, but I think you have to call it in advance to actually use it instead of it being on set routes, and I have no idea of the details. So I just walk most places, and get rides from my roommate to go shopping. On really hot days, I also bum rides from co-workers when I can.

    Most of the time, I'm content with walking. It keeps me active and it helps me sort my thoughts and get rid of pent-up energy. :)

    I walk if it's in the town I live in or the one next over, I take the train everywhere else. I think the prices are a bit high tbh, when I go to gigs I usually have to pay more for the train than what I payed for the entrance ticket. And I once had to pay £4 for a single 2 minute journey, because Rainham charges ridiculous prices.

    I try to avoid public transportation tbh. I just don't like it. Well, the only thing I like are the Taxies, because I get them free with a certain company. :) My Mum works for them soooo.

    I hate buses, when I get on and go to find a seat, I get a load of evil looks from the old people sitting down. I never take the bus alone anyway, I just don't like it. :V
