Does anyone know of a routine that changes your overworld to another, but doesn't change back to normal when clicking any of the options on the start menu or going into a wild battle? Help appreciated.

Thanks~

---EDIT---
Discovered the female player doesn't have this problem on FBI's routine, disregard this problem.

Ahh. Thanks for the help man! Just to be clear, does most of the hacking done by G3HS involve the .ini files?

Nope, the ini is just how the program knows where your tables are. A majority of hacking that relates to this would be done via hex editor.

Aahh. I didn't know that. Thanks. Would you happen to know if there's a thread for how to use hex editor?

I don't, but my best reccomendation would be to first look up a tutorial on HxD to get a better feel for all of its functions (not that it is that complicated to begin with). From there you can just follow tutorials that involve byte replacing. After all, byte replacing is all a hex editor really does :/

This is a question relating to Gen 2 so I'm not sure if this is the best forum to ask but Skeetendo doesn't have a quick questions thread so I thought I'd try here just in case a Gen 2 hacker is passing through.

To my understanding it's possible to add two Pokémon to the game without messing anything up (one of the glitch slots is the egg, the other is used for the cancel feature, but I'm not reading anything saying the other two slots can't be used). Is there a known guide on how to do so using the pokecrystal disassembly? I'm asking so I can make sure I can properly edit everything needed to make the Pokémon function.

I also wanted to ask if there was a guide to expanding the list of trainer classes, again just to make sure I can properly edit everything without missing anything. I don't know any assembly but if I can follow a guide I'll hopefully be able to edit the lists just fine.

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place; I'm not sure if this is a big enough bug to warrant its own thread so I figured I'd post it here.

[PokeCommunity.com] Quick Questions & Answers

This happened in my hack.

Red2 somehow replaced the Cut tree on Route 9. Talking to him freezes the game. I have not touched the Cut tree script, I haven't made HMs deletable or anything, and this issue manages to go as far back in my backups as when I first starting editing Cerulean. Opening the ROM in AdvanceMap 1.92 makes it appear that everything is in good working order. Deleting the event doesn't change anything, moving the event doesn't change anything, nothing seems to work. It's technically possible for me to go back and edit everything from Cerulean to Lt. Surge, but I'd really prefer to not do that because that's a ton of work for something that could possibly be fixed somehow. No other Cut tree (as far as I can tell) has been affected. Help, please?

You've touched the off-border cut tree event, and if you do that a-map kills it. I'll write a quick tut on off-border person event linking soon enough, but I can explain how to fix this through PM tomorrow.

Is there a tutorial or research thread on increasing the number of badges in a fire red rom? I'd like to allow the trainer card to have two screens (or the single screen have 16 badge images) and also have the save file continue menu display the number of badges. I'm not sure where to look for this.

I want to add pokemon from Gen 4-6 to my hack, so I downloaded the Sprite Library from PokeCommunity, but all the images were like this:
How would be able to easily seperate them into 4 individual images? I'm not sure if cropping would work

You want them as one image. Most pokemon editors have the option of loading a 64x256 or 256x64 image.

Do you know if Nameless Sprite Editor would be appropriate for this?

You will want to download the advanced series tool. It includes an icon, sprite, and position editor, you will NOT regret having this. The one you need for this is the sprite editor. Open you rom in it, find the pokemon you want to replace, click edit, click IMPORT ALL and select your 256x64 image. Then click syncronize palettes, and hit ok. Click save and search for free space and hit ok.

Thanks man. Did everything and it worked

This is my first time encountering connection problems on A-Map and obviously it doesn't save even though I click save lol
