Rate that trainer!

I don't remember the battle itself that much with her, but I kinda like her look and demeanor as this detached outsider artist in grungewear. She seems different, without trying to be, and the sea village you encounter her was more memorable to me than some of the places in Alola. I guess I'll give her 7/10

3/10. Points for musical leitmotifs and design, but her motives and plot involvement are flimsy at best and her personality is absolutely obnoxious. :C

Now for someone I like: Elite Four/Champion Lance?
 
6/10. Was briefly a fave as a kid but otherwise nothing too special. Plus, her ("evil") ancestor's way funnier.

8/10 Love her design, I think she's one of my favourites actually, her and Cheren!

8/10 I actually like him as a rival!

Barry?
 
Crystal - 10/10 for showing us the lore about the rest of the Beasts and Ho-oh and overall being kind and supportive. HG/SS - 5/10 for being little more than a Suicune obsessee. What a downgrade. Bring the old Eusine back!

Elite Four Phoebe?
 
There's a mismatch between her appearance and the type she uses imo.
With the floral-like patterns on her outfit and in her hair I was expecting a Grass type E4 when I first saw her. Nope, Ghost types.

Her team originally contains a repeat Pokemon, but the rematch team from ORAS is pretty strong and contains 3 of my favorite Ghost types.
Anyway, 7/10 I guess. Would've gone higher if not for the mismatch.

Wrist problem boy Gladion
 
9/10. Best character in the Aether family and especially great in US/UM. Considering what he's been through, I don't blame him at all for being emo. His bond with Silvally is quite touching as well. Lastly, I love that US/UM has him not come to challenge you for the title until a month after you beat the game since he's off training in Kanto. :D

Commander Kamado?
 
8/10. My favourite Unova Elite Four member, even though he canonically left his position as of the Alola games because someone found a portrait of him from 200 years ago and revealed him as a vampire. Oops?

Gym Leader Valerie?
 
10/10!!! Sure, he has no part in the bigger story of the Alola games, but he's just so endearing it's hard to forget him. Plus, I love his over-the-top design and the fact he's a laid-back Dragon-type Trainer!
