Let's see some creative ingame teams! I'm thinking a quick Y play through with all four starters and 2 tbd's then make interesting mono or balanced teams for RB to start and finish with.

Not sure if I will go for some really whack team or a mono for my first run through RBY. My team will probably consist of a Pokemon from the following pool: Kabutops, Blastoise, Nidoking, Alakazam, Gengar, Arcanine, Lapras, Pidgeot, Exeggutor, Rhydon, Gyarados, Dragonite, Jolteon and Flareon.

Since I've never played Blue before I'll probably wing it like I did when I first played Red and Yellow and had no idea what to expect. I might plan a team for Red once I finish Blue, but for Yellow I'll probably be really boring and go with Pikachu + the three starters, Lapras, and Snorlax.

Usually, I semi-plan my teams of new games. More often than not though I do like going out on a whim and catching whatever Pokemon catch (heh) my fancy. I don't think I will do it this time though, considering I've already played RBY, so I know what Pokemon to expect.

When I was at GameStop yesterday picking up Omega Ruby I saw the first gen games and I was like, "No way!" I didn't even know about them until now.

Anyways my team is probably going to consist of each starter for yellow cause I'm a basic bitch, Pikachu and evolve him into Raichu since online trades will be allowed, Alakazam/Gengar and Dragonite or Rhydon/Nodo's

If I get Red/Blue which I probably will which would be Red then my team would be Charizard (who wouldn't pick the mascot of the game? lol), Electabuzz, Jynx/Exeggutor, Lapras/Vaporeon, Dugtrio, and Snorlax.

also, does anyone know anything about Mew? Has nintento released any info about obtaining Mew? I'm sure Mew would be an event Pokemon since the whole point is to complete the Pokedex.

    :D! So you got it!

I don't XD For some reason, I always choose the red game but my starter is Squirtle XD

I've played this generation many times, so now I'll try to make a team like I've never did before! Still don't know what it's gonna be. I want my friend to trade me a Bellsprout the sooner I can.

I can't remember what my team was when I played the first generation. (only that I had Pikachu in Yellow and Squirtle in Blue)

I'm not really bothered about what my team will be, since the games are so different from what we have now I'll probably just get a rude surprise if I try to plan anything.

I'm tempted to go with a Farfetch'd or something for a laugh though. I almost want to try using a Jynx, but it's a traded one so it'll probably have a weird nickname.

I haven't given it much thought, but off the top of my head, here are some I'm really considering: Charizard (are we surprised?), Jolteon, Gengar, Alakazam, Chansey, Cloyster, Jynx, Exeggutor, Butterfree, and Dragonite.

I'm not sure yet. I'm leaning towards doing a bunch of themed playthroughs on Red and/or Blue (maybe I'll do something from the challenge forum), but I have to continue planning them out. On Yellow, I may just wing it, and use all of the starters and whatever else catches my fancy. I'm hoping to train a competitive version of every Pokemon line, but I don't want to use the Missingno glitch to duplicate TMs (or any other glitches, except maybe the Mew glitch), so I'll need multiple playthroughs to get what I want. I figure I'll store them on another game. We'll see if I actually stick with that plan, or grow too attached to my first team on each version and stop.

For the purposes of this topic, I'm only going with whatever Pokémon I have after going through the Cerulean Cave, since I swap out most of my Pokémon except for the starter throughout the game's storyline.

For Yellow, I plan on ending up with:
Pikachu, Articuno, Kadabra (since I probably won't be able to find anybody to trade with, and will probably replace with Mewtwo when I get that), Dugtrio (instead of Graveler/Golem for the same reason as Kadabra), Victreebel, and Blastoise.
Pretty similar to what I had when I played this game for awhile via emulator in 2013-14.

    For Blue:
Venusaur, Electrode (or Raichu), Dugtrio (instead of Graveler/Golem), Moltres, Lapras, and Mewtwo.
In this case, nearly identical to what I had with what I had when I last played this version in physical Game Pak form more than 10 years ago (and managed to grind each of them to Level 100 for Pokémon Stadium's Prime Cup).

For Red, I haven't figured out what Pokémon I'll use throughout the course of the game let alone what my post-League final team will be (primarily since I never had it on cartridge), but I plan on starting with Squirtle (of course, taking it all the way to Blastoise) and might put Zapdos on my team when I catch it.

In Red I will be using Venusaur, Nidoking, Raichu, Acranine, Vaporeon and Hitmonlee. Not sure if I will end up getting another of the other games for awhile.

I'm not even sure, I don't remember what my team was when I played these games. I know I want Alakazam/Nidoking, but other than that... I'm willing to mix it up. I forgot what Pokemon you can acquire where so that'll be a nice experience.

Probably going to train an agility dragonite with wrap, a tauros, chansey, alakazam, exeggutor, and snorlax. Want to make a very competitive team for this game. I have played gen 1 numerous times, but I dont really know how the battle system is going to work this time. Are we going to be able to see other players who are online on the bottom screen this time, and then be able to communicate with them? Otherwise sharing friend codes every time will get quite repetitive. Other than that I am super pumped about these games coming out. Still cant decide though on which game to choose red-which was the game from my childhood, or yellow-the game with all three starters.

Well, I'm not sure about whole team, but I'll using Charizard and Nidoqueen 100 %, as they were my first Pokemon. Then I want to use any from Primeape, Poliwrath, Slowbro, Muk, Dodrio, Kingler, Exeggutor, Rhydon, Tauros, Ditto, Gyarados, Snorlax, Golbat, Venomoth, Wigglytuff and Hypno.

    This will be hard :D

since online trades will be allowed

Sorry to disappoint you, but trades will only be through local wireless...

also, does anyone know anything about Mew? Has nintento released any info about obtaining Mew? I'm sure Mew would be an event Pokemon since the whole point is to complete the Pokedex.

Since there are in fact no online features, there will be no event Pokémon distributed. Besides, you can use the glitch to have a level 7 one before you fight Misty! ;)

I honestly have no clue what I'll end up using! I know I want to use Squirtle, but apart from that I'm torn. There are Pokemon that I love to bits that I have used before and want to use again (eg Pidgeot, Butterfree, Vileplume) and heaps others that I love and want to try because I've never used them in a playthrough (Dodrio, Victreebel, Dewgong, Venomoth, Parasect, Magmar, Chansey, Arbok, soooo many more). So I think I'm just going to yolo it and make my team up as I go and see what happens!

I think I'll use Nidoqueen, Fearow, Venusaur, Ninetales, Vaporeon, and Kadabra. (Since I have no one to really trade with.) Might change my mind throughout the playthrough depending on what happens, but I think this seems like a solid team.
