A wise, wise friend introduced me to the wonderful world of Reddit. From that day, I find myself accessing that damn website every day to gather the days's news, the content that was freshly posted, as well as gather my daily funnies, awws, and CUTES. I'm going to access it right now right after I post this thread. So tell me! Are you a "redditor"? How often do you access Reddit? What reddit sites do you find yourself accessing often? Share some if you like!

I love Reddit! It's a goldmine! I've been a Redditor for two years and often find myself at r/AskReddit, r/videos, r/tf2, r/truetf2 and occassionally r/trees. I love the front page for its popular contributions from r/AdviceAnimals, r/funny, r/pics and r/WTF. Reddit also keeps me up to date with popular world events thanks to r/politics and r/worldnews, and within my own borders at r/canada.

I agree that it is a gold mine. I can't count how many subreddits I have marked/saved, but I tend to go for the techy ones, like r/technology, r/sysadmin, and many others. There's literally a subreddit on everything, even for San Diego and Houston! xD Really glad reddit exists, because it takes my boredom away, and I can show off my friends all the things they weren't aware of. xD

Reddit's pluses are its content deals (celebrity AMAs, things like that), and how it's largely vacant of ****posts, something that killed /b/ a long time ago. It's staff are embarrassing and a waste of time to deal with, and because of that it's in the league of Tumblr in my book. Then again, how can you be a staff body and not be full of yourself at least half the time? It's like parenting – if the subject totally fails and becomes a loser you didn't have jack to do with it, but if they excel you'll be the first one up there claiming credit. Whatever.

A good use for Reddit for me would be the reaction GIFs, since emotional expression is one of the things internet-goers seem to be lacking in… and also unless I have you on webcam there are just certain things not describable in text. I'm sure you understand. In the scheme of the internet I guess it's alright, but in the real world it would've been long gone – in the trash and completely forgot about. The big bad world out there is a lot less tolerant, and I speak from experience.

Reddit. I won't lie, I used to be a Redditor two years ago before hopping to 4Chan, and have not left since. It was an everyday thing for me, but not something I'd find okay with sharing with my friends (who occasionally browse Rebbit now) or my home boards now.

I left because it did not align with my political (right wings from Massachusetts? Really? Yes.), religious (ex: tips fedora) and other views. When there isn't some lame movie reference or "inside scoop" biased news story on my page, Reddit does certain things well.

For example, the sports boards take a step away from the le funny point-*****s, who are concerned with game discussion rather than snarky comments for upvotes. However, the Reddit nature is present completely across the website, just like /sp/ happens to have the occasional weeaboo/pervert/???.

The Reddit-core boards like SRS/feminism/news sound straight out of a college class, with users arguing on subjects they aren't fully qualified to discuss. I consider myself a capable person and one who can run with the rest of the pseudointellects, which infuriated me when I saw my opposite viewpoints get showered with downvotes.

And the downvotes are the killer. Despite what they say, a point system greatly contributes (negatively I might add) to the quality of posts. Popular Anime Imageboard has no sort of point system, so 4Chan users post what they think without fear of disapproval.

As for you redditors reading this post, here's where I recommend. Note that some or most of these veer into the NSFW category.
    Spoiler:

I don't happen to like r/pokemon because there's not an equal distribution of genwunners to fans of other generations. r/anime lost me when they voted Steins;Gate the best anime of ALL TIME. See what I'm saying? These are not my kind of people, not to knock those of you who frequent Reddit.

Hey, Someday, reading your post kind of reminds me of the day the music died, from Don McLean's American Pie. After a moment it just changes irrevocably, and perceivably for the worse. And some good ol' boys drinkin' whiskey and rye were singin' "This'll be the day that I die."

    Bye-bye!

I used to hate Reddit, since communities like 4chan, Tumblr, 9gag gave internet communities a bad name in my book
But, there's a subreddit for EVERYTHING, and I've found a lot of useful information on it especially for Linux and political stuff

Reddit is a brilliant community, I never post there myself but I do like scrolling through the topics from time to time.

^that is the glooooory of reddit, you discover something that's near and dear to you.

San Diego's subreddit, as well as the Inland Empire (my hometown)'s subreddit are two that I'm subscribed right now.
