Rep is back. Good thing? Or bad thing?

    So, what do you guys think? Are you excited that rep is back? or are you like "Nuuuuu!" *hides in VIP forum* (not excited at all
     
    good thing if: a) everyone give me + reps.. b) it's not abused.
     
    I'm a bit iffy on the decision, really. Rep was seen disabled because it was heavily abused, almost 3 years later it's back and somehow I only fear it'll just be thrown about again. Though seeing as everyone's rep count has been reset, I doubt that'll happen anytime soon.

    Otherwise I'm actually quite happy to see it back. You can say that it's a taste of nostalgia.
     
    Yeah, the nostalgia factor is just too awesome to overlook. <3
    Anyways I plan to use the rep system as I did in the old days. To actually rate a post on it's readability, quality and/or topicality. If it was totally off topic with like a "btw, ontopic sentence" thing going on and the one sentence really didnt explain anything then i'd give neg. rep.

    As for + rep I'll give it to whoever writes an awesome post. Whether it makes me laugh or cry or whatever it is meant to do is done well by it then I do give green.

    I just hope that the nubs dont ruin it for everyone. PSST! neg. rep. for Steve XD
    Btw, If I see a thread/post begging for good rep I'm gonna give them bad rep >:D
     
    I'm sorry, but I really don't see the point in a reputation system. Why was it created in the first place?

    Rep is load of poop. I really don't care myself about it. Just another popularity contest.
     
    I agree with M3w/Amy reputation system is in my head not in a bunch of dots under a post count
     
    I really missed rep just for the ability to comment on posts that I really liked. Sometimes the comment isn't worthy enough to merit an actual reply or it's too lame to send a whole PM about so... I'd just give them rep with the comment about the post. XD; I really miss doing that.
     
    Obviously there's gonna be mixed opinions about it xD;

    I don't really mind it too much. As long as there's no one making threads that are OBVIOUSLY just there to get people to feel bad for them and give hem rep, then I think it'll be okay :/
    It really matters on what kind of active members we have here I guess :x
     
    I can't say I'm too pleased. I tried testing it out with Audy and Klippy yesterday, and mods + supporters can see their rep, and it's not anonymous. Thankfully, normal members see their rep anonymously. If they hadn't, then it would have caused big problems. But, some stuff might come up as "Whoever gave me bad rep is stupid".

    I was never there when rep was allowed (I think it was three years ago?), but I still know what these things can do if they're abused. I'm personally against the re-implementation of Reputation because I'm pretty sure it will get abused and/or start drama among PC, and the staff is going to have to stop it. >:

    And, since I'm against it, I don't plan on giving anyone rep, be it good or bad.
     
    I have to say, I think it's a bad idea to bring it back. The whole reason it was taken away in the first place, so I hear, is because it was heavily abused. Who's to say that it wont happen again?
    The PC has its share of popularity contests, this is just adding to it. :\
     
    Yeah I really don't like the idea that is back either. Only because it was heavily abused. Some people will neg rep someone no reason at all. I been hearing that a lot back then, and that is why it was taken off. I was happy about that(some people weren't though, but is besides the point). But as long it isn't abused again, I will be fine with it. Basically we don't need it. We are fine without it. But that is just my opinion.
     
    if it gets abused again and the mods/staff can't keep up with it, we'll just turn it off again.
    Its nice to at least let the members attempt to use it first. but then again, we'll see what happens.
     
    Well, I'm kind of happy to see Rep back, but I'm not happy about it because it'll be a mattrer of time before it gets abused once again.

    I'll give this 6 months before it gets out of control again and the mods have to step in and remove it.
     
    I think it is good as long as it is not abused. But it most likely will get abused because of trolls. Not to mention the emotion of hate. ^_~
     
    I'm glad rep is back - although I wasn't here when it first was, I've seen it used successfully on other forums. As long as people don't abuse it, it'll be great
