I need help with my umbreon to make it really resistant to almost any attack. I need help to decide the moves for umbreon. One of the moves that I chose is moonlight, so it can recover hp. I need to improve umbreon to defeat supermega_boy next time... I hate that his water pokemons are really strong.

I just learned that Salamence gained Outrage in Platinum.

Please tell me my Dragonite isn't completely useless. ;_;

Yep, basically Dragonite is done. Now that Salamence AND Kingdra both got it, Dragonite usage has decreased :/

Sorry, but... no. Umbreon's pretty horrible in DP, all he has is trap passing. Megahorn, Close Combat, X-Scissor, etc. just crush him like a bug.

Not to mention, Moonlight's not that good either. In Sandstorm (the most common weather condition), it heals a meager 25% HP.

Nite seems to make the better mixed sweeper, what with Super Power, but that's all I can see it as.

Not to mention Choice Specs (which arguably got better with the addition of Superpower; he can now go and 2HKO Blissey with Superpower instead of just Focus Punch.

Alright, after making this team on Netbattle, I started trying to catch and raise these guys on my Blue version for competative battling with my friends. It took me a while to come up with the lineup, but I'm always up to suggestions!

-Hypnosis
-Mega Drain
-Thunderbolt
-Explosion

Comments: Well...It's Gengar. I found him useful with the fastest Hypnosis and great Special. I kinda wish Ghost attacks were Special, so he had some sort of STAB, but whatever. He does tons of damage with Thunderbolt/Mega Drain and can really put a hurting on things with Explosion (I want to keep this a surprise for when my friends bring in their Chansey).

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Thunder Wave
-Softboiled

Comments: This thing is almost impossible to kill, and Softboiled only makes it harder to stop. Ironically, this pink beast has more Special than Starmie, meaning it hits harder than one of the most common threats in RBY. I know a lot of my friends are proud of their Alakazams and such, heh, I doubt they'll be pleased with a fast Pokemon such as Alakazam being paralysed.

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

-Psychic
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
-Seismic Toss

Comments: Alakazam only learns one special move: Psychic. Even so, Psychic coming off the highest non-uber (Mewtwo) Special is nothing to scoff at, as even Chansey does not like critical hits or being paralysed. Seismic Toss is to rack up damage even after Psychic's PP is depleted (and with only 16 uses of it, that is more common than not). Recover is godly on this guy, as he can come back from the stickiest situations and keep on fighting.

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

-Blizzard
-Body Slam
-Thunderbolt
-Hyper Beam

Comments: OMG WTF VANCE? HYPER BEAM? SPECIAL ATTACKS ON GYARADOS? LOL NOOB. Honestly, I'd agree if this wasn't RBY. First of all, Gyarados's Special in RBY is Base 100, in other words, equal to Starmie's, who's it very high. Hyper Beam is a Base 150 physical attack in RBY, making it stronger than anything Gyarados has. It also doesn't lock you into it if you kill the opponent, or if you break a Sub/Miss. Blizzard has 90% accuracy, making it very usable. Thunderbolt hits the common Water switch ins on Gyarados such as Lapras and Starmie harder than anything else. Body Slam is there for paralysis.

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

-Substitute
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Body Slam

Comments: Rhydon is the best Zapdos counter in the entire game, and it's not a bad check for Chansey either (although Ice Beam 2HKOs the poor rock golem). Substitute because Rhydon is slow as hell, and so I guarantee at least *1* kill (though I hope a beast with 358 Attack can kill more than 1 thing).

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

-Hyper Beam
-Body Slam
-Earthquake
-Blizzard

Comments: Simply put, Tauros rocks. High critical hit ratio combined with its excellent Speed and STAB make it a supreme finisher. Blizzard is for those Golem and Rhydon who are oh so annoying! Body Slam for paralysis and then I can quickly finish off whatever comes in with that lovely, but suicidal Hyper Beam.

NOTE THIS IS A COMPETATIVE TEAM FOR NETBATTLE AS WELL. ANY COMMENTS LIKE "MAGIKARP CAN SWEEP IN GAME!" AND I WILL HYPER BEAM YOUR THROAT.

Are you trying to pass this set off as your own?
And yeah, as far as I'm aware people just lead with the that set.

I'd love a physical attack set for a Quirky Flygon.

Someone else gave me this:

Flygon @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Stone Edge
Earthquake
U-turn
Dragon Claw

I was wondering if there were any other suggestions :3 I'm not sure what I would do with U-turn.

Quirky is a horrible nature Adamant/Jolly please >;

U-Turn is to scout switch ins mainly, but if you have Platinum, Outrage could go >> it.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid
4 HP/252 SPATK/252 SPD
