OK, logic time.
First of all, if Ash was going to Oak anything, it would HAVE to be Chimchar. The only way this wouldn't be possible is if he temporarily took out Torkoal to evolve it, then Oak'd it again. Which contradicts the entire point of having him withdraw Torkoal to evolve it in the first place. (Just like Oaking Gliscor, but people still believe it will happen...However, I will make note of Glalie.) Why take out a Pokemon, evolve it, and immediately Oak it?
The obvious answer to that would be, "Chimchar's not coming back." As much as I hate the fact that Chimchar would remain on his team (and really, it's not even the fact that Chimchar's there; it's that everyone doesn't want it to be Chimchar anymore...Which I vehemently disagree with, if only for the fact that a fully evolved Fire starter is not only "been there, done that" material, but an obvious sign of ratings whorism. Blah blah, Chimchar doesn't need to and shouldn't evolve, blah blah.), Chimchar needs to be on Ash's team so it can show up Paul. (AS A CHIMCHAR MIND YOU, SHUT UP, N00BS.) Ash isn't about to take two Fire-types in his party, so it's one or the other, and if it has to be one, it's going to be Chimchar.
Now we can discuss the fact that it was from /a/, and that you just all lost the game.
I also ruse because I raffed. Sorry, I'm a prick when it comes to anime opinions. Sue me, Lucario's "super-sexy aura" can kiss my ass, and Infernape can fling his flaming fecal matter at someone else. >=|
Besides that, while a Torkoal evolution makes sense (because it is quite balanced), of all things, why would Ash recall Torkoal? Why not Heracross, or even Cyndaquil?
However, I will argue the logic of the silhouette. Torkoal's evolution will not look like that. That is obviously a picture of Torkoal, because the source gets info, not pictures. =\
