Planned Maintenance is scheduled for and will affect users on SVR1 and the PokéCommunity website as well as some DNS. We are expecting an up to 4 hour window to complete the maintenance.

Services affected: Public Network Connectivity

Duration: 4 hours

Our Network Engineers have identified a software issue on a frontend aggregate switch (FAS), FAS03.SR06.DAL01, which provides connectivity for our server(s).

To prevent an unplanned outage resulting in significant downtime, Engineers will be rebooting this switch during a scheduled maintenance window. Should this reboot fail to rectify the issue, we will be replacing the hardware with a spare. During this maintenance, customer servers will not be reachable on the public network.

While the maintenance window is set for 4 hours, we expect less than 90 minutes of downtime.

I can't calculate right now, but I'm sure you'd probably be asleep at that time, I think it's 3:01 - 7:01 AM there.

6 AM to 10 AM UTC would be about equivalent to 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM in New Delhi time, without taking DST into account.

Either way, I wonder whether the software issue on the FAS was something that has obvious effects on connectivity to PokéCommunity.

I don't think so or there would have been an emergency maintenance (and many customers complaining) to deal with it.

It is only possible that the switch may need to drop offline like if the reboot fails to fix the non-specified glitch or something like that. Then they'll physically replace the unit thus creating the down time.
