3rd Gen Shocking, Isn't It? [June 2016]

Welcome to Third Generation's featured thread- the Poll of the Month! Now with all that said, this month's poll question is:

"Which Gen III Electric-type Gym Leader is your favorite?"

Both Gym Leaders you come across third in your journey, Lt. Surge and Wattson both specialize in Electric type Pokémon. Despite having very different backgrounds and personalities, both are some of the best in the region. So, who is your favorite, the Lightning American, or the cheerfully electrifying man?

Has to be the Lightning American Lt. Surge! That military background gives him so much depth and makes him a bit mysterious as far as what role he has played. Also gotta love that Raichu and green clothing with that hair cut!

Alright, I don't care about them, I just care about the theories related to them:

1. Lt. Surge: Pokemon War

2. Wattson - Mauville Project

Damn, this is hard.

I'm in the minority here voting Wattson. It's because I've had more experience with Hoenn than Kanto, and while I didn't like Wattson's original team, Emerald did at least improve it by finally giving him a 3rd Gen ace with Manectric. OR/AS unfortunately returned to the original team though.

Its Watson. It is wonderful watching him laughing all the time. He always renders indirect but extremely useful help in curing migrane or other depression related problems for the people of Mauville(He himself told me this when i asked him about his weired personality, laughing even without any reason).

Lt. Surge 100%. He is my favorite gym leader period. Not only that he was a former member of Team Rocket...and a gym leader of my favorite type too.

Lt Surge - I don't really have many opinions on either from a battling standpoint, and I don't watch the anime, so not a lot to base any opinions on, but Surge's mysterious backstory is pretty interesting, at least more so than just any typical gym leader. The fact that he used to be a Team Rocket Admin is interesting, that's something I wish had been part of the games for sure. more admins = better

Wattson - Emerald was my first game (got LeafGreen in '09) so there's bias there, plus Manectric > Raichu.

Raichu is basically the Trump mod of Pikachu - fatter, angrier and oranger

I love electric trainers, and this is a hard pick...but I chose Wattson. I love his personality, and he's a fun character. Though Surge is my favorite Kanto Gym Leader :) I do perfer all versions of him over his anime self. And Wattson is pretty much the same everywhere xD

This is a tough one, I could have easily picked Watson because of my love for Hoenn but Lt Surge got my vote due to his super awesome Raichu.

I'm extremely biased, starting my Pokemon interest with Sapphire. Of course I would pick Wattson.

Wattson's cheerful nature always put a smile on my face, and his design looks like Santa Claus if he specialized in Electric Pokemon. Plus, he has a Manectric, one of my favorite Electric-types.
