Tool: Spiky's DS Map Editor (NOW OPEN-SOURCE)

No. That's impossible because NDS maps are 3D and don't use tiles. Sadly it's more difficult to edit these maps. There are some tutorials on youtube, search for "sdsme tutorial".
Really? Damn it! Even DPPt maps? 3D too? That's horrible, for gods sake!
I'm currently developing the next version of SDSME, but it takes time, because I have a very active life so I develop only during free time ;)

Well, if you don't know, SDSME development has been officially stopped. Now I'm developing DS PokeHack Studio, a sort of "SDSME 2.0".
I still have to implement the scripts, but I want them to be compatible with every 4 gen rom, so you just have to wait for it ;)

Currently right now, there's no way to do this. Perhaps some future tool based off SDSME might be able to do exactly that. But until then, you'll need to use those programs, there is a way getting around the activation for free. And you can do that by using keygens. You'll just need to search Google for them, since it's against the forum rules to link you to one.

I actually found a way to do this only with free aviable tools.
Im using Spiky's Map Editor, Blender and MKDS Course Modifier. These tools should be free aviable.

To get the .obj files you can use Spiky's, the converter .nsbmd -> .obj is implemented.
From there you can modify your .obj with Blender and although export it to .obj.
With the MKDS Course Modifier you can transform the .obj to .nsbmd. Import here is to generate a .nsbtx so the textures aren't bind to the object.
Now import these object with Spiky's and you are done.
The scale of the object is somehow to small, thats why the textures get glitched.. Anyways, MKDS Course Modifier dont let me make the map larger as x16 or something like that.. Can someone help me?

I think somebody said this already before, but im lazy to look up now, because its too expensive using my mobile phone to look it up (I pay everytime I look up your website from Germany ^^). I edit this post when im back home and somebody already posted it.

Dialag, if you message me privately, I can link you to the proper tools and half-decent guide to get you through your current issue. Basically, MKDS Course Modifier can't do it and you need another tool to get you over that hump.

I'm going to look into Jack's tools more tonight. I cam across them a bit ago, but didn't jump in with them at the time. I can't wait for an updated tool.

Is there a way to run this with Windows XP?
I've already installed Framework .NET 4 but it throws an error everytime it opens a ROM :/
It was this "banner.bin" thing and now it's just something like "the system can't find the specified file" or something..
 
Yeah, I'm running into this issue now. What's the point if it doesn't work on XP and the other required tool doesn't run on 7? I've seen this running on XP though, so I'm not sure what the issue is now. I'm going to try 1.7.0, as I've specifically seen that version running on XP.
 
Except I continue to get errors doing everything else. Importing a map gives me errors about the working directory's color table, or it tells me that the current narc or map is in use. How does mikelan do this?

I wrote a script in AutoHotkey for this tool that allows fully automatic level raising of wild pokemon and trainer pokemon, I will share it on here soon.

Seriously?.. it has been so long and no update.. does no one care about hacking the ds maps? is it that hard?..
 
Whenever I try to run the latest version of this tool I get a "can not activate the GL rendering context" error. The only solution I've heard of is to run v1.7.0, but I can't find a download for it anywhere. Can anybody help me?
 
Hi, I've been looking for a while, and I'm trying to find out what each of the commands mean in the Script editor. I can't seem to find any tutorial nor documentation of commands for that. I haven't done any real big ROM editing, but I've done a couple years of programming, and I think I could find out what to do with a couple of hints.

How can I find out how to edit the scripts? Is it the same as GBA script editing? Anything to steer me in the right direction would help, Thanks!

If you are going to edit HGSS or DPPt,you can use PPRE too.
Script commands of PPRE are differrent from those of SDSME.

Check out my R/S/E works for Pokemon Black. Just recently came back into the Hacking Scene.
The goal is to be able to make a RSE Base Rom for people to use.

Good work, but the trees need to be improved. Maybe thought about replacing the 2D fake trees with the acual tree models used in original B/W maps?
