Heh, thanks!
Around his mouth there is a blackoutline, remove it or add a darker shade green to this sprite.
Yeah, that black outline was really annoying me, but I only noticed it
after I posted it, and subsequently couldn't be arsed to fix it up, if I'm honest. =X
The sprite outline looks to light at some places, again i think adding a darker shade green would be best.
Do you think so? It doesn't on my monitor. =\
The anatomy could also be better the pose looks good, but the way the body parts are are kinda strange.
Well, this
is a pixel over, so you can't
really blame me for anatomy problems. Accurate outlining, yes. =D
The right shoe looks like his whole foot is twisted, really try to fix that.
Mhmm.. I'll amend that...
eventually.
Thanks for the constructive critisism, Crosell!
Thank you!
The toe area of the right shoe almost looks hooked, you should extend the sole one pixel lower.
As I said to Crosell, I'll fix that soon.
The left hand also looks kind of.. well... bad.
Is that our left or Yoshi's?
Everything else about the sprite is spot on, though!
Once again, thanks!
Firstly, this sprite is lacking highlights were it is required. The (Our) left part of the end of the tail is one place that suggests that. I suggest referring to other, official Pokémon sprites for help on that (such as Sentret, as that has similar colours and design as your lil' fakemon here).
As I just said, the concept is VERY similar to Sentret's, what with the tail-balancing, rodent-like features, colours, etc. However, I'm not here to rate the concept, but the sprite itself, so.
Is it me or are the feet pillowshaded, with the outside shade being a really murky brown that makes the feet look JPG'd?
Does s/he have four eyes? Because two are looking at us, and s/he's in a profile(ish) pose.
The shadows on the torso (do squirrels even
have torsos... I'm referring to the torso-area) are very hard to make out, and the connection between the body and tail looks as if the tail is just an elongated version of her/his body... Speaking of which, the style in which the tail reaches the floor suggests that it is some sort of badly-shaded goo... which I hope it isn't.
The underbelly (the peachy part) seems square...
The last thing I can really critisize is the ear: how does the sound enter it? it has no 'hole'. Look at all the other Pokémon with those types of ears. They have pinky holed in which the sound enters. There's an anatomy lesson for ya! =D
I suggest re-doing the whole sprite, approaching it in a different pose, referring to actual real-life Squirrels and squirrel-like Pokémon all the time along the way.
Please realise that this is simply constructive critisism, by the way.
If you
really want a number rating, then I suppose I'll give you one:
4/10
Keep on working on it, and you'll soon make a master fakemon! (Well, at least appearance-wise... XD)
Edit: Holy moly that's a long post.
