Tales of the Abyss Remake for the 3DS

I watched the Abyss Chronicles subbed version. I havent finished it, But I will I kind of want to finish the story through the game THEN watch the anime now. I stopped at like episode 13? I dont remember. xD

About ToV, idk if that is the only reason why it is popular. But I ALWAYS mix up Yuri Lowenthal (Luke's Voice Actor lol) with ToV's Main character Yuri Lowell LOL. Funny if Yuri voices Yuri But Troy Baker does his voice, which I like him he voices in some of my favorite games xD

Play the game first. The Anime is exactly like the game and it gives alot of spoilers. It's not like when the makers of a anime are like. "We're going to make the Manga and the Anime completely different." It's nothing like that with the Game and the Anime. They are the same. Even the cut scenes from the Game are in the Anime.

I've actually never played a Tales Game, and I'm excited to finally get into the series with this remake. Good times.

WEWT! *Gives Cookie* You have joined the "Tales of" adventure. x]

I figured it was the same, But i forgot what happen in the anime, but about the secrets of Asch, and Luke on the kidnapping. xD thats all i really remember about it.

Tales of the Abyss was never released here in Australia, originally, so I'm really looking forward to this. The first Tales game I played was Symphonia. That's also become one of my absolute favourite RPGs. The other one I tried was Radiant Mythology. Which... wasn't that great, disappointingly. It's also the only Tales game I own at the moment. I've also played Tales of Innocence, and some ToS2, but yeah. Those aren't as good as Symphonia.

Tales of the Abyss is going to be brilliant. I can't wait to play it. : DDD

Radiant Mythology isn't meant to be as good as the main games like Symphonia. It's just a spin-off with a crappy story that let's you experience all the Tales characters in one game.

I wasn't expecting it to be as great as Symphonia. I was hoping that it would be really fun. That's pretty much it. I was kind of expecting it to be similar to how the Mystery Dungeon games are. They're spinoffs, but they're brilliant spinoffs. You hopefully get what I mean. xD;

If you want a brilliant spin off then get Tales of Vs. It has all the main and popular characters in one game. Gameplay is just like ssbb only with life instead of falling off the stage. Anyway... Namco are being dumb asses just like capcom right now, not releasing games to other countries. ;-; I feel your pain because you haven't played the best tales game. Dx

I've seen the entire Tales of the Abyss anime with English subtitles. It is the best, longest, and amazing Tales anime of the ones I've seen.
Except in order to afford a full-length series (hence them actually [successfully] condensing the story), the animation had to look like crap. Iirc even the opening animation wasn't very good, lol.

I wish they'd do this one day. Instead of doing a TotW where you play an outsider to the Tales of characters, create a story where you start out as a Tales character. :C But that would require a lot of story/cutscene alterations if you wanted to switch which character you could play as or start out as and whatnot. Probably not for a handheld console, baaw.

Tales of VS was okay. The gameplay was really confusing to get the hang of at first though and I think if I hadn't played lamely (ie: pick spellcasters and stay the hell away from everyone else), I would've been a lot more frustrated by it. The graphics weren't amazing, the story mode was lame (though hilarious), and considering how many characters were in the game that have never really been introduced to North American audiences, I think it would have failed like Radiant Mythology did. :( This sucks because as a big Tales fan I absolutely adored it once I got into it (I had to force myself to take the game out of my PSP when I collected all the characters so I would play other games), but I really don't think the NA market would have enjoyed it as much. Maybe if they fleshed it out and made it a console game (omg that would be so amazing), they might bother, but considering how long it takes them to localize Tales games now (and how outdated VS already feels), I just don't think it would really happen. D: But I still think it's a game any Tales fan should import if they also like Super Smash Bros.

Speaking of tales of vs, I should get back to my translating-Jade-and-Anise's-story project. 8D;

So like I got Tales of the Abyss (PS2 port). :)
It is used, but the problem is..there is no problem, it doesnt even look like it been used at all except the case just seem it been opened alot but the case look new tho I mean the box art, and the manual. SO HAPPY I played alittle bit of it. I got to say I like the voices (IMO) and I like the designs of the game, and the battle system (which i haven't played too much yet) is very likable so far! Thanks for the people who recommended this to me, imma have fun with this game :3 People say the loading is a problem, don't seem a problem with me :o probably have to get in the game more :o

Have fun, if you need any help with that, (Translating) just give me a call. ^.^

Will do. :3 There are 19 scenes, I've transcribed 16 of them and translated 14. A few lines give me major issues and I either gloss them over with what I think fits in there based on the surrounding conversations or attempt really awful "jist" translations. Worst one was when Jade made a pun and I had to make it make sense in English ffffff. ;~; He's kind of difficult to translate at times.

I mostly just struggle with scenes where they meet Tales characters whose backgrounds I don't know and they shoehorn in story elements from those games and I'm just like "bwuh? Swordians? Lenses? The hell??" xD;

Yaaaay Jade-related translations!

In order to play a Spin off game, you must play the other games in this series or you won't know what the hell is going on. x]

Well you can still get the general idea, usually. The characters they choose are usually interesting and well-defined enough that even if you don't know the plot, you can still enjoy the interaction.

But knowing and loving the characters from actually playing the games definitely helps. x_X;

Well, the people these days aren't that smart and usually still don't get the storyline. Making it that much harder to understand everything.

Dude, stop trolling. This is a post what you think about the remake of the game, not a thread where you complain about the characters. Plus, Luke FTW. Jade is the sexiest beast though. ^.^
Yeah, true. But I like Luke's hair short with his bangs long, it looks bad ass for him (IMO). in the game (PS2 version), I'm not even close to half way point xD
Spoiler:

I put it in spoiler cause some people may not know the story the people who is gonna pick up the 3ds port.

But so far I gotta say, Im addicted to the game xD

Just for warning, the game has alot of plot twists. ^-^

Well, I think I might be buying this game when it comes out for the 3DS. No, make that WILL. I missed out on this for not having a PS2 - but I'm sure that I'll be enjoying it a lot on my 3DS.

I'll be playing this game as a completely new game... that kind of feeling is rare... Especially with ports/remakes... And I'm an RPG guy, too. I try everything, too. Maybe, just, maybe this one will be something that I'll really like...

*writes this on his wish list*

Let's keep Abyss talk in here and the general series talk in the Tales club then. :>

That's exactly what I meant. So! Why is it that the 3DS version is released in Europe but the PS2 version wasn;t?
