    Introduction

    Long before the events of Sun and Moon, the Ultra Beasts invaded for the first time. Appearing suddenly they laid waste to the Alola region with only the Tapu - the Island Guardians - able to stand against them. Outnumbered, the Tapu banded together to face this powerful enemy and protect their home and its people.


    About the Game

    Mafia is a strategy game that pits the uninformed majority - typically known as The Innocents - against the informed minority - typically known as The Mafia. The aim of the game is simple, The Innocent side must try and identify and kill all the Mafia players concealed among them whilst the Mafia try to become the majority in the game, outnumbering the Innocents to win.

    The game is split into two phases; the day phase where everyone discusses events and tries to determine who to lynch and the night phase where the mafia can kill an innocent victim. Both these phases have their trickery however! During the day the mafia are hidden within the Innocents, trying to steer their vote away from themselves whilst at night some players can use special abilities called Night Actions to try and help or hinder their side.

    Ultra Beast Roles

    In this game, the Uninformed Majority are the "bad guys" of the game. The Ultra Beasts have emerged mysteriously and are attacking the Alola Region. You're not acting as a unit however, so you won't know who your allies are and will have to rely on clues in the phase posts and the behaviour of other players to work it out. The Ultra Beasts win by killing all their enemies.

    Pheremosa

    Fast, powerful and smart. Pheremosa can use her skills to follow one player at night and discover their alignment.

    Buzzwole
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    Buzzwole is strong and sturdy which makes him pretty hard to kill. He will survive the first mafia kill directed at him or the first blade attack targeting him.

    Xurkitree
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    A powerful electric type, Xurkitree doesn't have a night action but will use its powerful electrical impulses to block the night action of anyone who visits it at night.

    Kartana
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    Kartana is a master of all things sharp and at night can bestow upon another player a special Blade that will boost their Attack and allow them to stab and kill another player of their choice at any time during the day. Doing so may reveal the user however.

    Celesteela
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    Celesteela is the master of blasters but is also skilled in defense. Celesteela can create Armour at night and give it to another player. Armour raises a Pokemon's Defense, allowing them to survive one night kill or Blade attack.

    Guzzlord
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    Guzzlord is the most fearsome of the Ultra Beasts and something of a leader among them. Once during the game he can overturn a lynch and direct it to another player of his choosing. Guzzlord can also produce a single, anonymous public message any time during each day.

    Nihilego
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    If you're a Nihilego, you're essentially a Vanilla Villager. You have no night actions or powers besides your vote. However, if you pay attention and use your head you can still be a valuable member of the game.


    Island Guardian Roles

    The "Mafia" in this game are actually our good guys, the Tapu! With the emergence of the Ultra Beasts, the Tapu have united to face this musterious threat together. The Tapu share a chat on a Discord server where they can plan their moves and kills and otherwise coordinate and win by outnumbering their enemies.​

    Tapu Koko

    A powerful Electric/Fairy Pokemon with a strong fighting spirit, once in the game Tapu Koko can select an additional night kill target.

    Tapu Lele
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    The Psychic/Fairy-typed Guardian of Akala island, Tapu Lele can use its psychic powers to negate the night action of one target each night.

    Tapu Bulu
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    The Grass/Fairy manipulator of plants, Tapu Bulu can use its powers to create either a fake Blade or Armour and give it to a target during the night. A fake blade will sap the life of the user and kill them instead of their target whilst fake armour will simply not protect the wearer. Fake items override their real counterparts.

    Tapu Fini
    [PokeCommunity.com] The Alola Basic

    Tapu Fini is the Water/Fairy guardian of Poni Island with power to purify anything it desires. Each night Tapu Fini can target one person and return them to their original alignment. Tapu Fini can not be captured by the Kahuna.​

    Totem Pokemon

    The Tapu and the Ultra Beasts are not the only beings present in Alola. One of the first Kahuna is also present and seeks to capture the Tapu and Ultra Beasts both and turn them all into powerful Totem Pokemon for use in the Island Trials. The Kahuna and his Totem Pokemon also share a chat and win by outnumbering the other factions.

    The Kahuna
    A skilled trainer who can capture just about any Pokemon he sets his mind on. Each night he can capture one Pokemon and add them to his collection as a Totem Pokemon.

    Totem Pokemon
    Subdued by the skill of the Kahuna, Totem Pokemon join his chat and gain his win condition but lose their night actions. If the Kahuna dies, Totem Pokemon will return to their original alignment.


    Rules

    1. Use [Attack] Name to format your votes during the day phase. If you don't your vote might not be counted.
    2. Missing two votes in a row will result in your removal from the game. I will not be replacing dead players.
    3. Do not share your PMs! Furthermore, all game-related discussion should be kept here or within specific mafia chats made for this game.
    4. If you are dead, you are dead. Don't haunt the thread. You are however entitled one final deathpost which must not contain any new information.
    5. Do not post in this thread during the night phase.
    6. You may vote to attack nobody but you might regret it.
    7. In the event of a tie, a coin toss will determine who dies.

    Night Zero

    They emerged in the night, legions of these strange beings called Ultra Beasts. Pokemon, or so it seemed, with strange and terrible powers that made even the great Tapu of the four islands of Alola weary with fear. The Tapu realised that they could not defeat their enemies alone, so now they have banded together to defend their home. The battle between Ultra Beasts and Guardians has begun. Who will win?

    For those of you new to mafia, the game has just begun and is now in its first night phase. That means you cannot talk to each other unless you are a part of the Tapu or Kahuna's chat. You can however, if you have a night action, send me a private message here on PC telling me who you'd like to target.

    If you did not receive a message from me with a role description, you are a Vanilla Nihilego and do not have a night action. You are however, as I said in your role description in the OP, still a valuable part of the game if you play your cards right and participate actively. You're aligned with the Ultra Beasts who are the "innocent" or "town" side.

    Have fun! Let the slaughter begin!
