I'm going to make this "short", because there's a D/P topic going on right now and I so want to move onto that topic.
I have tried time and again to apologise for this, but it always goes unheard. Especially when it comes to people like you. You may not remember well, but you may recall that your real reason for blocking me
And as for your quote, I understand your distinction between newbies and 'n00bs', but that's all you seem to blame things on.... Yet instead of trying to resolve it, you blamed 'the n00bs'. Unprofessional in my eyes.
And finally, as an administrator, I'm sure that there are many people who look up to you and respect you, and you have a responsibility to show as much respect when taking action — refraining from just criticising them and just giving them a formal reason for injunction.
And you do a real good job of it too. I've seen you try to apologize, I've also heard a few new things about you. So yea...
Doesn't matter what the trigger reason was, the main reason is because you're annoying.
I put n00bs in the same boat as older members who don't understand the rules or how PC works.
And I'll put it this way. If PC didn't have any n00bs would we have so many rules to restrain the normal members? If members were wise enough we might lose the 25 char rule, or the 4 word rule, or the double posting rule, forum posting rule and so on. Why do we have a rule on posting porn, or swearing or spamming etc? It's because we got to point out every single thing to the members.
Back when I joined PC had only unwritten rules (I don't think it's good, but it shows how much PC has changed). The only rules we had were the double posting rule (no one enforced it), the swearing rule, and maybe the 30 day thread rule as well as the forum linking rule. That's it, and all of them weren't enforced that much. The worst you could do was bash a Staff member (heh) or PC, or post porn. Do any of them and you'd likely end up banned.
We had little to no n00bs back then. But now PC has ton of n00bs and thus we have a ton of members.
And for that last part, you know what, I'm just going to quote something I told Paul today.
"I will say this only once. Don't EVER tell me how to do my job as a Staff member. There is some truth behind that "purely positive" list of mine. I have been on the Staff almost 4 years. I damned well know the difference in things when it comes to the Staff."
As I said in that post, I don't go by the books, I'm not the perfect Staff member of PC, I'm not the Staff's role model. And my ways will not change until 1 of 2 things happen.
1: I leave PC.
2: I'm kicked off of PC's Staff.
For you (as well as others), respect might be given out as free candy to kid. But to me, respect is earned and isn't given lightly. Actions, posts, sayings and so on deem the respect I have for a person.
And if you do reply to this, then you'll have to get over your fear of PMs. Because my reply will be via PM.
Gentleman, by that I mean Crystal Walrein and Arcanine, please cool down or you'll both be asked to not post in this topic for awhile, ok?
I'm going to say this in the nicest way I can.
It's best to not tell that sort of stuff to me (it never gets anywhere).
And now that that's over. I want Diamond soooo bad. I even got a little countdown clock on my laptop. XD
I can not wait to battle my friends online, I know my wins might be very very very few. But just the chance to battle online (or even online chats) is something I've been wanting to do for so long. Wanting to show off my team and see how well they do when batting so and so. Even random battles will be on the fun side (I don't think I'll be doing many of them, it's just not as fun batting some random person). And then there's trading. Being able to have a Pokemon from my friends. Maybe Erica will trade me a Pichu, and I'll send her an Arcanine XD. It'd be good to have a Pokemon from each of my close friends, having the Pokemon they like as well as their name on it. I can't wait to get my hands on Diamond.
A little under 11 days till the NA launch.
