I don't have a job here at my college. Yet, anyway. I plan on getting one at the start of the next academic year. At home I have a job at the local grocery store in town. It's nice there becuase I've been there for 2 and a half years and I'm more experienced than most people. They just have me roam the store and do whatever needs done; dairy, produce, cashier, stock, freight, and other random stuff. I do a wide variety of things there, so I never get bored. The pay isn't bad, but I could make more. We'll see if I stay there the whole summer or move somewhere else. I'd like to get a landscaping job if possible, just so I can be outside a lot. XD

Sometimes people work for interest, and not necessarily about the pay. Also, sometimes people just want a casual job which is not overly intense simply to waste time in a productive manner. In these cases, they'll just find a nearby job without too much stress from work, and work there productively.

Hm, I have to say how my current part time got crappy payment, but it's one of my stepping stones to build up my resume in the field that I want to work in later (teaching.) Kumon got horrible pay of 9 bucks an hour (McD got 9.50 an hour, and higher), but it's a teaching job and I like my stress-less yet potentially fun work there.
I know some people work just for an easy casual job. But where I work, the work is a really demanding. Well, no so much for me, but for the staff that are working 6am-5pm, six days a week in fields, etc., can't be classified as a "casual job." I do know that most of the staff are only working there because the money is quite good compared to the other jobs on offer to them, and also because they have the choice to live on site in accommodation that is cheap to rent.

I'm pleased with my current pay as it's ten pence above the minimum wage. All the other students I know that work only get £5.40, so I'm quite lucky in that respect. I get £5.50 per hour, so that works out at around $10, so not too bad at all.

I have just about been doing my paperound for a year lol. I get like 15.00 for that a week 5.00 from my mum and usually 4.00 from my dad so i usually have to live off 20.00 punds a week.
That's not bad. I've never had pocket money given to me; I'd just asked for money when I needed it. I've never bought myself sweets or anything so there was no real need.

To live on per week I receive £27.50, or more depending on the hours I work, but lately I've been saving up so I've got a nice little sum in the bank.

I dont usually spend my money. I will either save the whole lot or if i want to go to town or somewhere i will take some bus fair money out. But when i save my money i usually save for big stuff like new guitar equipment and wii controllers. This year or next it would be nice to get a PS3 but on twenty quid a week after u save half the money it will be so easy to go out and buy something so i always try and never spend a penny...

As for 30 quid Matt i suppose its not sooo bad how many hours do you work a week?

I usually get a little bit of money a month from my parents, but I really want to get a little paper delivering job or something, just to get a little more spare money. I've rang up quite a few places but most of the time they've already found someone for the job. D: I'd probably save up most of it and keep a bit so I can do something when I'm out with friends or whatever.

Yeah, I'm the same there. I'll usually save up then get myself something I've been wanting for ages. The last thing was my laptop where I had all the money prepared to buy it, but then my mother owed me money and decided to buy it instead of repaying me in cash. Otherwise I'd have got bought it on my own. I don't have anything in mind to be getting soon, though. The PS3 doesn't interest me.

It's not bad at all. I work from 7am-12pm on a regular Saturday. Sometimes, like in the holidays, I'll work more hours depending on the workload. During the Christmas holidays I worked 22 1/2 hours in three days, so yeah. XD

XD Laptops own, mine doesnt anymore coz i have a red line on the screen because te video cable is frayed (because i am always opening and closing the laptop, it just sows how muc i use it) At te moment i have 20.00 for next tuesdays Trivium gig i get to meet them before the gig too its gonna be so awsome.

XD Christmas, all those prezzies you had to work for. I get more leaflets on my paperound around christmas time because of deals and the big christmas shopping and all that. When i get more leaflets i get paid more.

I've worked for almost three years, and worked probably about 4 days a week. So yeah...I have a large amount of money saved up in the bank. That's the money I love off of at college. I have to make a lot of money over this summer though. I'm planning a trip to Brasil to see my sister and her family soon, so that will be a large amount of money.

I'm not real big into game systems, so I doubt I'll be buying one of the new ones. On the floor I live on alone there is a PS3, 2 X-Box 360s, and a Wii, so I can just mooch off of my friends when I want to play video games. Then my good friend has a Super Nintendo at her house which I absolutely <3. XDD

Ah, money and jobs. I work at my local grocery store for almost thirty hours a week. I like the job itself, as I can do whatever I want. Like MegaFuz, I go where I'm needed, so I have more experience in the other departments than my co-workers.

I don't really have spending money myself. I have to buy my own food for the week, pay rent to my parents, and save up for my own apartment. Yes, my parents charge rent. They started as soon as I got my job. It's a pain, but it does teach responsibility.

So I don't have any money to buy the big electronic items. No new game systems, no new games, and I'm also stuck with an old laptop that has no sound card.

I get £30 a week because of EMA payments (something for UK students) and £10 of which is spent on lunch at school and stuff, so I have about £20 each week to do whatever I like with. Normally spend it on CDs or something, though.

I should consider getting a proper job so I have that little extra which I may need for Uni.

I will hopefully get a job soon enough when i get a laptop. I can be a web designer, and a computer technician. Plus i have to start early because i have to be better than my cousin. Don't ask about the rivalry with my cousin unless your ready for a post your gonna be reading for 30mins. I am hungry a lot, but i can make it off $100 a month, so that leaves me with about $400 extra to spend based on beginning web design jobs only. I've got my future made, working as a hot dog man will only last a couple of months at the most. That's why i'm getting a PHD or masters in comp tech, or web design.

Actually i should been at work these days, but i decided to not work instead :)
Loading up for the new year at school that starts in August :)
Relaxing and enjoying life as it should be :)

I just sent in an application to a Wendy's. I hope I get the job... :nervous:
Down at our shopping centre, that store has the worst ice-creams. I always got told to buy at the other store because they had the nicer ice-cream for the best price. But you'd probably be payed more because they sell higher, I'm not fully sure, but most probably I'm right. Not like I'm ever wrong or anything~

I've never had ice cream from Wendys, its way too expensive for me. It sounds all nice and everything but I've always gone to other places to get my ice cream simply because its cheaper. And you're probably right there, they do sell at a higher price but depending on where you are, they could just be paying you the minimum wage instead of relating to their profits.

Everytime I eat at Wendy's I get a horrible stomachache a few hours later.
Which is too bad, because I love the food.

I like Wendy's. :B They have delicious hamburgers. But it's not as good as McDonalds. But I only like one thing at McDonalds. Not their hamburgers, that's for sure. DX -dies-
