Sweet havent seen you around a lot Angelic, and you make a good point, Infernape can take down Heracross. But its still an issue. We need a back-up.

Nidokings can learn those moves, all of them. And with Surf, it can keep other Ground types like Donphan away. I would go with an Adamant natured one. But above all, it needs to have EQ and a strong Physical Poison attack.
 
Gliscor is a good hera counter and has a reliable healing move in roost.Although it dies to ice punch and vire which donphan covers and then we'd have to get another spinner.

Bulky Gyarados also is a great reliable switch in on Heracross apart from its stone edge.

Draggy is ok but just not fast enough, if its a fast dragon we want : Swords Dance Chomp or Hell even Scarf Chomp, DD Mence etc.

Nidoking is nice, but in no way the best. Why would you use a SP.ATK reducing nature, then give it Surf?

As I said, saying things that sounds smart isn't good enough. Saying "Above all, it needs to have EQ and a strong Physical Poison attack" sounds very smart. But in reality, it isn't saying much. What strong physical poison move? You mean Poison Jab? The ONLY physical poison move it has? Poison has pretty lousy coverage. & we all know that EQ is a given.

At least give a set. Nido can't learn Aerial Ace or Close Combat, it is slow, & not fast sweeper.

Poison has 0 coverage. Don't use it.

Adamant DOES NOT work with Surf.
 
Surf doesn't have to be with Adamant. I was just suggesting if you didn't have Adamant, you could use something to counter its Ground weakness.
 
Actually, a choice scarf salamence takes both of its STAB attacks and with intimidate will (hopefully, DA would you please check? lol) survive one stone edge and then can OHKO with Aerial Ace. I'm against it though since Salamence Scarfed really isn't that good.

Skarmory really laughs at choice scarf heracross though. The bander smashes it with a 2HKO, but if it's the scarfer you're worried about...gliscor is probably the best option though, and it can also make use of a few gimmick sweeping sets that actually work well. Garchomp and a few others do it better, but we do need a Hera counter...
 
It's fun to watch this kid come up with sets. That was to jb(random numbers).

But yeah, it'd be great to have the opponent think they'll own you with Scarfcross, then BAM! Gliscor. I don't really have much experience with Gliscor, but yeah.

Gliscor owns Scarfcross. It owns CBcross too. It owns Heracross in General, lol. It can also knock off its item so that it becomes a minimal threat to deal with. Actually, I've had a Specsmence switch in on me only to get a KNOCK OFF lol. So yeah, Gliscor isn't just a Hera counter, but is also amazingly useful.

Damage: 162 - 191
Damage: 45.76% - 53.95%

From a GUTS BOOSTED & CHOICE BANDED Stone Edge from heracross.

Bear in Mind the above is without lefties recovery, so its a 3hko as lefties restores 6% of health, which is great seeing as that is with a 2x att boost via Choice Band and Guts.


I like this set on mence. Use it frequently and its a great clean up sweeper

This does

Defender HP: 334
Damage: 301 - 354

To 252 HP / Impish Skarmory with Life Orb'd Fire Blast.

The speed evs allow it to outspeed Choice Scarf Heracross after a single dragon dance and it outspeeds Choice Band Heracross straight away.


You can alternately put a focus sash on it and take the evs out of Hp and put them in sp.att and it makes a great lead. Stone Edge can be put where Fire Blast is if you fear Gyarados and you move the sp.att evs into hp.

Wow. I don't think I've seen anything that would destroy Skarmory like that, lol.
