Actually, I'd say only the minority disliked it for good reasons, while mostly everyone else who hated it (not necessarily on PC) happened to hate it for the most ridiculous reasons ever, including (but not limited to):
  • Ash
  • Iris calling Ash a kid
  • Iris's dub voice
  • Team Rocket (who are objectively much better in BW)
  • Any and all changes to the "formula"
  • The dub's dialogue (they usually mistake this for the entire series getting kiddier)
  • The fact that this is Generation V
  • Basically anything else unreasonable you can think of

Because I sometimes have too much time on my hands (lol), I couldn't help but type up this gigantic post (clicky) defending it. xD

I haven't watched the anime since the early days of Advance Generation. Not for any reasons that I don't like the quality of that season (or any of the later ones). It's just that I drifted away from watching the anime.

If I ever get back into it, I'll be sure to catch Best Wishes.

(Also, Trubbish is awesome. I just caught one in my Black Wedlocke...minutes before his partner died.)

Wedlocke? Not heard of that one before, I guess it's a variant of Nuzlocke? What's the challenge?

Best Wishes is what got me back into the Pokemon anime so it now has a special place in my heart. Not to mention that Ash, Cilan, and Iris in general was just an amazing trio! XY is really good too even though it was a bit slow for a while. But looking back I feel like I was right in the fact that it was just building up to all the excitement we're getting now in the series. Can't wait to see the next episode and definitely can't wait to see Clemont's and Ash's battle! ♥

... Okay i'm done haha.

Wedlocke, if I remember correctly, is a Nuzlocke where your Partner are in pairs and neither partner can die otherwise you lose both Pokemon? Something along those lines.

I stopped watching the anime atound halfway through Unova, but that was due to unavailablity. For the most part, the Pokemon Adventures manga is much easier for me to access so I tend to keep to that mostly. Now that we have Netflix I was hoping to get back into the anime. :/
But I have to say, Dawn is probably one of my favorite characters.

A wedlocke as far as I remember was basically a nuzlocke where you have two pokemon paired together and if one dies the partner has to get revenge or die tryjng. Sounded too complicated so I never tried it......

I haven't read Pokemon Special in sooo long. It's funny because back when I first joined I was all 'Red's the best Ash is a loser' and now while I still adore Red I really really actually truly adore Ash. He's an idiot, but some of the things he says I'm just like 'MY SON LET ME HUG YOU'. And y'know, dumb stuff like that. But Netflix is a good way to get back into Best Wishes if you don't mind the dub! Especially since I now has all three (dubbed) seasons I believe.

Hmm, the Wedlocke challenge sounds interesting but kind of fiddly for a casual challenge haha. I'll look up a thread some time and check it out, been meaning to do some more challenges once all this uni work goes away.

I think Pokémon is one of the only shows I prefer to watch dubbed - usually I'll watch anime/cartoons in the regional language since the voice overs are usually much more effective, but for some reason it's always felt weird for me not watching Pokémon in English. Probably a childhood thing, having grown up watching Pokémon on English TV it'd be weird for Ash to suddenly change nationality at this stage haha.
