Yes... save up your money.... give up on the eeveelution merch.... they'll all be mine now... :fufu:
Seriously though saving up if you've got money to spare is never a bad idea.

Letting capitalism run unchecked is a mistake the US still has to correct :sadwick:
Like when I went to the US I was told to avoid the hospital unless absolutely necessary to avoid the US' insanely expensive 'healthcare'.

Having seen it first hand overseas, it really depends on the place in China. Some people do work comparable hours to the U.S , but many are illegally exploited into something called the "996". (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. 6 days per week while being watched and sometimes forced to work on your break).

It's definitely one of the worst aspects of the US; a lot of people here seem to see the "free market" as a deity that needs to be worshipped instead of a tool that's useful in some situations and not in others. Our healthcare costs are one expression of that, but nearly every time mild social programs that would be considered standard in Europe are proposed people whine about possibly having to pay an extra .02 on tax a month to prevent people from starving in the street; the "screw you, I got mine" mentality is very prominent and incredibly frustrating to deal with both on a personal and societal level.

Do people not have empathy!?
A lot of people don't, or they do but create rationalizations for their actions that conveniently happen to line up with what's in their self interest

I've heard of the 996 schedule, I'm glad it's been cracked down on at least a bit to my knowledge; that kind of working environment is extremely unhealthy, especially long term.
