I've been playing Red Dead Redemption for a while now today. Wrapped up a bunch of stuff and went to what I thought was the final mission.
Game keeps giving me a bunch of mediocre chore like missions of ranching with the fam afterward. I kinda want this to end already, stop it with the chore mission spam game

I do a similar thing with huge games like that. After all the main objectives are complete I consider myself to be done and don't bother with all the menial extra stuff unless I just really like the game.

Looks like I've gotten the "999" post a second time in a row, the 242,999th post was made on March 19th and I predicted that we'd hit 244,000 on October 6th, meaning I was 40 days off assuming the final post is also made today (not horrible imo). There's been an average of 6.21 posts per day in this thread for the past 999 posts, and continuing on our current trajectory we'll hit 245,000 on February 4th, 2025. Coincidentally exactly 20 days before my birthday.

Tbf. the "Cleanse the whole world" achievement isn't actually that bad. You beat the game, get the Terraformer, make a new world (small) cleanse the evil biome of that world and then you'll get the achievement after asking the Dryad about it. That's how I did it. Though, it seems like there are also maps you can download that are already cleansed which should give you the achievement without all the trouble.

Still doesn't change the fact that fishing sucks in that game. xD

Comparing it to Minecraft is kind of a meme in the community. The progression in Terraria is definitely a lot more interesting, though. Like, you actually do feel like you're getting somewhere. As opposed to Minecraft where once you get access to iron tools the progression falls of rapidly.

The duplication staff is definitely an intriguing concept, and I don't believe an open world 2D Zelda has ever been tried (outside of Zelda 1 ofc). We'll just have to see how it turns out.

I've played Minecraft for several hundred hours and never once fought the Ender Dragon lol
I tend to just make random stuff for hours on end and when I'm ready to go beat the dragon my interest will have waned again xD

I never got into Minecraft. I think it's an important childhood game and I just missed the window for it.

It's harder to appreciate as someone who didn't grow up with it.

whenever I decided to play Minecraft I got bored pretty quickly and stopped. Even with mods on that didn't really change. It's probably a game that's better off being played in multiplayer?
