The Count To Infinity - v12

I fell asleep multiple times reading some books for university. Both physical copies and online versions.

School does have a tendency to make you read boring stuff just because some rando thinks it's a priceless work of art or something =P
I didn't like the vast majority of books school made me read.

That reminded of how the books were distributed to students prior to class 9th in our school. Firstly, the Librarian takes out the random books from the shelves, and then she places them on the table. Then students were asked to come in the queue by bringing their library cards for getting the books. The first 2-3 boys in the queue look the names of the books, and then they secretly whisper out the book names to students behind, and then we used to rearrange ourselves in the queue, so that we can get the book we desire, when our turn comes.

But many times, it was not possible to do due to various reasons !!
And I still remember that I got the fairy tales book which made me to laugh in library room back then, for which teacher told me to get a "different experience".

'Summer Reading' was the worst to me. Usually came with some sort of project. Make it an extra or bonus incentive and it would be fine. Forcing busy work during what is meant to be a break is counterproductive.

I almost never did it. Nor would I ever be pressured into caring.

I remember in one early year in school, I found a book that looked interesting and checked it out. When my teacher saw it she said I shouldn't read it because it was, and I quote, 'above my reading level'. So, naturally, I read it anyway- understood it- enoyed it- and then got a 100% on the book test the school had for it (we had some reading thing where you could earn points for something by reading certain books and then taking this multiple-choice test on them. I didn't say, 'Read 'em and weep' to the teacher, but I definitely thought it!

The book was White Fang by Jack London. I definitely recommend it!

Book reports were annoying but then at the end of the year we also had this oral exam about them... which I found far more unpleasant.

This sort of reminds me of how the Twilight books were in my elementary school library, and since I've always had a thing for vampires my whole life and a friend recommended it to me, I checked it out and held onto it for a few days. Apparently my family had heard from the school that I had checked out a book I shouldn't, I got asked about it at home, and it was deemed too explicit because apparently there was some kissing scene in the first book. Got it taken away from me and back in the library because I was apparently too young for it, despite being in the highest grade in that school. I haven't been able or interested to go back to read what I missed, and it still baffles me to this day.

Nice @Lavender you will get some nice experience moving forward. Utilize those experiences for the situations which may come in real life and you will also learn how the people in real world are !!

Great work.
