That's really weird... even by starting with base happiness around level 30 is more than enough to get to the happiness level required. I'm sure he will evolve any time now.
I would be curious to check it's happiness level.

Speaking of challenges, this is actually my first challenge other than a nuzlocke and only second playthrough of X/Y in general.
It's been fun rediscovering Kalos, I forgot lots of stuff
