A superhero, vampire, whatever else it is that wears a cape wouldn't last very long with a name like Tedward. It inspires neither admiration nor revulsion, just...kind of slight dirtiness.

Well, for the past two days I've mostly been digging myself out of an enormous backlog of VMs and trying to begin to catch up with people :D As you can see, I'm taking to the place again like I was never even gone. Now I just have to decide where to extend my reach from beyond the DCC. People in my welcome back thread seem to have incredibly high expectations for what my presence is going to do for the forums. That's no pressure at all :laugh:

"Ew"? excuse me? Twilight is an amazing piece of literature and cinema.

and I agree, I already mentioned it before but it's awesome to see you back Kaga :)
 
I don't really think much of Twilight at all, and I really do blame its fanbase for that.

For the books and the movies, I can't comment upon them because I haven't seen them. It's just the really overbearing fans that put me off from actually being interested in them at all.
 
I read the twilight series before it got popular. The movie just totally ruined how I imagined the story XD I won't say I loved it though can't say I hated it seeing as there were other books I liked more and other books I hated... same with the movie. I think I was more into Percy Jackson back then which sorta put me off from liking Twilight :d
 
I never saw any of the films or read the books. Nor did I have any real desire to given its hardcore following, which sounds pretty dire in all honesty.

That and if I had have wanted to go see the films I wouldn't have had anyone else who was interested to go with.
 
By truth I only read it because people in my class were obsessing over it... helps going to an all girls school... I usually don't read those kind of novels
 
I was being completely sarcastic in my last post, not sure if that translated very well XD;

I was soooo annoyed when all my friends in high school were obsessing over Twilight and Edward Cullen, so I complained. They then were all "YOU CAN'T JUDGE THIS OR COMPLAIN UNTIL YOU READ THE BOOKS". So I did. And then I complained even more :)
 
I gotta say, the one thing that annoys me the most about twilight is the whole Team Edward, Team Jacob thing.... just too much.....

I'm thinking of giving at least the book a try seeing as my boyfriend actually liked it. But the last time I actually sat down and read a novel was a long time ago, nowadays I just don't have that sort of patience.

And I think the books are worth a read, it's not that they're horrible but the fact that teenage girls think Edward and Bella's relationship is something to aspire to is what's horrible. I really disliked the characters, especially Bella since she's seemingly okay with being in a dependent, unhealthy relationship and she's whiney and reminds me of people i'm not a fan of attitude wise. Also, Stephanie Meyer needs to use adjectives other than "incredulous" serisously D:

FINALLY. THE ACTING DDD: probably the worst part imo.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same with me. Twilight got big; I encountered the fanbase, which put me off the series. People started complaining about me dissing it without reading it, so I read it. I actually couldn't even finish the first one, but I got a decent way through and now at least I feel justified in saying it's crap. I haven't seen any of the movies, but I assume they're much the same. Kristen Bell sure as heck doesn't do it for me.

Also the "cant complain read da book" part was hilarious. Couldn't they see that you're complaining about how overrated it is and not about how crappy it is?

uuuugh it was really obnoxious, and yes, exactly! I was more so complaining because not one lunch period went by when it wasn't "OH MY GOSH DID YOU READ WHAT HAPPENED WITH EDWARD OMGOMGOMGOMG LETS KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS FOR THE NEXT 45 MINUTES EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR". I just wanted to eat my lunch in peace, yeesh.

it's not too bad, but you're not missing too much I promise.
