[css-div] tags. It involves a proper knowledge of how to use CSS. Here's a basic guide: https://www.ppnstudio.com/node/273
GIMP works fine with me since it can resize well and it can add transparency. I tried making banners at one point and horribly failed though. I would use it exclusively only if ms paint couldn't draw lines or shapes.

Alright thanks everyone; I'll probably do it tomorrow since Ezzo or Dukey will have my requests done.

I've decided to download GIMP and give it a go. People say it's easier and better to use than PhotoShop.

I figured that out right after downloading, lol. I don't know where most of the buttons are, and Photoshop has better default brushes.

You have to use filters and layers if you want the background to be purple, not just adding the color.

I've been fixing up my sig.
Do you know how annoying it is to make those logo buttons have hover over titles and clickable when Firefox isn't doing what you want? >.>

I just need something to occupy the little bottom right corner..

EDIT:
why aren't the corners rounded on Google Chrome? >.>

I'm not entirely sure on this but I think using -moz-border-radius might be the reason. Moz as in Mozilla only? o.o

I have no issues with Openoffice. I'll agree, it's not as friendly, but a lot of it works the same way as Word does. I've never had trouble using OpenOffce instead of Word...and I've been using it for...probably 3 years now.

Gimp is to Photoshop as Openoffice is to Word. x( That is, they get too much credit for being "free, open source alternatives" when in fact they're nothing at all similar, nor anywhere near as user-friendly.

user-friendly is nice.
And that's why the internet invented file sharing.
Everything's free online.

I've had OpenOffice installed for a few months now since I couldn't find my Office disc before I had to leave for university in January but... being a math student, I haven't had much of a reason to use it. :( Now that I have my disc I'd like to just ignore it but I haven't even given it a chance. I'll probably keep it for a while, or at least drop it on my netbook or something so I can say I've at least used it.

I've never touched GIMP though. :/ I'd rather fall back on a copy of Photoshop Elements, honestly.

GIMP is a decent alternative if you're too lazy to find your photoshop discs again (cough cough, I'm guilty of that, especially back when I was switching computers several times), but yet want something to use in the meantime.

I wouldn't even think of downloading it otherwise, though. I didn't have too many problems with it, but I still found its interface a bit too annoying to use on any serious basis.

I... I just use paint when I'm on a fresh OS install and can't find my Photoshop discs for a while. XD; Or some online paint-esque program I found once. :[ I just dislike having to learn a whole new interface for something so temporary--especially when it's something complex like graphic editing.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeess please tell me you're up at 7:30 because you're an idiot and stayed up all night like me rather than because you're a responsible person who is up at a decent time. ;o;
