I guess Shiny Gold is a symbol of Pokemon in a way Pikachu is. Pikachu is a symbol to the PKMN anime, while the Hack games (ShinyGold, Ruby Destiny, etc.) symbolize the PKMN fans love of the game. xD
 
It shows that Blazi uses weird statistics, or that he made them in the chat and used them with all the forums XD;

He should do them with all the 0 posts members and he'll be surprised :B
 
I think he meant by normal people... which got me onto the class systems thread! :D

As SG people aren't normal.

...You do realize that SG, as well as various other hacks are what attracts most of the members to this site here, right? o_o;

I've never actually got around to playing SG, or any pokemon hack for that matter, but whatever. Zel's a pretty chill dude :<
 
I meant normal as in... them having no sense of colour, grammar, etc whatsoever.. well for the stereotype. The people that aren't completely obsessed are normal. XD;
 
oh god, ShinyGold. Once my brother had friends over and they were talking about Pokemon and one of them mentioned SG, right? He said he browsed PC a bit after signing up to learn more or whatever and my brother goes, "Did you know my sister admins that forum?" His friend was all "whoa, what? So did she help make SG??" and I had to admit I'd barely even visited that subforum much less played the game, haha. 8(

It took me another few minutes to try to convince him the boards were worth visiting aside from ROM Hacking and I don't think I got through to him, ahaha.

It's not so much a matter of being obsessed, imo. It just seems like those type of people who join up here for SG only post to flood zel with VMs about how much they love his work, or report issues with the game. Rarely do you ever see any of them come out from that section of the forum XD;
 
I think the only members that like Shiny Gold are the ones that joined specifically because of it and refused to explore the rest of the forum.

Not to mention the random grasshoppers who came to the irc chat asking about it (and were really really annoying about it).

Not true. The reason I even found out about PC was because of Shiny Gold, and In a while I saw all the other sections of PC and started posting. Ironically enough, I barely even touch the Rom Hacking forums.

We still get plenty of those people even now.

And then too many of them don't get the hint when we say that there's probably nobody in the room that even cares about that game (or romhacks in general), and will do things like keep asking about it. :{

Delving into a previous topic, I don't mind even the music for 2nd gen...but then again, I'm someone who'll willingly play NES games if given the chance, some of which have even worse music. I think the only track I hated from GSC was the...Dragon's Den music? And only because that was truly shrill and ear-splitting, my god. Hate so much.

I'd buy an official remake of GSC if it was available (maybe), but anything else...eh. Not interested in it.
 
You know what? I joined PC NOT because of SG. (I found out about SG later on, still have to download it. XD) And yet it's what keeps on popping up from Google a year ago...

I was looking for a Pokemon forum to settle in with. I've read bad reviews about Serebii so I stayed away from that. Bulbagarden's Manga sub-forum was virtually dead.

At the time I joined PC, the manga sub-forum was relatively active. People were settling down there a bit, and Mangafox was just being pilfered around as the place who leeches on PC's scanlators (back then.)

For some reason I just go to OT now here in PC. =/ I should explore a bit though...

As for GSC music, my memory of such things is murky. =P
I love the Bike music there though. XD

The moment you said that, I just thought "memory P". The Kanto/Johto region has had some of the best music treatment with excellent remixes galore. Hoenn's was meh, fine, I guess. Sinnoh's was just... too childish and jingly. They had great hardware and it sounds like they put minimal effort into it.
 
I actually like RSE's music better, but that's just me. Lilycove City and Underwater theme were superb.
Sinnoh has a couple nice tracks, but that's it.
 
Concerning my enlistment here at PC, I was referred here by a friend. Events progressed from that point onwards.

As for this "Shiny Gold" thing (reminds of Distracted by the Shiny and Sidetracked by the Gold Saucer, to be honest), there are times when I've considered taking up ROM-hacking so I can pick it apart and rebuild it in my own image.

I love RSE's Elite four music the best and the team aqua team magma music and much more RSE music.
Though I don't really like D/P music except for the team galactic music mostly.
 
I...almost never went into the ROM-hacking stuff, and had no idea what Shiny Gold was for a long while.

About joining, I originally joined to spam the hell out of this place, like crazy. I ended up in a staff position for about three years. :)
 
I joined because I join almost every forum I come through.

I just happened to make some good friends in here, which was enough reason for me to stick around~
