I'm not fond of any of the new pokemon atm. The new region being based on New York is exciting though!

Yeah, Johto has some pretty interesting stuff like the Whirl Islands, the cities, and its history. However, Hoenn is just as interesting. D: Then again, I like the desert, volcano, and diving underwater. XD
Thats true.
But, I like Johto Pokemon better XD

I like some of the Pokemon, but they could be better. A lot are big dissapointments...

I havnt faced Red yet. I still want to grind before I battle him, I know he will be a big pain in the ass for me XD;

@ Charizard: ahahaha, ya, I miss you bro! ;D Ive been doing good, hbu?

I've been doing good man! I'm attempting to take over the DCC like last year :D

Remember the gold old days with Samme!, me, you and Erica talking on here? I miss them D:

Going underwater was freaking sweet. (b'-')b

Red was more challenging in G/S/C.
I beat him with just a Charizard in HG/SS :/

Well, GSC also only brings your Pokemon to about level 45 at the end of the game, while HGSS brings you closer to 55 during the normal course of training.

And I don't face any Gym leaders/key trainers unless I know I can school them ahead of time. (b'-')b

But, G/S/C was more interesting and challenging in my opnion. It didn't take that much training to beat all the gym leaders and the elite 4.

It still had way too much water. Making you go underwater only made it slightly less annoying.
They should've kept it in DPPt though. :(

Thats true.

Fair enough. I like the Johto Pokemon too. XD

And you actually defeated Red with just Charizard in HG? Awesome. XD

Red was always terribly easy, as he was put under the curse of Pokemon AI.

I'm serious in that post.
Nice. Actually, I was able to defeat Red in my Gold with just my Dewgong. :P I think I only switched Dewgong out when Red brought out Blastoise, though. XD

My stomach really hurts :[

Agreed with those comment above. Way too much water in Hoenn...I think thats a big reason why people dont like it =/

All my pokemon are level 60 in my Heartgold. Should I go face Red? D:
(I have faced every single trainer in the game btw)

Yay Hoenn! It's one of my favorite regions, actually. XD

I actually like my SoulSilver game because of the nostalgic feel. XD; That, and I actually like the plot of the game. However, one of the things I don't like about it is how Red's Pokemon have their levels a bit higher than before, so I'm really grinding this time before I go against him. >.> When I played my Gold game, I was able to defeat Red easily twice because I didn't have to grind as much as before. D:

Sorry to back track a bit but eh, trying to drift back to a topic. Anyway. Hoenn, I think is the most creative and most real looking region out of any of them. Packed with more mysteries and so much more sea than land as it should be.

Nostalgia is what sold HGSS, seriously. I dislike the plot also, I mean, the hideout in Mahogony Town? That's ridiculous, and their involvement in The Lake of Rage is pointless.
His levels jump too much I agree. I think it's to increase game difficulty, people had been complaining about that. But I mean, it's a big leap from the E4.

Oh my, Dewgong? Gamefreak can't even make fake difficulty work.

Depends on your pokemon, but you should be fine.

As it should be? I'm lost, what do you mean?
Thats true. A few minor things could have made DPPt better :O

A few things could make Pokemon better in general. For one, they could take out Munna and not force me to get Musharna to use some weird abnormal feature. I really hope it isn't confirmed since I don't focus on the news that much.

I beat Red with one level 97 Charizard :O
It depends on how strong your team is anyways.

@Luck: Which Pokemon is Munna again? :3

I think a better course of action would've been to add more lakes and rivers, since most people actually never go out into the ocean.

Hoenn is supposed to be an island region, while Johto and Kanto are supposed to be part of larger landmasses. I think this may be the island-dweller in you influencing your opinion.

Well, that stuff was in the original plot, so they kept it. And, maybe it's just me, but that was a pretty good plot for a handheld game from 10 years ago. That Lake of Rage thing is probably supposed to show how well organized Team Rocket still was, doing several things at once very successfully, and shows that they're an actual crime organization.

It's actually not that much of a leap, considering that your Pokemon are pretty much done collecting the EVs that make a 10 level gap so much different at the lower levels by the time they reach level 60.

Water making up most of the world etc. Hoenn having more water than land added a sense of realism.

That is actually a really good way to look at it...but I play Pokemon to get away from reality, and let my inner child play, not care about how real a Nintendo game is ;]
