But yar. Turtledove is a pretty interesting name and one of the reasons I picked up one of his books before I knew who he was. Yay for informed choices!

I like Harry Turtledove's The Tale of Krispos series, because I love the Byzantine Empire. I've also been meaning to read his Darkness series. Is that bad?

Well I know what I'm getting into when the blurbs on the cover basically said "IT'S ****ING WORLD WAR II WITH MAGIC".

And the only thing from S. M. Stirling that I've read is Jimmy the Hand written with Raymond E. Feist, which I rather enjoyed. This is probably because I love the character and universe it was set in though.

Ooh, that...yeah. That doesn't sound fun. XD; Same pretty much happened to me when I got into college, had been a couple of years since I was in school and I just forgot so much math.

Yeees. I once came home with about five books from a secondhand store and only ended up paying about $7 for the entire stack because hardcover books were on sale that day.

I've done surprising well in the course, considering how much I had forgotten, though. XD;

If you know what to look for, books at garage sales are amazing deals, since they'll all still have their covers, and people take pretty good care of their books considering they probably just let them sit on the shelf all the time. XD;

Ooh, good on you. :O I did...eh, not so well in my most recent math class, but I can't let any setbacks keep me down for too long. XD;

...which is kinda sad. D: By the time I finish a book, it shows its wear and tear and I'm proud of that. I don't generally go for hardcover books, so a lot of mine have the spine all worn out and that makes me feel good. XD

If you can find a copy of The Iron Dream, I'd say check it out. The Years of Rice and Salt may also be worth a read, though the alt-history may be a bit too soft for your liking. Of course, there's always Full Metal Panic!; only the first three novels have been translated into English, however.

Outside of books, don't dwell too much on the sheer historical implausibility of Code Geass; do stick around to watch it turn into an utterly spectacular trainwreck halfway through its second season, though. Since I already mentioned the Full Metal Panic! novels, I might as well mention the anime; The Second Raid has been out on DVD and Blu-Ray for quite some time, but Funimation's rerelease schedule for the first season and Fumoffu is a complete mess. Inglourious Basterds is good for a laugh or two, though the fact that it's a Quentin Tarantino film means that your mileage can and will vary. I seem to recall you saying you were a big fan of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and its expansion; have you played the original Red Alert, by any chance?

If you're interested in the backstory, the Code Geass Wiki has a timeline gleaned from various sources (light novels, booklets that came with the DVDs, and other obscure and possibly apocryphal things); one look at it, and you'll probably agree that it's best not to dwell on it too much so as not to taint your enjoyment of the series. The second season was a trainwreck no matter how you look at it, though. As for FMP!, the setting may be fantastical, but at least it's more plausible than Code Geass or the Draka; besides, its real strengths lie in other areas.

Yep, I've already checked out the timeline (Originated from a Naruto Forum LOL) And yeah, confusing.
Yup, FMP! I can understand, instead of Miniaturization, some freak accident causes things that are larger to be promoted.
As I said Draka is the worst of the worst. Implausible too.

Code Geass was pretty cool, but they shouldn't have made R2. The characters were just obnoxious, especially Rolo.
