Yeah shopping online's always cheaper when buying more expensive items as there's no rent to pay for having a physical shop, paying staff etc. leading to a reduction in prices.

The only downfall is if it breaks you have to phone the company/shop up and that can take a while as well as being quite stressful:

"Press 1 if you have a desktop"

5 seconds later

"Press 2 if you have a laptop"

Then you have that awful elevator music playing when you're put on hold.

In the U.K it's so much more expensive, what may cost $299 will be converted to £299. I want to move to America.
I know what you mean about the prices. It's ridiculous that companies just change the currency sign from the $ to the £ and that's the price you pay. I bought an £800 laptop and I could have gotten it for around $850. And that is not an accurate conversion. XD

America's still where all the money's at. The worlds most powerful economy has enough buying power to fuel tons of competition for its currency. Plus, there's still a lot of assembly that companies have done in the States, amazingly. And fuel's relatively cheaper here, too, which reduces shipping costs.

Hmm.

Well, I guess the US is fine that way.
But why have low price for fuel, ever heard of global warming?

I guess that's expected to come from someone who doesn't drive.

You probably weren't even talking about gas either, Don.

Alright, eff this, I'm going to bed.

It's the constituencies demands. We want low energy prices "to be competitive"

Heck the US Senate can't even agree on any renewable energy legislation. The only thing we have going for Climate Change is EPA Regulations and funds from the Stimulus Plan. Even then the Republicans want to get rid of that. >_>

Oh well I want a PC. :D

No spare rooms where I am.

The low prices for fuel are based on how many oil refineries this country has, and it has a lot of them in each state. Plus there's a ton of competition amongst fuel retailers, as well as the companies they buy their fuel from.

That makes sense. Oh well, if I can convince my dad to do it. XD

Well the main reason prices are higher in other Western Nations is due to the taxes. :x

The tax rates aren't all that much higher in other nations if you tack on the state taxes, property taxes, and sales taxes a given US citizen faces. Plus various referendums on property taxes for schools to either expand or maintain operation that exist in many districts where funding was cut by a higher level of government. And assorted other referendums that fly under some radars.

Although we don't tax our gasoline as much as other countries to fund renewables no?

And...the utterly disparaged standard of living probably reflects the inefficiency of having a 3 tiered Federal, State, and Local government system of funding. Ugh it's just like HC all over again. u_u

Yeah, only this is actually debatable. Everyone against universal health care needs to be pushed down a flight of stairs, then have their insurance taken away for the rest of their life to see how it really is without it then realize how stupid it is to argue against a person's right to good health.

I started to watch Bleach anime. I have never watched it before. I watched two first episodes and it's quite interesting. I would continue with maybe 5-10 episodes per day.

Oh gawd, the detractors will keep spouting their "Rationing and Personal responsibility" crap if you do that. XD

"I've read through the entire Bleach series 2 summers ago. I am now attempting to do the same with D.Gray Man. :D"

I've heard about that too. It's just crazy how people in General can't even get over the JFK stigma of religion. u_u

Jeez why is life like this.

Anyways, I'm getting a Netbook, any suggestions?
The more controversial a subject is, the more it's debated over.

That's how it usually goes online, or maybe it's just me.

And it devolves into unnecessary Godwin's Law references. XD

Seriously, I have no time to reply to essay long replies. xP
XDDDDD

I used to be one of those people sadly. I'll just say this now; The Theory of Evolution is always, always, always included. It's pretty damn annoying.
