Why do we have new versions anyway?

I think it'd be cool to see how many posts we've ever made in these threads. lol
 
Because long threads are scary to new members when you haven't posted in them before. Brand new threads are also exciting.

I think it mattered more back in 2007 (well that was the end of it really - aka the end of spam generation imo) when we were all post count obsessed, and getting to first mattered like crazy, as well as having the most posts in each DCC. It also made the DCCs quite spammy. :(
 
Nah, you wanna go back to like 2005 when the coolest thing you could do was literally the first post. :P There used to be a sign up thread for which members would create the monthly DCCs.
 
That still existed in 2007! But still 2007 was basically the end of "DCCs are the best ever".
 
I thought we'd moved to seasonal DCCs posted by mods by then. Isn't that around when OC had like 3 mods who were always fighting over who got to post what?

idk, I've been here so long that I have no idea what PC's timeline is like anymore.
 
Nah, Pachy posted the last monthly DCC in July 2007. :x So it was technically most of 2007!

As for three mods, idk when that was, lol.

I'd go ask aegis since he's upstairs and he might actually remember (he was one of said mods) but then I'd have to get out of bed. I suppose we shall never know.

I'm thinking of Ray, Chibi and Aegis, yeah. I think they came right after drummershuff and Ashley (who would never have seriously argued over who got to post what :P)?

Again, been here too long to remember exactly though. :c
