How old is it? It needs a scratching post or something if it doesn't already have one. If it does then I guess it's a feisty one.
The only way to stop it is block it from getting into your room lol.

There are also those nice little claw caps that go on cats and keep them from clawing things without hurting them.
 
My cat is SO chill. You pick him up, he purrs. You play with his paws, he meows. You do anything with him and he might try to twist himself to escape but he won't scratch, won't bite, and will most likely be purring the entire time. He just loves people so much that any attention from humans is good and he'll pose and cry and try to look cute for whatever scraps of attention he can get, haha.
 
That sounds like what I always thought cats were like. Then in college I had a roommate with The Hellbeast* that would swipe at me whenever I got anywhere near him. Why are all the cats in my life so awful? :(

I've always wanted to have a cat. =\ But we can't have one because my mom has allergies... otherwise I'd buy one.

Today is going by so slow for some reason. =\
 
Scarf get a Persian or a Ragdoll. Or an Exotic Shorthair.

Maybe they dislike your natural scent.
 
My best friend has two cats. One is a fat lazy wannabe Garfield and the other is active, nimble and sometimes scratches. I've only been scratched a few times and bitten once but I've never drawn blood. It stings a bit but yeah. I've seen her go mad at the scratching post and toy mouse before though lol.

My aunt's cats love my sister, but every time I walk by them, they give me the biggest cut eye. One of them chased me out of the house when I was younger, hissing and running at me. Scared the **** outta me. But like I said, they love my sister. One of them is even more receptive toward her if she tries to play with him. But he just stares me down. >:(
