I've always just interpreted it as attack the Pokemon you like the least tbh. Which will sooner or later end up being a Pokemon someone else likes given the vast differences in people's preferences.

That would be absolutely fine if the thread itself were more busy with a lot of different users playing, or if you and Feraligatr posted much less often (which I highly doubt would be much fun for either of you), or I enforce the generally forum-wide rule of waiting for 2 other users to post instead of just 1 as is currently going on here. (which in my opinion would practically kill the game, or at the very least slow it to a crawl, which I'd very much like to not do) Even this 'rule edit' isn't a great solution to things, but it's better than doing nothing at all or one of those other options as far as I see it.

What ReKoil said. However, what about saving the same Pokemon twice in a row? Is that okay?

I have yet to see any issue with that since even if another user really isn't fond of the Pokemon being saved, I very highly doubt seeing one 'make it' would harm interest all that much since they can just pick another to attack instead.

I will add however, (and this is by no means a rule or anything) that if either of you see someone new(er) posting in here and trying to save a specific Pokemon that the two of you equally don't like, maaaybe cut them some slack and "let the Wookie win" every once in a while. If someone feels like what Pokemon they want to help make it isn't just going to get totally ganged up on every time, they might be more inclined to stick around and play for the long haul.
Aaanyway...

I've actually tried easing up on a Pokemon several times before in either this version or a previous one when there were multiple attackable targets by switching targets.
People stopped posting anyway despite a temporary 'cease fire' on my end to see if they're serious about saving it or not.
Assuming 'stopped posting' even is the correct word here given that there a lot of people who only post in PT or on PC once in a blue moon anyway.

Though there are definitely Pokemon that were loathed enough to have gotten a continuous barrage of attacks no matter what in the past =P

Just out of curiosity: would anyone want a game that's more akin to the Pokemon race, in the sense that there's a single Pokemon up for voting and you +1 to save it if you like it or you -1 to scrap it if you don't, but with the difference that everyone only gets a single vote per Pokemon and every day the active mon being voted on gets changed automatically.

It would stick to PokeDex order and if we want to speed it up more (as 1 mon per day takes 1.025 days to finish =P), we could also do 1 mon per gen per day concurrently. Though I feel like that might get messier with people potentially forgetting to vote for all 9 in 1 go, it would speed things up considerably as the longest gen is gen 5 with... 155 Pokemon? If a gen runs out of Pokemon, like gen 6 would be the first in that, there would just be 1 mon less and it becomes 8 Pokemon concurrently from then on.

Yeah, that happens unfortunately. I don't imagine it'll solve that problem either, but I'm hoping it'll at least make the game look more inviting for people interested but not sure if they want to play or not. (heck, it took me scrolling through almost the entire thread before I properly understood how the game worked lol, so I want to make it look as welcoming as possible since I do think it's a good concept for a game, and if P-Triv were just more active in general it would be one of the more popular ones, hence why I'm messing with the natural order now all of a sudden)

I'm honestly not sure how it'll do compared to the rest of P-Triv's games, but you're more than welcome to give it a shot. I do have a couple of ideas on things that could be added in, but I'll hold off on mentioning them (ideas, not hard rules, to be clear) until I see if it's reasonably successful. (which I'd classify as having 4-5 regulars participating almost if not every day) If you decide to go ahead with said game I'll be sure to sticky it so it gets more eyes.
