Alright, here we are, update #1
EM's Grass Type Challenge
-Started the game with Chespin! (no surprise)
-Caught Pansage in Santalune Forest
-Caught a female Burmy on Route 3
-Spent time grinding Burmy up to lv. 10 so it'd learn tackle and be useful
-Rolled through Santalune Gym's bug types with Chespin's Rollout
-Chespin evolved to Quilladin!
-Got the Exp. Share and turned it off
-Met the Prof. in Lumiose City and beat him- receiving Bulbasaur (no surprise again)
-Left Lumiose to Route 5
-Spent FOREVER looking for Skiddo. Caught Skiddo.
-Currently: Raising Burmy to level 15 to learn Bug Bite. Reminding self that Burmy is going to be worth it because Wormadam learns a lot of psychic moves (strangely)

3rd Update, Fire Challenge, Black 2:
-defeated the Neo Plasma Grunts hiding in the sewers
-took a peek inside Relic Passage
-took on the Castelia City Gym. It was easy, as expected. Not even Dwebble being part Rock could save Burgh from me torching his team.
-bumped into Colress, followed him out to Route 4, and did battle
-that wall of Crustle got out of the way (thank you Colress!), so I began to explore Route 4
-caught a Darumaka (which has Hustle, but then there's a Wide Lens sitting in one of the houses along Route 4. That was really convienient)
-after checking out Route 4, I entered Join Avenue and got hired as the manager (who the hell just makes some random stranger the manager of part of their new business idea?)
-then explored Desert Resort and part of Relic Castle
-arrived in Nimbasa City
-paired up with Nate and beat the Subway Bosses
-deposited Magby (waiting till level 30 for a baby poke to evolve is not helpful)

Update #1:
->Started my adventure and chose Totodile (for now, when i get pokeballs I'll catch a poison type).
->Found this rival named Zane, he challenged me with his Porygon. I defeated him with ease, and now I'm on to Mr.Pokemon's place.
->So, they gave me the mystery egg, Elm called, you know how this goes, the fight against my rival Kaz was easy enough. He also has a totodile, but it was easily deafeated (don't know why but there is a sandstorm n route 29).
->Now I'm on route 30 looking for a poison type, before the first gym, a weedle perhaps. Actually I went to the dark cave a caught a Zubat, named him Zon.

4th Update, Fire Challenge, Black 2:
-battled in the Nimbasa City sports arenas
-checked out Route 16 and Lostlorn Forest
-took a look inside the Musical place. It was a bit funny when the owner was taking about how my character on White (cuz I did Memory Link) was such a star at the musicals. I was like, sir, I did the musicals all of 4 times back then, and I wasn't amazing either. Whatchoo talkin' about?
-took a ride on the Ferris Wheel, picked up Curtis's Xtransceiver
-cleared the old Nimbasa gym (I thought there was more than 2 trainers in there, but apparently there isn't)
-defeated Elesa at the new Nimbasa gym. It wasn't hard, partly because I went and taught Darumaka Dig before entering the gym. Took a little longer than it needed to because of paralysis and Elesa's constant Volt Switching.
-helped Hugh defeat some Neo Plasma grunts, because that kid just can't let me handle things

It's been pretty easy so far, except for a couple of battles. But now's where it gets hard; Clay's gym is next. And I think I have to wait until after his gym before I can get more Fire types. We'll see if I can get Volcarona before the gym or not...

Firs of all, why would evolving Eevee into Sylveon be permitted if the Fairy type is not allowed for this challenge? Secondly... why is the Fairy type disallowed in the first place?

You actually quoted exactly the piece of info you needed. It's not allowed for ULTIMATE challenges. Single challenges in X and Y can use Fairy Type still.

Aventure! J'adore les fees. :) Je parle francais tres mal, haha. Enough of that. Thanks to Makoto for the Swirlix egg. I didn't have my extra 3DS to trade myself one, so he did the honors and took my lame French Scatterbug. She hatched quickly and was named Mousse. I had no trouble with the first gym, surprisingly. After I did that, I caught my second party member Rygarde the Ralts. Fun stuff: Tackle is Charge and unable is impossible. A lot of people tried to trade with me, despite my message saying "need swirlix egg" and they offered...not even eggs. Thanks for the offer of Landorus, guys, but I really doubt you want my French Bidoof or Fletchling.​
