Now with grinding out of the way and the one building with all the trainers cleared out offscreen, let us go and deal with, you guessed it, even more of Messiah's goons.
rip Messiah's goons part...5? I'm already losing track of how many times we've sent Messiah's goons packing. Speaking of packing, let's send Burgh packing too because he's bad.
My god, this was the easiest gym battle ever. Rock Blast absolutely murdered Whirlipede and I double crit Levanney to death. Dwebble was just a single Bubblebeam to oblivion and that was it. Seriously, I knew Burgh was bad, but I didn't know having a Rock type basically broke this battle. Since I totally broke this battle, let's go get the newest rival battles done.
To be honest, Bianca was more annoying than Cheren. That's beside the point, though, since they're both scrubs. Let's get an encounter and have a grand old time.
And while I was hoping for a Sandile to make my life against Clay's Excadrill easier, I get this thing instead. Sure, it could replace Vulacnus, but I don't really want another Fire type...for now.
Say hello to Agilao the Darumaka...who is getting boxed. Anyway, onward to the Desert Resort.
So after two more Darumaka runins, I finally found the mon I wanted.
That aside, this time, I went with another Persona 1 character name. Introducing Reiji Kido, our Sandile, ladies and gentlemen. Anyway, with that aside, I'm going to skip my Relic Castle encounter, even though I know there's a fossil there I can get. Since I have to go back there later anyway, I can kill two birds with one stone. Let's head on over to Nimbasa.
...and run into more of Messiah's goons, part 6...I think. Doesn't matter since the next round with Messiah in the flesh is coming up, but before that...we got two encounters to grab. Route 16 and Lostlorn Forest.
.....We start with a bad mon in this gen. Fantastic.
Obvious name for a Poison type. It's getting boxed without a doubt :P
And in Lostlorn Forest, I found the basic replacement for Masao in case he dies somehow in a magical incident.
Now, with this one, I went with another Persona for a nickname. It's male, and it's Grass type, so I figured I'd go with Narcissus of the Lovers Arcana. Anyway, let's go fight Messiah for the third time.
We beat Messiah, but without a loss this time. Ubelluris died from his Sigilyph's Psybeam even with Eviolite. It didn't die from a Power Gem and it was a clean crit that ended him. Why is it that when a team member puts in work in the gym, it gets killed. Maybe this is a sign, and the worst part is now my "kill all the Emolgas before they pull annoying business with Volt Switch" strategy is out the window.
Ubelluris (Boldore) ♂ Lv. 11-26 @ Eviolite
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Sturdy
Moves: Smack Down,Mud-Slap, Power Gem, Headbutt
Is this karma or something? Did he deserve to die this way because of how easily I swept the third gym? It's not fair. First, Vulacnus gets hax'd, and now Ubelluris dies from a crit. I feel like karma is trying to tell me something. My resolve to destroy Messiah's soul has now grown a lot. He will be bodied, and Ubelluris' death will not be in vain.
Welp...looks like I'll need to grind up a replacement member for Ubelluris...and grind for the next gym now that I beat Messiah. I'm so sad right now.
