I am going to get all starters shiny. Just because I want them. I got the second egg from the man. I want to see if it will be shiny too. I don't know if hatching an egg affects the RNG.

2nd egg wont be shiny. :P

Edit:

Basically now, we can get every pokemon except all legendaries shiny. Manaphy might be able to be shiny. I don't know. I will try when I get Ranger and send over the egg. :3

Manaphy can't be shiny, as the Manaphy egg is generated differently from normal eggs. Also, since it's an event Pokémon, the game is programmed to create a new egg if it's shiny, so it's impossible to SR for a shiny Manaphy egg too.

So it actually worked for you? Twice I'm assuming, cause you got a Majikarp and a Turtwig.

K, I have a R4 card (it lets me download a lot of game onto it, for the DS), and I downloaded Platinum onto it, IN JAPANESE. And I have an English Diamond. So I was wondering if that would work? And if it will, which game should I hatch the egg on?

Yes, it is confirmed that it works. He did not use it though. He used another method.


That should work, as they are from two different countries. Well, are both ROMs, or is the Diamond version an actual cart? I usually like to hatch my pokemon on the actual game carts. If not, I'd still say Diamond.

Question about the bolded: Do you mean he did not use a R4 card?

Yeah, that's why I thought it would work, even though I live in Canada and downloaded the Japanese Platinum ROM from an English site.
I have an actual Diamond version cart, yes. So the safest way is probably to trade over a Pokemon from my Jap-Plat to my Eng-Diamond and breed?

I used method one. I never gotten results from method two. Also, I know nothing about flash carts. Although, I would assume that it would work as long as they are different countries. Hatch the egg on Platinum with one parent being from that Platinum, and the other imported from the Diamond.

Junichi Masuda of GameFreak said it works. Unless I read wrong. Either way, many have confirmed it besides him.

I do not use a R4 card. I have an actual Platinum. I just use my codes for finding an SID and IV checking. I used method one, the one everyone says is too difficult. I am just repeating now though.

I hope I helped a little. I think I might have just rambled. XD

When I get to Iron Island, I will see if it works for the Riolu egg. Doing all the steps right next to Aaron and then getting the egg and seeing if it is shiny. I hope it works, I have always wanted a shiny Lucario. =3

Remember though, the chances are not the same. It is 1/2048. Which is a lot more common than 1/8192, but still. So don't expect results right away. :3

The Turtwig video is huge. 400 MB. I am about to edit it to speed up the hatching part. Then I have to upload it onto Megavideo. It will still be too big for Youtube. XD

I've been trying to chain Murkrow at Eterna Forest on my Diamond for ages now, because shiny Honchkrows are sexy. :)
However, my chains always seem to break. Today, on my fourth try, it broke at 35. I raged. >=[

Just a few minutes ago, I decide to take a crack at it again. However, when I was using my Poke Radar, Murkrow didn't show up. When a Buneary showed up, I decided to chain it, because shiny Lopunny look like the most sickeningly cute strawberry milkshakes ever.

On chain 6, a shiny patch appears. My heart racing, I run to it, not even thinking to switch my Meowth for my Jolly Gardevoir.

It ended up being Adamant, Klutz, @Chople Berry. Quite lucky if I do say so myself :)

Then, the epic lulz ensued when, after I killed the Buneary after that, the chain broke.

Thanks to . for giving me the nickname Nesquik.

This marks my 8th species of shinies, and my 146th shiny in Diamond.

I'll list the others later.

I have a lot of IV checks to do D:

Yuppers, I read that part of your post about the bigger chance of getting a shiny.

Works fine for me.

I am going to hunt for a shiny phione later..

My Diamond crashed so I lost like 60 shinies. But I have the three I actually care about so oh well.

Wow, if mine crashed and I lost so many shinies, I would kill someone. I've only had like, 3 shinies in my life. XD
Btw, which 3 shinies are the ones that matter to you?

Turtwig, Magikarp, and Whismur. Whismur was a random shiny in Emerald.
