I never remember episodes' names, and I really don't remember most episodes well. What was it about? Maybe I have seen it.

It's the one when ash and co. go to an island where they found a really old Orange island cup in a sunken ship. Team rocket steals it, but then the ship raises up and steal the cup from team rocket. ash and co. go onto the ship. turns out a haunter and gastly raised the ship to retreive their master's most prized possetion. Maybe the people ghosts are doing sumthing like that?
 
Maybe someone started to steal things from the house when it was abandoned, and the ghosts want to take them back. It could be, except the ghosts can't if they don't get out of the Chateau. At least they could be protecting the house, but you can still get the TM, the Antidote and the Gateau, so what happens with this?

And because it deserves a mention in every Chateau thread, the picture with eyes appears to be a cameo of ROB; if not then at least strongly inspired by his design.

For those who don't know, ROB was a toy robot made by Nintendo which hooked up to the NES. He's credited with saving video games following the post-Atari video game crash in the 80s. Even if the video game market had slowly recovered without ROB, there'd still be no Game Boy. And with no Game Boy, there's no Pokémon. See where this is going? ;)

1. Mother & Father come home
2. Girl's happy they're reunited
3. Butler hates to see them happy
4. Butler slips Antidote in Mother's drink at dinner
5. Mother dies
5. Father carries daughter up stairs into room where you see her ghost
6. Butler has a knife with him
7. Father: Stay her darling, I'm going to see if he's still there
8. Girl: No Daddy! don't leave m---(father covers mouth)
9. Don't worry
10. Father treads carefully through door
11. Father gets stabbed
12. Girl quickly runs to shut door
13. Butler sticks foot in doorway, leaving the room ajar
14. Butler closes and locks door behind him
15. Girl gets stabbed
16. Butler was a Bannete in disguise, killing the girl for leaving it for Rotom
17. Bannete is in house with lots of shuppet with it
18. Rotom comes out of television and kills all pokemon in the mansion
19. Rotom's rage continues and tears the house apart
20. Rotom sends a big wave out, causing blackouts and electronic havoc and distortion for hundreds of miles.

Oh my goodness...
1. DO NOT without proof say that everyone here was wrong.
2. Rotom could not have caused black outs for hundreds of miles, it's range is limited.
3. Why would there be stabbing in a kids game.
4. I am not critising your thoery just adding to it.

OK, so a happy family with a butler that hated them but still worked for them, then the mother was killed with an antidote (?????) and the father and girl were stabbed. Then, from 16 onwards it's just "WTH?" Then Rotom comes and kills everyone else. Seriously these were jsut anything from your head just now, right?

This guy also has no right to say people are wrong since theres no answer/proof, yet.
And why do I feel like 75% of theories/posts in this thread are repeated?
 
Because, as I pointed out, they're all about poisoning the girl or the rest of the family. Either it has to do with that or with the girl getting stabbed.

I think we've had enough about these theories. It's just better to start discussing about why are the ghosts there in the first place? Do they want to protect something? It can be something hidden, at least not the TM or the Gateau because they do nothing when you take it. They could also be kind of lost between this world and the other.
 
Maby the ghosts became disrupted when (If) Backlot took that statue.
 
Maybe the ghosts were disrupted because he came back. If he was the previous owner, they wouldn't like him very much.
