Additionally, Beedrill can learn Cut, and I believe Rock Smash too. So it could serve decently as an HM slave.

I hated how location-based evolution in Sun & Moon... who at Game Freak thought it was a good idea to make Magneton, Nosepass and Charjabug's electric field for evolution so near the endgame? And don't get me started on Crabrawler only evolving right before the Elite Four...
